This is a new role within the communications and engagement team, with responsibility for helping our members to campaign and secure improvements to regional transport accessibility. The role is part of our work to achieve justice in society, where disabled people’s voices are amplified, and our message is heard and acted upon.

You will work across the north of England, mirroring the regions covered by the Sub-national Transport Body ‘Transport for the North’. You must live in this region to apply and undertake this position.

You will collaborate with Transport for All members, disabled people’s organisations, and civil society organisations, bringing disabled people together to share our views on accessible transport and make change. Where campaigning is already taking place, you will work alongside it, offering resources and practical support as desired.

You will need to stay abreast of transport developments in your region, and work closely with other teams to share your insights. This will ensure local disabled people’s experiences guide the national agenda.

Key responsibilities

1. Planning and development (10% of time)

· Plan regular activity across your region, considering staffing, budget, and wider organisational requirements

· Help to develop and deliver Transport for All’s membership offering, community building and local campaign support

· Keep Transport for All’s CRM and records up to date

· In partnership with your manager, create systems to monitor objectives against funding and organisational targets and prepare reports to evidence progress against these

2. Communication and community building (50% of time)

· Build relationships with local members, campaigners, disabled people’s organisations, groups and forums

· Represent Transport for All at meetings and events, including giving presentations on our work

· Organise and deliver regular member meetings online and offline, providing space for people to connect, share transport accessibility news and plan and progress campaigns

· Contribute and commission member content for the member newsletter, website, and social media

· Speak to the media and develop and grow a network of local members willing to train as spokespeople for meetings and media interviews

· Promote and grow a diverse membership in your region

· Ensure members can take part in paid opportunities via the training, research and consultancy team

3. Policy influencing and campaigning (30% of time)

· Maintain awareness of the policy agenda for your area

· Keep abreast of transport issues local members are experiencing

· Act as a conduit between members, the Insight and Advice team, and the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team

· Work collaboratively with the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team to form and maintain relationships with key regional stakeholders

· Coordinate responses to regional transport consultations in line with Transport for All positions, coordinating contributions from members, and giving guidance to members who wish to respond individually.

· Bring together and support members and campaign groups to influence local policy through local or national Transport for All campaigns. This could mean you will:

o Support members with campaign planning

o Provide practical support eg booking venues and access support for meetings, coordinating emails to local members

o Give guidance on technical aspects of transport policy

o Attend meetings with decision makers alongside campaigners, and representatives from the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team

o Publicise campaigns in local media

o Document campaigners’ experiences for others to learn from eg via website pieces or commissioned blogs

· Contribute to Transport for All’s understanding of overarching issues and contribute to national campaign planning.

4. Insight (10% of time)

· Share information about the Transport for All advice-line with members and the disabled community in your region

· Give updates on regional transport changes to the Insight and Advice team to support accurate advice giving and regional casework

5. General (at all times)

· Undertake any other tasks, duties or projects which may arise from time to time which are in line with the general level of this post and as instructed

· Undertake occasional evening and weekend work as required, and take responsibility for arranging time off in lieu with your manager

· Line manage and supervise members, contractors and staff as required

· Work within the Social Model of Disability

· Work in adherence to Transport for All’s values and staff policies

· Maintain confidentiality

· Attend staff meetings as needed

1. Understands transport accessibility barriers for disabled people, this may be from personal experience

2. Lives in, and has knowledge of, the Transport for the North region, including political and/or transport structures

3. Is confident representing an organisation and building and managing external relationships

4. Has experience of working collaboratively to mobilise campaigners, including running meetings or events

5. Has a track record of securing change through campaigns, activism, public affairs or political influencing

6. Has versatile written and verbal communication skills, including listening skills

7. Can demonstrate excellent teamworking skills with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across a remote organisation

8. Is committed to, and understands, the social model of disability, and disability justice

THE ROLE

The Deputy CEO will play a pivotal leadership role, working closely with the CEO to drive the organisation’s strategic vision, operational excellence, programme leadership, and financial sustainability. As a key leader, you will oversee critical functions, ensure high-impact programme delivery, and strengthen partnerships that expand our reach and influence. You will also act as a key external representative of The Girls’ Network, advocating for our mission and developing relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders. Additionally, you will deputise for the CEO as required, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

