About the role:

Call Back Officer/s will work within our team to provide support services. Hours for this role are flexible but would likely range from 12-6pm or 12-8pm for 2 days per week.

This role provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people.

Starting Salary: £15.46 per hour

Do you have experience in generating and sustaining charitable giving from individuals and nurturing a Friends scheme in the Arts education sector? Are you passionate about choral singing and its power to change the lives of children and young people and can you successfully advocate on our behalf to potential major donors?

The primary focus for the new role is to generate sustainable charitable giving from individuals, maintaining and growing our Friends memberships and developing significant income from major donors. We will also welcome input on stewardship of trusts and foundations if this is also your area of expertise.

We are a leading choral singing organisation and run residential summer courses for children and young people. Our artistic director, Ralph Allwood, founded the organisation 45 years ago, since when over 10,000 young people have benefited from our life-changing courses. Nowadays, around one third of students receive generous bursary support to attend a course and we also work with a range of partner organisations to encourage even more young people from diverse backgrounds to take part in our choral singing courses. We want to secure the future of the organisation and increase the number of students we can support by significantly growing our individual  giving.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to work up to 2 days per week on a freelance basis to help us move up a gear or two in terms of our fundraising, specifically to develop private giving from our extensive alumni network and the many successful individuals who feel music education at a young age made them the person they are today.

The main duties and responsibilities for the Heads of Development role are as follows:

INDIVIDUAL GIVING

· Maintain and build relationships with our donors, and identify new individuals who would like to see the Rodolfus Choral Foundation thrive

· Use contacts from the artistic director and trustees to generate new donors

·  Ensure that our top and potential donors are well looked after and researched, passing on key information to the Artistic Director and, where appropriate, arranging meetings between him and our donors

· Organise and co-host special donor events in unique venues

· Plan and help organise membership events for donors

· Help establish a legacy giving scheme for Rodolfus

· Have overall responsibility for reaching individual giving targets

· Ensure that data is accurately kept in our database in line with GDPR, and is harnessed to support our fundraising efforts

STRATEGIC PLANNING & REPORTING

· Develop a five-year Fundraising Strategy

· Set ambitious but achievable targets for each year, within the overall Rodolfus budget

· Contribute new ideas and find new opportunities for fundraising

· Produce quarterly fundraising updates for the Trustees

· Produce a fundraising report for the annual accounts, identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for development in the Fundraising Strategy

TRUSTS AND GRANT-MAKING BODIES

· Liaise with the General Manager to ensure a coordinated fundraising plan and targets, in keeping with the artistic vision for Rodolfus

· Proof and submit applications and be the point of contact for Trusts and Foundations (this work is currently supported by the General Manager and a fundraising consultant)

GENERAL

· Attend Team and Board meetings as required

· Be a passionate advocate at all times for Rodolfus

· Adhere to all legal requirements relating to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as all other company policies and procedures

Role Overview

As a member of the Joint Leadership Team, the post-holder will contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of cross-team projects, helping to influence and meet the charity’s strategic objectives. Specifically, they will lead projects and programmes to deliver improvements in quality and standards of health services for people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. In doing so, they will work closely with not only the  Director of Services & Evidence and Heald of Health Services, but also external stakeholders including health and social care organisations, academics, researchers and other charities.  The post-holder will also be actively involved in leading, supporting and developing the Health Services team.

About You

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of delivering health service projects and programmes and have come from a health services or medical charity background. You will be adept at developing operational performance metrics, strategies and objectives and have a proven track record in developing strong working relationships with external stakeholders. Whilst not essential, experience of managing and leading a team would be beneficial, as would be an awareness and knowledge of the needs of people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.

