The role:

• Responsibility for all aspects of the financial management of Greenpeace Environmental Trust (GET), a registered charity.
• Responsibility for the preparation of annual statutory accounts, annual report, and conducting the annual audit.
• Work with the Events team to ensure that the budgeting, financial control and management, and reporting of the Glastonbury Festival and all other festivals and events is conducted in an accurate and timely manner.
• Preparation of the annual budget and presentation to the board of trustees.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and written finance report to trustees and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate cash flow management and forecasting procedures to proactively manage all cash balances.
• Manage the grant-making process and account for all grant income received.
• Review restricted income, ensuring correct documentation is received and the restrictions are applied.
• Maintain policies and procedures ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Continually work to develop and improve the quality and usefulness of our reporting.
• Providing financial analysis, including trends and areas of opportunity or concern for budget holders and other stakeholders.
• Work with other Deputy Head of Finance and the programme co-ordinator to proactively improve all aspects of the financial management of the programme department’s activities in relation to activity funded by GET.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified, or a finalist Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or other chartered accountancy qualification) or will be qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience of working in a finance function in a hands-on role.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of accounting principles and best practice, with reference to specific UK charity accounting rules and regulations.
  • Substantial experience of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience of involvement in financial year-end and annual statutory audit.
  • Proven experience of delivering a business partnering-focused service and providing in-depth insight, analysis and guidance to budget-holders.
• Support and believe in the aims of Greenpeace.
• Have highly developed communication skills with credibility to operate outside the finance function up to senior management level.

These organisations focus on diverse communities, including rural job seekers, underemployed women, and public sector workers, aiming to bridge the digital divide and promote economic resilience. The initiative underscores AI's potential to drive social mobility and equitable growth across the continent. We are also hoping to scale our work in this area in the future. 

Position Overview: 

At CPI we believe people are at the heart of our success. We are seeking a Grants Officer (Associate)   based in Europe to join our CPI Europe (CPIE) team. Your role is  critical  in ensuring the smooth delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. This role is responsible for the effective administration of grants including ongoing due diligence and accurate record keeping, contributing to assessing proposals and organisations, stewarding and maintaining effective relationships with grantees and wider partners,  and ensuring compliance, timely reporting and payments. This role does not involve managing others.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Grant Strategy & Development

• Contribute to shaping the strategy, design and execution of the AI Opportunity Fund.

• Prepare and submit accurate and timely grant reports to key stakeholders in collaboration with finance and programme teams.

• Monitor grant budgets and expenditures, flagging any discrepancies or potential issues.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for grantees, fostering positive relationships,  triaging and addressing inquiries and supporting them to deliver effectively.

• Identify and escalate issues  in a timely manner, actively participate in proposing and implement solutions. 

3. DEIB & Collaborative Working

Working closely with the NHS and Schools you will manage a small specialist counselling team ensuring high-quality, trauma informed support for our young people who have experienced sexual violence. Sitting within Alzheimer’s Society’s National Influencing team, as our new National Influencing Officer (Public Affairs) you would be instrumental in delivering innovative, engaging, collaborative, and evidence-based influencing work. You’d be ensuring that political and health system stakeholders are acting on the biggest issues affecting people living with dementia, working closely with other teams to drive work that is integrated locally and nationally.

While this role is predominantly focused on delivering national influencing activity in England, you’ll also be part of a fluid and flexible team that operates across boundaries and supports with our political work in Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Role
With the support of the Head of Individual Giving you will be responsible for campaign planning, testing, creative development, researching content and images for new appeals, agency management and delivery, making sure that any appeal is run efficiently and effectively from start to finish.

Support acquisition activity including media/list selection, creative development and testing, optimising existing campaigns.

You will be supported in working to the existing budget but will be able to influence and input into future financial planning from the results of your campaign tests and your negotiation skills with our suppliers.

Assist with the development of in memory, legacy marketing and newsletter development.

The Candidate
Demonstrable experience in working on direct marketing campaigns for a charity.

Ideally experience of supporting direct mail, telemarketing, email and online campaigns.

Experience of using a fundraising database for charity CRM.

Proven copywriting, editorial and proofreading skills, with ability to tailor copy to the audience.

About the role

As a Data Executive you'll be responsible for managing marketing data selections; taking responsibility for a campaign to advise on segmentation, building selections in Blackbaud Enterprise CRM, and using SQL to write output scripts. 

You'll be responsible for identifying, fixing, and improving issues in the database, especially around data quality. You'll also get involved in other projects as required such as testing software upgrades, and new ways of working.

Working arrangements

This is a fixed term contract, for up to 18 months, covering a secondment within the team.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office, up to once a week.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering and growing income to support the charity’s mission. Working closely with the Senior Trusts Funding Manager, you will help implement fundraising plans across multiple income streams, including trusts and corporate foundations, events and individual giving.
