The role

As National Support Coordinator you will provide support to our members living with a rare neuromuscular condition, myasthenia, their families, and carers. You will work alongside three additional National Support Coordinators and a Benefits and Welfare Officer, ensuring our members receive the support they need, via telephone, zoom meetings and email.

We are looking for someone that is willing to work a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required. All evening and weekend work is agreed in advance.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within the charity/healthcare sectors or of a similar role.

A keen interest in or a knowledge/experience of charitable support provision is essential. We are a looking for an innovative self-starter to join our small national team of 15 staff. You must be an excellent communicator, with experience of using databases, ability to meet deadlines and work on your own initiative. if this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including access to specialist benefits advise.

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenia’s are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

The Role 

In this new role of HR Coordinator you'll work directly with the HR Manager,operating at the centre of our people operations. Working closely with our diverse teams across the Trust and external partners,you’ll ensure a seamless HR experience. 

You'll enjoy significant autonomy while receiving full support from the HR Manager, having the freedom to grow and develop in this generalist HR position. Key Accountabilities:

• Own the recruitment journey, from working with hiring managers in the crafting of job descriptions and compelling job adverts to welcoming new starters on board
• Get into the details of the employee life-cycle; onboarding, offboarding and everything in-between, making sure everyone feels valued and supported from day one
• Strive for continuous improvement in our HR processes and maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations
• Be involved in the development, implementation and management of supportive and user-friendly policies and procedures that are aligned with our values
• Coordinating online and face-to-face training for mandatory courses and skills development
• Alongside the HR Manager, you’ll be the go-to for colleague queries, providing guidance with consideration and confidentiality
• Supporting the HR Manager with strategic projects and programmes, including relevant HR process development

In this role you will be working to across two main areas of priority: digital tools and data management. You’re day-to-day will be coordinating all the digital engagement tools and platforms. This may include supporting member to member participation through existing platforms to scoping the technology market for new innovative ways to increase member engagement. With support from the Lead for Activist communities you will also manage all aspects of digital engagement data and work closely with the Data and IT teams to ensure data protection.

​Main purpose of the post 

We are seeking to appoint a Business Development Coordinator to join a wider team that spearheads RUSI’s research fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Director, Research Business Development, the successful candidate will enhance the institute’s business development activities by providing administrative and coordination support for business development, contracts, and risk management. Working closely with research groups, central services teams, and the senior management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that RUSI is well-placed to spot and respond to new funding opportunities and that our contracts are high-quality and executed efficiently. 

This is a highly collaborative role that involves building very strong internal relationships at all levels of the organisation and managing competing priorities and deadlines. We are seeking a team player with a pragmatic and positive attitude and excellent attention to detail, who will enjoy taking on new challenges, using your initiative to solve problems, and seeing your work directly contribute to meeting our short- and long-term goals.

​Key tasks 

Tracking, identifying, and sharing new funding opportunities:  

• Conduct research to identify potential funders and grant opportunities, populate and maintain a prospects tracker. Ensure we have an accurate and current map of relevant funders at all times to draw from.

• Manage the Business Development email inbox, ensuring we are registered to all relevant portals and that we are regularly checking funder portals that do not send notifications. Share summaries of relevant opportunities with the BD Director along with suggested dissemination plan, agree next steps and follow up with appropriate Research Groups.

• Support research colleagues to identify funders to invite to RUSI events and draft outreach emails.

Providing administrative and coordination support on bids, contracts, and new business activities: 

• Assist the Bids Manager with compiling information about RUSI as an organisation, its registrations, policies, organisational structure, banking and insurance details, financial information, and other generic details to be included in bid submissions and for due diligence. 

• Support the Bids Manager/Director of Research Business Development with administration and coordination of specific components on large bids.

Maintaining and improving business development processes and systems: 

• Ensure the business development team trackers (action log, new funding opportunities etc.) are accurate and up to date. 

• Work closely with RUSI’s Legal and Contracts and Finance teams to finalise funder contracts and ensure that final copies are saved centrally, and key information is distributed to relevant teams. Ensure that relevant and accurate funder information is tracked by the finance system for ongoing analysis. 