Deputy CEO Leadership

• Deputise for the CEO as required, leading key meetings, making strategic decisions, and ensuring seamless leadership continuity.
• Support the CEO in monitoring and reporting against The Girls’ Network’s operational performance, ensuring KPIs are being delivered in line with Trustees’ expectations.
• Support on budget planning and cost control, ensuring financial sustainability.
• Build positive Board relationships and act as an ambassador for The Girls’ Network.
• Ensure a crisis communications strategy is in place and manage risk monitoring and mitigation.
• Lead, support, and motivate staff, fostering a culture of high performance.
• Oversee internal communications, ensuring staff are informed and engaged.

Strategic Leadership & Organisational Growth

• Develop and deliver strategy and operational plans in collaboration with the CEO.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising to ensure sufficient income to sustain and grow programmes.
• Act as joint lead for organisational safeguarding (with the Head of Programme Delivery & Development), ensuring policies and procedures are in place and followed.
• Represent The Girls’ Network externally, speaking at events and strengthening strategic partnerships.
• Stay up-to-date on national and regional policy developments affecting girls, mentoring, and education.
• Embed a girl-centred approach to organisational development and ensure programme impact is maximised through innovation and the use of technology.
• Report to the CEO and Board on programmes and safeguarding.

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Provide strategic leadership for programmes, ensuring stability and growth in existing regions and identifying opportunities for expansion.
• Lead on innovation, piloting new programme elements, systems, and processes to enhance efficiency, impact, and revenue generation.
• Ensure programme decisions are informed by data, research, and organisational learning.
• Oversee quality assurance and impact measurement, ensuring consistency across regions and effective reporting on mentee outcomes.
• Oversee programme pipeline, targets, and income generation from schools, reporting to the Board.
• Maximise relationships with key stakeholder groups (mentees, schools, partners, ambassadors, and mentors) to enhance engagement, experience, and retention.
• Lead, support, and motivate the Programme Delivery Directorate, aligning OKRs with organisational goals.

Programme Delivery & Reporting

• Stay informed about best practices in mentoring, gender equality, and social mobility to ensure maximum programme impact.
• Use data and feedback to continuously develop and refine programmes.
• Ensure robust processes and procedures are in place to optimise resources and impact.
• Oversee the mentor network, ensuring engagement, retention, and a high-quality experience for both mentors and mentees.
• Support the Ambassador Programme Lead in integrating the Ambassador Programme with the mentoring programme.
• Report quarterly to the CEO on programme KPIs, including participant numbers, impact metrics, stakeholder perceptions, and regional variations.
• Prepare quarterly reports for the CEO and Trustees.

Management & Training

• Manage the Senior Programme Team, overseeing performance, development, and wellbeing.
• Support programme teams to deliver growth and impact targets with consistency.
• Ensure the Ambassador Programme is successfully implemented and contributes to an engaged network of former mentees.

Safeguarding Leadership

• Serve as Joint Safeguarding Lead, with accountability for safeguarding decisions.
• Oversee Designated Safeguarding Officers and ensure all policies and procedures reflect best practice.
• Review and approve key training materials, particularly those shared externally.
• Maintain oversight of safeguarding systems, including managing the safeguarding phone and any related rota.

Purpose of the role

The Alcohol Behavioral Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioral change related to alcohol consumption.

As a leading charity focused on alcohol harm reduction, the postholder will be Drinkaware’s internal expert regarding alcohol harm to individuals and will have a good understanding of brief interventions, as well as information, advice and guidance including quality assurance across our work. They will work across the organisation providing expert advice and guidance.

This role requires a deep understanding of psychological theories, behavioral science, and addiction, along with practical experience in behavioral interventions. 

Location:  Home-based with frequent travel to projects across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool

Contract:  Maternity cover contract, fixed-term to 17 April 2026 (or to the return of the substantive postholder, whichever is sooner)

As Project Support Officer you will support our Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation, and giving our volunteers a fantastic experience. Each of our Community Meal Projects is run by Project Leaders (volunteer position). You will support Project Leaders in running our Community Meals, and will give extra support to our projects as and when required.

This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, recruiting new Project Leaders for the Region, or attending Projects. The right person for this role is customer service oriented with great communication skills, enjoys being organized, has a can-do attitude, and understands that they are a key component in supporting our fantastic Projects.