• Provide day-to-day management and effective leadership of the Library team, undertaking the full range of management responsibilities, ensuring their effective working against institutional priorities. This includes managing performance, conducting annual performance and development reviews, identifying training and development needs, workforce and succession planning, staff recruitment and induction.
• Work with academic staff and students to develop a comprehensive understanding of resource demands and ensure that resources and collections meet the learning and research needs of the institution.
• To work with the Head of Academic Operations in the development of a strategy for the library reflecting the vision of the Institution.
• In collaboration with the Head of Academic Operations set and monitor service standards and foster a professional environment of continual improvement, customer service focus and inclusivity across the team, delivering and embedding change where required.
• Ensure services, resources, policies and procedures are effectively promoted to stakeholders across relevant communication channels. This includes staff and student inductions, workshops and managing the library intranet.
• Manage the physical and digital library spaces, ensuring they provide effective learning environments to support stakeholder needs and to work with the Head of Academic Operations, identifying priorities and costs for the ongoing innovative development of these spaces and resources.
• Manage specialist archives and collections.
• Ensure the library team maintains the spaces consistently to a safe and professional standard.
• Proactively work with key stakeholders internally and externally to ensure effective service delivery.
• Review, revise and implement relevant processes, procedures, policies and supporting documentation, ensuring that they reflect best practice and regulatory changes.
• Effectively manage delegated budgets and resources, including budget forecasting, and ensuring resources are cost-efficient and used effectively to deliver value for money.
  Ensure that new and existing resources are fully utilised to deliver maximum benefits for students, staff and external stakeholders.
• To monitor new and emerging library and information management developments and legislation, identifying their impact and making recommendations to take advantage of them or reduce their risk in the university's activities.
• Represent the institution within appropriate forums such as SCONUL and the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience of managing library and information services and resources, including catalogues, collections and online resources
• Experience of working in a library setting in higher education
• Proven track record of managing budgets and financial administration
• Demonstrable experience of effectively managing staff and leading teams
• Experience using and/or developing digital resources
• Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders and collaborating on planning and service developments

The Community Development & Health Programme Manager is responsible for the ongoing strategic development of the programme area, as well as maintaining oversight of the contracted delivery across its broad but integrated remit.  The Programme Manager also has a responsibility to be visible in the communities we serve locally and to attend meetings, events and community profile raising within and without normal working hours, as needed.

This role leads the operational line management and direction of a multidisciplinary team of Project Managers, Seniors & Development Workers, who are themselves are responsible for designing, fundraising for, delivering & evaluating services and activities which cover the needs of the entire community, across the whole age range to meet identified community needs and with a range of VCSE and statutory partners. 

The aim of these activities, services and events is to deliver support, develop learning, and build VCSE infrastructure, capacity and sustainability to deliver individual and community changes for those facing challenges. These currently include community events; community hub development; youth and family work; emergency and community food provision through community supermarkets, East Sussex and Lewes District Food Partnerships; community capacity building; VCSE infrastructure support; healthy lifestyles activities and community-rooted approaches to addressing health inequalities; access to green, open and blue spaces for health and wellbeing; development of active travel; addressing environmental issues and climate change at a community level. 

This work is achieved through the coordination and development of appropriate partnerships, and initiating and delivering activities and services through community development approaches which are community-rooted and build stronger, healthier and inclusive communities.

With responsibility for bid writing in support of SCDA’s charitably funded activities and services, and collaboration on larger tenders for SCDA community initiatives & services, the post holder will ensure quality of provision and that those projects run to agreed budgets and schedules.

Main duties and responsibilities

Communications (30% of work)

• Write and publish short regular newsletters for GRP’s stakeholders, including portfolio donors, wealth adviser partners and donors to operating costs.
• Manage and publish weekly content for GRP’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn and Instagram.
• Manage and curate content for GRP website, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and maximising opportunities to attract new donors and supporters.
• Coordinate with GRP’s third-party web developer on website maintenance and regularly re-evaluate site structure/functions to maximise its efficacy and usability.

Event planning (30% of work)

• Lead coordinator for in-person and virtual events, in line with events strategy devised by Strategic Relationships Manager.
• Lead event promotion and liaise with venues, speakers, catering, attendees, videographer, graphic designer, etc to ensure events are well-attended and well-run.

Research (20% of work)

• Drive ad-hoc research projects to support GRP’s partnership-building, core fundraising and portfolio selection/assessment efforts.
• Analyse potential sectors and charities for inclusion in GRP’s charity portfolio.
• Identify and research high-quality trust and foundation leads in line with core fundraising strategy.
• Identify and research high-quality leads for wealth adviser or other corporate partnerships.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (20% of work)

• Manage GRP’s new CRM system (Beacon) on behalf of team, ensuring the team uses the CRM system consistently, accurately, and effectively. No prior experience with CRMs required – training will be provided.