• Review drafts of subcontractor agreements and work closely with RUSI’s Legal and Contracts team to manage the process for preparing, securing approval, finalising, and sharing sub-contracts. 

• Act as central point of contact for the research funding pipeline, ensure it is functioning as needed and respond to ad hoc questions.

• Manage the team’s Sharepoint page, ensuring that it is useful and relevant for research colleagues, with high-quality templates and guidance.

• In coordination with colleagues on the Communications team, update RUSI’s customer relationship management (CRM) system with accurate, relevant and up-to-date funder information and develop and promote best practice for CRM usage for BD.

• Update RUSI funders on the website annually, ensuring that they are accurate and that we have appropriate permissions to acknowledge them publicly.

• Assist in preparing training materials and internal presentations, including by conducting data analysis. 

• Schedule regular catch ups with research groups, take and share notes in appropriate formats, update trackers. 

• Take accurate and useful minutes and share and follow up on action points after Business Development meetings.

• Establish strong working relationships with research teams, central service teams, and senior management.

• Assist with administrative tasks for the business development team as needed, including setting up tech (Zoom/Teams) meetings, coordinating diaries, and booking meetings.

Managing the institutional Risk Management process:  

• Be responsible for ensuring that risk registers are maintained and updated across the Institute to track risk within the organisation.

• Attend all Audit & Risk Committee meetings to update members on changes to the risk register, and take minutes for each meeting. 

• Work with the COO and Business Development team to ensure that RUSI has in place all policies and procedures across the Institute that are required by funders on various projects. 

• Assist the COO in keeping up to date with all Charity Commission guidance on charity operations and compliance.

​Essential Skills and Experience:  

• Professional experience in charity administration, business development, customer service, events management, account management or similar.

• Previous experience in grants administration or project management. 

• Basic knowledge and awareness of common requirements for bid submissions including such items as statements on duty of care, quality assurance, supply chain management, gender, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

• Experience in contract administration and completion. 

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent in business, international relations, or related field.

• Team Player – a genuine enthusiasm to help others, collaborate across multiple teams, and to see your work contribute to the benefit of the organisation. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with different personalities and manage confidential information with sensitivity.

• Excellent organisation and attention to detail – you can maintain, implement, and improve systems, processes, and databases to ensure that our data and outputs are accurate, thorough and up to date. 

• Outstanding time management skills and a willingness to work flexibly – juggling shifting priorities and competing deadlines, managing people’s expectations effectively. 

• Strong IT and Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe and PowerPoint)

About the role:

The MARAC Coordinator will coordinate, administer, and manage the operation of the MARAC. One of the main purposes of the role is to bring together agencies to ensure that local systems are truly keeping survivors safe, holding perpetrators to account, and preventing domestic abuse. A key principle of the post is respecting the independence of each agency and ensuring the MARAC’s key principles are survivor’s and children’s safety, offender accountability and giving a clear message that domestic abuse is s crime that will not be tolerated. The post holder will be located in Brent, and will meet MARAC partners in a variety of settings in the community. The post holder will also spend time raising awareness of the service, domestic abuse, and the MARAC in addition to training agencies on the MARAC and inducting new MARAC representatives on the MARAC.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. The post holder will also have a good understanding of managing a project.

About You:

 

To be successful as the MARAC Co-ordinator you will need the below experience and skills:

Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC.

Thorough knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures and legislation

A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and anti-discriminatory practice, safe practice and health and safety procedures

Experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, and crisis planning and successfully managing high numbers of referrals

A clear understanding of the coordinated community response to domestic violence and abuse, how it relates to MARAC in particular, and experience of the purpose and workings of MARAC 

Experience of supervision/coaching of staff or volunteers, of managing performance and achieving targets through review of individual and team practice

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; including report writing, data collection and monitoring

Good understanding of managing a project

• You will lead on the course rep recruitment plan and training, including the delivery of the lead volunteer program, maintaining a partnership approach to delivering the Course Rep scheme, through positive relationships with university stakeholders and Union colleagues.
• You will organise and deliver events and workshops for Course Reps around particularly issues identified as relevant to their academic community and support the Academic Representation Manager with any projects, consultations or research into the academic experience at MMU.