There will be frequent travel to our projects in the North East, and evening and weekend work will be needed to cover our projects. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this rewarding role.

ULI Europe requires an experienced, highly-organised individual to work closely with the CEO of ULI Europe, Chair of the ULI Charitable Trust, Chief (Philanthropic) Fundraising Officer and VP of Business Development and Membership to administer and support the growth of ULI’s philanthropic fundraising work in Europe.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Fundraising will serve as the cornerstone of administrative support for ULI’s philanthropic fundraising initiatives in Europe.

 The role will report to the Vice President, Business Development & Membership on a day-to-day basis and work closely with the Chair of the ULI Charitable Trust and CEO ULI Europe. The role will have a functional reporting line to the Chief (Philanthropic) Fundraising Officer.

This position requires excellent organisational, administrative, and stakeholder management skills, particularly within the charity or philanthropic sector.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and management support to the philanthropic fundraising initiatives of the ULI Charitable Trust (and the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee) and ULI Europe, including fundraising campaigns, donation tracking, gift processing, and donor stewardship in cooperation with the ULI Finance team in the US. 
• Oversee and coordinate design and development of marketing collateral, presentations supporting fundraising campaigns, in collaboration with the ULI Europe Marketing and Communications team.
• Collaborate closely with the ULI Europe Business Development and Membership team, ULI’s country directors, and the governance director to support the planning and implementation of the European philanthropic fundraising strategy set by the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee.
• Coordinate and maintain relationships with individual and institutional donors,, in close collaboration with the corporate accounts team, CEO, ULI Europe and the Chair of the Charitable Trust / Chair of the ULIF Europe Committee;
• Work in close collaboration with Research & Advisory Services and ESG Programmes colleagues, to identify and research (third party) philanthropic funding and grant opportunities and assist in the preparation of applications for philanthropic funding from (third party) foundations and government agencies;
• Coordination of proposal writing for potential foundation funding, in close collaboration with the research, marketing communications and legal and compliance teams.
• Develop and manage internal processes for grant compliance, application tracking, reporting, and gift acknowledgement for ULI Europe.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Experience working in an operations, administration, or governance role within a UK or European charity, charitable trust, or foundation.
• Experience working in an international business environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• A track record of managing transactions or projects that required multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
• A quick learner who is able to adapt easily

Desirable: 

• Familiarity with UK or EU charitable compliance and reporting standards.
• Experience coordinating funding proposals or donor-facing reports.
• Proficiency in one other European language preferred.
• Real estate background desired, but not essential.
• Occasional international travel required.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field or similar experience.

The Black Researcher Consortium is a newly formed community interest company (C.I.C.), designed, developed and built by people with Black heritage, for people with Black heritage. The Consortium objects are to address the systemic under-representation of Black researchers across educational institutions, research organisations, government, and industry environments in collaboration with Black researchers, Black-led community initiatives and all those bridging the systemic gap, connecting Black researchers.

As the Chair, you will be responsible for overseeing appraisal process for board members and consortium director.

Main Responsibilities Include:

• Lead the Board in ensuring it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the Consortium
• Work in partnership with any executive directors
• Carry out an annual appraisal of the Executive Directors
• Chair the Board meetings and Annual General Meeting
• Represent the Consortium at events and on other related boards or working parties

With a Service Designer to support you, you’ll lead user research, prototyping, testing and iteration of new products and services. You’ll ensure our service transformation programme is working on scalable and sustainable products and services that meet user needs and strategic goals.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with excellent communication and analytical skills. You’ll enjoy looking for ways to optimise all elements of campaigns from creative, content and media testing and able to act as a key point of knowledge in this area. Experience of DRTV is required, with an understanding of individual giving fundraising KPIs, including in relation to: DRTV, print, telemarketing, email and landing pages. You will be confident working with data with attention to detail and accuracy, from briefing data criteria for emails to using excel to review and share results. You will also be able to engage wider stakeholders in our acquisition testing plan development, providing clear regular communication to update on progress and learnings. Most importantly, you’ll be keen to deliver insight and audience-led, best in class fundraising campaigns to help Brooke realise an ambitious acquisition growth programme. `
