Our mission is to lead new and determined efforts to find cures for Follicular Lymphoma (FL). The aim of all our programmes is to accelerate a transformative change in scientific research that will lead to better treatments and cures for FL patients. In choosing what work to do we are solely focused on output and impact.

We’re at a crucial point in our search for a cure for follicular lymphoma. Our pioneering research will lead to transformational treatments, and our science is on the verge of future cures. With more support, we can radically reshape the future for everyone affected by follicular lymphoma.

Summary /overall purpose

We are seeking an energetic, highly organised and proactive individual to join our friendly team. As the Research Programmes Coordinator, you will work closely with the Director of Patient and Clinical Research Programmes and the wider research team, playing a key role in the smooth delivery of our diverse research initiatives and events.

You will be at the centre of coordinating the administration of patient events, workshops, high-profile conferences and other events, ensuring they run seamlessly. In addition, you will be responsible for keeping the research portfolio tracking system up to date. The role also involves providing administrative support to the research team as needed.

This is a developmental role offering broad exposure to the research team within a growing charity. You will gain valuable experience across multiple business areas and have the opportunity to shape the role as the Foundation evolves.

Main responsibilities

· Scientific & Patient Event Management: Support the end-to-end project management of scientific events, conferences, symposiums and patient workshops ensuring smooth execution, timely delivery, and alignment with strategic goals.

· Research Programme Administration & Portfolio Management: Provide administrative and operational support across the Foundation’s research portfolio, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and documentation.

· Event Planning, Scheduling & Logistics Coordination: Lead the practical organisation and scheduling of multiple events and meetings, including venue booking, catering, AV setup, travel, reimbursements, and supplier management. Coordinate timelines and deliverables across projects such as patient workshops, and international conferences, ensuring all logistics and communications run efficiently and to plan.

Other duties

· Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop materials for engaging donors.

· Providing administrative support to the research team as needed.

· Work in alignment with the Foundation’s values and maintain the reputation and standing of the Foundation.

· Ensure confidentiality is always maintained and adhere to General Data Protection Regulations across all areas of work.

Skills and Competencies

Essential Criteria

· 2-3 years of experience in cancer or other health related field.

· BSc in health or other related field 

· Experience in project management and/or coordinating multifaceted programmes or events.

· A high level of independence, accuracy and attention to detail.

· Initiative in dealing with a wide range of tasks and ability to juggle multiple deadlines.

· Excellent organisational, planning, and prioritisation abilities.

· Ability to creatively solve problems, learn new skills quickly, and think on the fly in a fast-paced environment.

· Comfortable working independently and proactively within a small, high-performing team.

Desirable Criteria

· Experience of working in a charity and supporting patient centred programmes

· Strong relationship-building skills with patient communities, advocacy groups, industry and other diverse stakeholders to effectively incorporate patient perspectives into programme design and research priorities.

· Previous experience working in the not-for-profit or charity sector

Hours of work and holidays:

This is a full-time role with working hours generally surround 9-5 Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Research Manager to help us manage and be responsible for our research grants programme. This includes maintenance of our existing grant portfolio as well as management of our national funding calls and the award of new grants. The role requires the development of close working relationships with research stakeholders including our staff, the members of our Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP), our grant-holders and funding partners.

We currently have 38 active research grants, and award approximately £1.5 million of new grants each year. 

The Research Manager runs the grants programme with support from the CEO. In addition, you will work closely with the Communications Manager on research communications. 

You will be a self-starter, able to self-motivate and thrive on working with a range of individuals and organisations. You will be a skilled communicator, working with a variety of stakeholders, including our SAP, our Fundraising and Communications team and our grant holders. 

A successful Research Manager at Brain Research UK will have a full grasp of all elements of grant management. You will have a close working relationship with the fundraising and communications team to provide, in lay terms, explanations of projects to our donors. You will help drive excellence in our grant assessment and management processes, to ensure the best research is funded and appropriately managed.

Caroline Blakely CEO

Since 1998 Here We Are (HWA) registered charity SC027715, has been a community resource providing information on the development and history of the parish of Cairndow/Kilmorich in Argyll.  It seeks to maximise the benefits of stimulating and satisfying curiosity about a local community in order to bridge the gap between visitor and visited.  It has an extensive collection of photographs and has mounted several online and physical exhibitions.

At its centre near Cairndow, at the head of Loch Fyne, HWA shows how a rural community, while loyal to its roots, makes its way in the modern world.  HWA has created two renewable energy companies and is recognised as a social capital champion by Assist Social Capital and the Scottish Communities Foundation.   

An opportunity has arisen to create a research and development role, and this would suit someone with a keen interest in social history or environmental history, particularly the effects on isolated and rural communities.  Interest in providing interpretation to make this accessible to a wider audience would be desirable.

THE ROLE

This is an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team and take us forward in new directions. 

As well as the research role, this position will include general administrative elements to support the team, meeting and greeting visitors, and the opportunity to develop bookkeeping skills.  Training will be provided.  Support can also be provided via Newcastle University’s history department for funding bids, collaborations and more.

We will be supportive of an applicant’s suggested initiatives.

PRIORITIES

· Creating links between the existing projects and archives generated by HWA and assisting in updating and extending them

· Developing new project ideas that link Landscape, Social History and the issues facing rural communities

TERMS

This position will be based at the Here We Are Centre (PA16 8BL) and is expected to be four days per week (0900 – 1500), although there is flexibility in this. This is an in person role.

Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 FTE pro rata for 22 hours per week

Holidays will be 5.6 weeks per year, pro rata, and HWA is closed over Christmas and New Year.