The project:

This role plays a critical part in coordinating the group offering for women accessing our services, as well as providing administration support across the region.

In short you will:

•    Be the first point of contact for clients coming to the Women’s Centre; offering a warm welcome and trauma informed approach. 

•    Hold responsibility for the Minerva telephone number and email account in your region. 

•    Assist in researching additional resources and events for service users; both within the Centre and across the region. 

•    Contribute to creating and lead on updating the local Services Directory with details of local organisations, key contacts and details of services on offer, including eligibility criteria.  

•    Assist the Service Manager in managing the smooth running of the Women’s Centre in your region, including managing the group workshops timetable, arranging meetings and booking external venues for client groups or training events.

•    Manage administration for the Kent Minerva team

•    Assist the Service Manager with the quality assurance and collation of data and information as required, including for funder reports.

Into Film is the UK’s leading charity for film in education and the community. We provide screen industry careers information and advice, support young filmmakers and bring the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching.

Role Summary

The Resources Coordinator role sits within the learning content creation team, which is responsible for the devising, commissioning and delivering of high quality, film-focused learning opportunities. These include the production of resources and online courses for teachers and their learners which are made available on our website, Into Film+ (our video-on-demand platform) and on our learning platform. 

Main Responsibilities 

• To produce high quality, exciting and engaging resources for educators and young people, including commercial resources for film industry clients. 
• To contribute to the planning and evaluation of resources within our three key areas of work: Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Filmmaking
• To project manage the resource process from initiation to publication or delivery.
• To assist the corporate partnerships team by contributing to pitches for educational resources with partners to support new film releases. 
• To contribute to the development of courses aimed at educators via our online learning platform.
• To evaluate resources, training, online materials and related areas of organisational interest through surveys, focus groups and other methods, to identify and implement changes and programme developments that meet Into Film’s and our audiences’ needs and priorities.
• To develop, with the rest of the team, reliable quality assurance processes and documentation for our resources, training and online programmes.
• To carry out external and internal training to a range of staff and stakeholders, including supporting internal staff with advice and information.
• To assist the resources and training leads in collaborating with external organisations and individuals to create resources and training materials.
• To develop and maintain good working relationships across the organisation and provide training, educational insight and administrative support.
• To attend meetings across Into Film and with external partners to provide resource and training guidance covering all areas of our work.
• To complete administrative tasks including supporting educators, uploading resources to our website and assisting with reporting on resources to stakeholders. 
• Copywriting, consultancy and research for Into Film News and Views and other marketing content. 
• To develop and contribute to the planning and filming of video content for resources or courses.
• To support staff across the four UK nations with resource production.

Person Specification

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of two years’ experience of teaching in the UK.
• Experience of creating resources which include moving image/film.
• Knowledge of the educational landscape across all four UK nations.
• Demonstrable creativity and commitment to making resources and training interesting and exciting for teachers/educators and students/young people.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to write accurately and correctly, and the ability to persuade and influence others and feedback ideas in a professional manner. 
• Experience of chairing and guiding meetings.
• Experience of managing a range of projects, from initiation to completion, working with a range of stakeholders. 
• Demonstrable understanding of monitoring and evaluation.
• Commitment to film as a powerful tool for education, both as a cultural art form and to engage young people and raise attainment.
• Current knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Desirable

• Experience in creating resources or opportunities which support young people’s careers education.
• Experience of filmmaking with young people.
• Experience of training teachers or other professionals.
• A love and knowledge of film.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Services based in the Dorset East area.

There will be opportunities to hot desk within Bournemouth and Christchurch, as well as Poole NHS sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to provide Key Worker support following a stroke.

Position: S11166 Stroke Association Support Coordinator (x2 posts)

Location: Home-based, Dorset East however, Frequent travel will be required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 2 x 28 hours per week

Salary: Circa £21,391 per annum

Contract: Permanent

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

The Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:

· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

· Provide personalised information, advice and support.

· Support stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.

· Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke.

About You

The post holder will have experience/background in:

· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.

· Setting up and running virtual groups.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.
