The Events & Fundraising Manager will work at the heart of our public events programme, helping to organise fundraising walks and other events across London and the South East, and raising funds to support the provision of free legal advice. Our events include the London Legal Walk -- an annual event which raises over £1 million each year -- regional Legal Walk events, and other fundraising events such as the Great Legal Quiz and the Great Legal Bake. LLST also purchases places for third party events such as the London Marathon, Brighton Marathon, and Big Half. We also raise money through individual and corporate donations.
The Events & Fundraising Manager's principal role is to manage these events and promote our fundraising in support of free legal advice charities in London and the South East. Your main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

The Role

Purpose of the job
Primarily, you’ll own responsibility for our small to medium grant pipeline, so we're looking for someone with a track record of successfully securing five figure funding from Trusts, Foundations, or Corporates. As well as writing high quality, comprehensive and persuasive funding applications, you’ll need to manage reporting and relationship management with the funders you successfully engage with and oversee wider fundraising areas, including playing a key role in our social media and communications, supporting sponsored event and London marathon runners, and playing a key part in planning our annual fundraising events. We see significant potential for growth within the role with the capacity for the right candidate to progress to Senior Fundraising Officer level within the first 12-18 months.

The role
Are you passionate about fundraising and supporting an inspiring programme of artistic events, learning activities and community work?
We are seeking a Philanthropy Officer to play a key role in supporting and delivering excellent stewardship for our Patrons and most generous individual donors. From dance and film, to music, theatre and visual arts the Philanthropy team works across the whole of our ambitious and joyful cross-arts programme, giving you the chance to share the best of the Barbican with our closest supporters.
The Philanthropy Officer will be the main point of contact in the Philanthropy team, primarily account managing our lower-level Patrons and supporting the stewardship and recruitment of higher level donors. Alongside the delivery of our Patrons scheme, they will lead on all individual giving events and manage the philanthropy team’s participation in Development-wide events such as exhibition private views. The Philanthropy Officer also provides key administrative support to the Philanthropy team, keeping track of financial reconciliation, preparing invoices, and managing accurate income data in our CRM Spektrix.

Championing supporter care across The Charity, you will lead on guaranteeing a high quality experience for our donors and supporters through their journey with us. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- With the support of the Head of CX, provide an exemplary core Supporter Care and Central Operations function, meeting agreed SLAs to maximise supporter engagement, stewardship and accurate income processing
- Oversee accurate daily and monthly bank reconciliation, working closely with the Finance and Fundraising teams
- Support initiatives to maximise engagement by calling supporters e.g. to welcome them to The Charity and to talk to them about Gift Aid
- Work with the Head of the CX team to create monthly reports to evidence progress and adherence to the team SLAs
- Manage complaints and assist other teams in responding to complaints, ensuring robust recording in the CRM
- Lead on new supporter care projects and activities
- Regularly review fundraising and complaint policies, updating documentation and processes as needed e.g. vulnerable persons policy
- Provide supporter care ‘consultancy’ for other teams and promote supporter care excellence
- Keep up to date on current fundraising regulations and legislation; share knowledge and best practice with the wider team
- Lead on planning, implementing and documenting team processes, striving to automate and improve wherever possible
- Facilitate and provide training to members of the team as required
- Support regular reviews of Gift Aid and ensure Gift Aid claims and income are maximised, working closely with the Finance team
- Identify volunteer opportunities and manage team volunteers, acting as a Volunteer Champion for the team

About the Role
As part of the Strategy, Finance, and Operations Team, the Insight and Evaluation Manager will be responsible for ensuring all teams have the right data to deliver, monitor, and fund our programme in a timely and effective way.
