• Manage the development and implementation of new versions of the postgraduate curricula for our specialities.
• Establish and implement necessary quality assurance mechanisms and initiative.
• Oversee the provision of support for ancillary workforce development initiatives.
• Undertake market research to evaluate the viability of proposed new workforce initiatives, targeting those with the greatest reach and impact.
• Lead, motivate performance manage and develop a team.

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Analyst to manage and deliver information, data, and analysis to help Youth Futures build evidence for impact.

This is an opportunity for an analyst with excellent analysis and data skills to work for a busy I&E directorate. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with two teams in the Impact and Evidence Directorate. A part of the role will also be working with other teams, such as policy and communications, to translate complex analysis and evaluation findings into accessible, user-centred outputs and briefings for internal and external use.

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds.  We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

ShareAction is recruiting for a Senior Research Officer (SRO) to join the LIPH Programme and help support the delivery of our broad portfolio of work. The focus will primarily be on our consumer health campaign (LIPH’s most developed campaign focused on driving more responsible practice in the food industry) but will also support other workstreams, including community health (a newer campaign focused on improving air quality) and driving up investor standards on health. You will ensure our work is founded on robust evidence by taking the latest information and analysis into account and helping to produce credible and compelling outputs across the programme.

What you’ll do (key responsibilities)

You will work on the following key areas:

• Consumer health, primarily focusing on the Healthy Markets Initiative.
• Community health, focusing on our Air Quality initiative.
• Investor standards, focusing on our efforts to improve investor standards on health.
• Maintain and, where applicable, improve our evidence-based approach across all workstreams.

Key activities across these areas of work will include:

Content production

• Writing, editing and/or fact-checking content through different channels, including investor briefings, presentations, case studies, reports and social media content.
• With support from your line manager, you will be developing briefs for outsourced research-focused deliverables that the LIPH team may need and, at times, acting as the lead ShareAction contact for our contractors.

Research and analysis

• Conducting mainly secondary research and in some cases, primary through investor interviews, engagements with civil society groups and/or coalitions, company analysis etc.
• Analysing and reporting on research data, and clearly presenting key themes and findings.
• Keeping up to date with the latest industry trends and issues relating to the LIPH programme.

Monitoring and evaluation

• With support from your team, you will be monitoring and reporting on the health-related practices and policies of companies.
• Supporting the Senior Project Officer in collating metrics for funder/other reporting.

External engagement

• W ith support from your team, you will be supporting external stakeholder meetings (e.g. contractors, research partners, investors or civil society groups).

Internal collaboration

• You will work closely with the Health team’s Senior Campaigns Officer and Senior Engagement Officer on end-to-end processes as well as peers across ShareAction to develop and disseminate good practice related to analysis and research.

Our ideal candidate is passionate, proactive and organised and will enjoy supporting hundreds of Team MRF runners who are fundraising to defeat meningitis.

Events Fundraiser

Salary: £23,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Bristol, hybrid or remote working with monthly meetings in Bristol 

MRF National Events Programme

The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.

Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.

The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

Role Summary

This role is all about working with people, encouraging them as part of Team MRF and supporting them to reach their fundraising goals. You will need to be enthusiastic, outgoing and thrive in motivating people to take action through their fundraising.

You will need to be an advocate for MRF’s work to defeat meningitis, enabling people to achieve their goals and achieving the best for the Charity. It is through the determination of everyone involved with the national events programme that we are able to deliver a number of our goals as a charity. You will harness that passion to help each runner succeed and understand what a difference they make along the way.

With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.

With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

This a fun role that sees the events through from start to finish and a great opportunity for the right candidate.

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this. 

Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD.  We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. This is an all-encompassing role for an accomplished and confident Personal Assistant to support the Founders and Director of Research of an innovative and ambitious charity and oversee the management of the Duchenne UK office.

The successful candidate will be highly organised with strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals, internally and externally. KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

The Role

As our Shop Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop including managing a Deputy Shop Manager and team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures.  
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards. 

• Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays. 

• Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment. 

• Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

• Be responsible for ensuring the team are working towards achieving all key performance indicators. 

• Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be ideally educated to A Level or equivalent. 

• To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable. 

• To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment. 

• To be highly organised with good time management skills. 

• To be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. 

• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• To be able to motivate self and others. 

• To have strong planning, guiding and motivation skills to successfully achieve targeted income is desirable. 

• To have good written and numeric skills are desirable.

Fundraising Manager – Job Description

Contract: 3 days a week

Location: Hybrid/home-based with at least half a day a week on site in Newham.

Reports to: Finance and Operations Mananger

Salary: £30-32k pro rata’d to 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve annual income targets in alignment with organisational goals.

· Work with the COO to develop long-term income forecasts to support organisational
plans.

· Identify new fundraising opportunities across all donor groups and develop innovative approaches to diversify income streams.

· Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to trusts, foundations, and other grant-making entities.

· Ensure timely and accurate reporting to grantors to fulfil grant requirements and maintain compliance.

· Support the organisation in the use accurate and relevant monitoring and evaluation data and individual stories, for the purposes of reporting and building a compelling case for support.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors at all levels (trusts and foundations, corporate partners, community organisations, etc), ensuring a positive donor experience and long-term support.

· Identify and secure new relationships with partners including corporate entities and community groups, to support our mission and objectives.

Person Specification

· Experience of trust and foundations fundraising in a charity is essential. Additional experience of other forms of fundraising is a bonus.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising proposals and reports.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with stakeholders including donors, volunteers, and partners.

· Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies and plans.

· Experience using Salesforce is a bonus.

About the role