About the role

The Customer Insight and Analysis team champions insight-led decision-making at British Heart Foundation (BHF). As our Research Manager, you will act as a strategic insight partner to teams across BHF including brand and marketing, fundraising, retail and medical. Working Arrangements

We are recruiting two roles: one permanent and one 12-month fixed term contract.

We are looking for an Interim Director of Research (Maternity Cover) who will lead a talented research team of staff and associates providing direction and oversight for a diverse, ambitious research portfolio. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play an essential role in strategy and have a hands-on approach from quality assurance and developing research practice, to managing projects and nurturing partnerships.

You will need to have deep roots in qualitative research, as well as the work of charities and funders, with experience of line management, team supervision and leading on new work development.

You will play an essential role at a key moment for IVAR. Charities are facing mounting pressures and ongoing complexities, and IVAR’s work is critical in supporting the response.

At the Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR), we work with charities, foundations and public agencies to strengthen UK communities through action research. We champion the role and contribution of the voluntary sector. We listen, learn and share what helps – and what gets in the way – so that funders and decision-makers can put charity voice at the heart of change.

As Interim Director of Research, you will lead a motivated and talented team of research staff and freelance research associates. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing a strategic and balanced research portfolio, including leadership of project design and new work development.

You will have a proven track record at the senior leadership team level and in line management, experienced at moving between strategic and operational priorities, and be confident to lead a research team in a collaborative and developmental way. 

You will have strong experience of research design, bid writing and generation of new work. You will be skilled in qualitative and action research, including significant experience of facilitating complex processes and discussions.

It is essential that you have experience of the voluntary sector and working with funders.

In Spring 2028, the National Gallery will launch a new, public-facing Research Centre to facilitate and showcase our world-leading research in the history, display, conservation, and science of painting. We are now recruiting for a new role, a Research Centre Manager, to support in the planning and daily delivery of an exceptional experience at the Research Centre. The role-holder will provide vital clarity and consistency in the day-to-day running of this multifaceted space to ensure a smoothly functioning whole, including coordinating all aspects of the Research Centre operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the Research Centre facilities and administration.

Campaign for Better Transport is the leading national charity championing the need for integrated, sustainable and affordable transport. This role will play a significant part in our Policy and Research team and will be responsible for developing and evidencing our policy work to underpin our campaigning, influencing and communications.

The successful candidate will have experience in policy research, a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research, the ability to develop and utilise appropriate research methods and excellent data analysis skills. They will also have an understanding of Westminster, national, regional and local policy development and delivery processes.

We are open to levels of seniority between officer and manager level, and will appoint the most suitable person to the post, depending on experience.

Cure Parkinson's Research Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring that the lived experience and perspective of people with Parkinson’s (PwP) is embedded across our research activities. The role includes managing our international Research Advocates Council and supporting public and patient involvement and engagement (PPIE) initiatives. Job Description

You’ll join the Research Management and Impact team, part of Marie Curie’s Research and Policy Directorate. As the UK’s largest charitable funder of palliative and end-of-life care research, we manage a diverse portfolio of grants, centres, and commissioned projects. Our team also leads on measuring, communicating, and maximising the impact of funded research – ensuring it drives real-world change in care and policy.

As Research Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of research grants from application through to delivery, supporting researchers and ensuring effective management of funding. You will also play a vital role in tracking and demonstrating the impact of Marie Curie’s research, helping to evidence the difference it makes for patients, carers, and services. Your expertise will directly contribute to building a stronger evidence base and closing gaps in palliative and end-of-life care.

Your Impact:

• Manage pre- and post-award research funding processes, including applications, reviews, contracts, and reporting.
• Act as the main point of contact for funded researchers, linking them with Marie Curie colleagues across policy and services.
• Overseeing financial management of research grants, audits, and reporting.
• Lead on the annual Researchfish impact data collection and monitor policy impact using tools such as Overton.
• Produce case studies, reports, and metrics to evidence and communicate research impact.
• Support organisation of research events, including the Marie Curie Research into Practice Conference.

Key Criteria:

• Experience in research management at a charitable or government funder, university, or NHS organisation.
• Knowledge of UK health and/or social science research sectors.
• Strong financial management skills and experience.
• Proven ability to analyse data, produce clear reports, and communicate complex information.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Relevant degree or higher level qualification (or equivalent knowledge/experience).
• Interest in palliative and end-of-life care.

We are looking for a talented and experienced communications professional to help us build on our communications effort. The main aim of our communications work is to support our fundraising drive. The focus of the role is twofold: boosting supporter loyalty by helping supporters to feel like they are enabling cutting edge neurological research; building understanding and engagement with the wider public to drive consideration to support us. 

We enjoy a solid base of support with c26,000 engaged individuals across a range of audience segments including cash donors (c4,000), regular givers (c4,000), events and community (c3,000), patients and our wider non-donor community (c16,000). Our primary mass communications channels are our website, Facebook, Instagram and via email. 

We are looking to put renewed energy behind our communications work and seeking to maximise our digital engagement. This includes both promoting fundraising opportunities and using social channels as a means of interacting with, and taking queries from, supporters and the wider public. 

Our work in fundraising is designed to maximise funds needed for research to help the one in six of us that has a neurological condition.

The Women’s Budget Group (WBG) is the UK’s leading feminist economics think tank, providing evidence on women’s economic position and proposing policy alternatives for a gender-equal economy.

You will produce research analysis on women's economic circumstances, helping us to translate complex ideas into policy recommendations for a more gender-equal economy.
