Teachers and educational facilitators wanted to help East London Waterworks Park deliver its environmental learning goals.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are seeking experienced teachers and educational facilitators to lead workshops and deliver engaging environmental education sessions to children and young people. Sessions may take place at schools or around the perimeter of the site we want to transform into East London Waterworks Park.
This role would include:
- Leading hands-on outdoor learning workshops
- Delivering nature-based activities to school groups
- Supporting the creation of ELWP’s Under 18s volunteering policy
- Supporting outreach efforts to promote ELWP’s existing learning programmes

You should be an experienced teacher, educational consultant, forest school leader, training and development specialist, learning designer, facilitator or any other kind of role creating learning projects, programmes and experiences. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park. Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park.
You will have a significant impact on the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds. At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to work on various platforms in new and creative ways, one of which will be Substack.
If you enjoy writing blogs or newsletters, are able to tell stories in an engaging way, this is the role for you.
This would include writing a weekly “point of view” piece that focuses on an area that Living Reasons engages in, whether this is research data reporting, lived experience storytelling or news highlight pieces.
Additionally to writing posts, you may also want to work with the social media coordinator to create video posts or even look at creating a podcast for the charity, the options are limitless as at Living Reasons, we encourage the entire team to bring ideas to the table and empower you to run with them, with the support of the organisation.

It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

2) Accessibility to services
3) Limited employment, training and education opportunities
4) Lack of support during times of crisis or need

At Living Reasons, we believe that real change comes from lived experience. To make sure everything we do is relevant, effective, and grounded in the realities of people’s lives, we are creating a Lived Experience Advisory Board.
This is a non-executive, advisory role. Board members do not carry trustee responsibilities but instead play a vital part in shaping and guiding the organisation. The insights and perspectives of our board members will directly inform the decisions of our trustees, helping us stay focused on what truly matters to the people we support.
How the Board Works

You'll be multitasking throughout the day, with a mix of responsibilities including customer service, ticket sales, promoting Gift Aid donations, shop duties, guiding visitors and providing information about the Museum and the collection. The Volunteer Admissions Assistant role is all about making a lasting impression and creating a memorable visitor experience. You’ll be:
- Welcoming and engaging with visitors, sharing information about the museum and its collection.
- Selling tickets and gift shop items, ensuring smooth transactions and great customer service.
- Collecting data for Gift Aid and marketing purposes, including how visitors found out about us.
- Creating positive experiences to encourage return visits and word-of-mouth recommendations.
- Helping visitors explore the Museum through interpretation, answering questions and distributing trails, accessibility and family activities.
- Maintaining the gift shop, including restocking, counting stock, and setting up attractive displays.

This role offers plenty of variety, and you'll play an important part in making every visitor's experience unforgettable.
Training and support:
All volunteers will first be invited for a training shift. We have an induction and training process, during which we give volunteers the information they need to enjoy their time with us. Training is mainly 'on the job', supported by an experienced volunteer as well as the manager on duty. Volunteers are given regular feedback and we remain open to suggestions on how we can improve the volunteer experience. The Admissions Assistant receives continued training and development throughout their time with us.
Availability:
We are looking for volunteers who would ideally like to donate 2-4 shifts per month, weekdays or weekends, either as a 10-1.30pm shift, or a 1.30-5pm shift, for a minimum of 3 months. Ideally, you will be able to start immediately, although this is not essential. Travel expenses up to £5 will be paid, with up to an additional £5 for lunch expenses if you are on a full day shift.
Please note: Applicants from some overseas countries are required to have a relevant work permit or student visa to volunteer in the U.K. We’ll need to see this for our records before volunteering can commence.

That is where I lived experience board of volunteers comes in. In essence that lived experience board is the driver for all that we do as an organisation and will inform, guide and develop the organisation.
The board is broken in to separate lived experiences which hold focus groups, support groups and communicated with each other to talk about members lived experiences, support each other and feel part of a community, while also using the voice and power of that lived experience to bring about change. The board chooses what information is passed on to the organisation and what is not.
Additionally, to the community aspects of the role, you will also be sent specific materials to share your experiences or take part in research or in new policy discussions or campaign ideas as the organisation evolves.
Additionally, to the specific lived experience groups, the full board can communicate with each other and will have periodic full board meetings that will allow people to share their experiences from various viewpoints, so that cross overs and shared experiences can become strength but can also guide the overall operation of Living Reasons.
For this role, all you need is to have lived experience of autism, ADHD, dyslexia or dyspraxia, either from a personal viewpoint, or as a supporter/care giver/guardian/family member. There will be two separate groups (one for personal experience and people who are supporting someone – this allows for different conversations to happen).

Who are we looking for?
At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to ensure that all of our operational activity, whether internally or with people who come in contact with the organisation, are having the best experience they can possibly have and that the work we are carrying out, the campaigns we are focusing on and where we are focusing our time and our money, is relevant and remains so moving forward.
That is where I lived experience board of volunteers comes in. In essence that lived experience board is the driver for all that we do as an organisation and will inform, guide and develop the organisation.
The board is broken in to separate lived experiences which hold focus groups, support groups and communicated with each other to talk about members lived experiences, support each other and feel part of a community, while also using the voice and power of that lived experience to bring about change. The board chooses what information is passed on to the organisation and what is not.
Additionally, to the community aspects of the role, you will also be sent specific materials to share your experiences or take part in research or in new policy discussions or campaign ideas as the organisation evolves.
Additionally, to the specific lived experience groups, the full board can communicate with each other and will have periodic full board meetings that will allow people to share their experiences from various viewpoints, so that cross overs and shared experiences can become strength but can also guide the overall operation of Living Reasons.
For this role, all you need is to have lived experience of mental health conditions, either from a personal viewpoint, or as a supporter/care giver/guardian/family member. There will be two separate groups (one for personal experience and people who are supporting someone – this allows for different conversations to happen).
This role will really drive change, not just in Living Reasons as an organisation, but in society as a whole.

We are seeking people from a variety of backgrounds to join our Policy Approval Panel. The purpose of the panel is to support the Workforce Professional Development Boards (WPDBs) by applying the appropriate scrutiny to the development and review of workforce policies developed by the sport and physical sector supported by CIMSPA.
The Policy Approval Panel will check whether the due process has been followed in the development and review of sector workforce policies such as professional standards, standards for deployment and apprenticeship standards. It will also check the accuracy of said policies, ensuring that anything issued to the WPDBs for approval is accurate and fit for purpose.
It is anticipated that the panel will meet three times per year ahead of the WPDB meetings but if there are no policies for approval of the board, the meeting will not be held.
An initial induction/standardisation meeting will be held in person, thereafter meetings will be held remotely with papers issued for review ahead of the meeting.

artsdepot is a prominent cultural venue located in North London, specifically at 5 Nether Street, Tally Ho Corner, North Finchley. It stands as the only multi-space professional arts centre in Barnet, London’s second most populous borough, which boasts over 400,000 residents. The organisation’s vision is “A Creative Home for Everyone,” with a mission to engage every family in Barnet with a creative experience by 2027.

About the role
The Chair will provide crucial leadership and direction to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that all Trustees are able to effectively fulfil their responsibilities. This role involves a close working partnership with the Chief Executive / Creative Director to ensure the effective implementation of Board decisions.
Key duties include:
- Acting as the leader and spokesperson of the Board, closely engaging with the Company and its activities, and representing artsdepot at external events when appropriate.
- Supporting the Chief Executive/Creative Director in fulfilling their duties.
- Serving as the decision-maker on urgent matters requiring Board authorisation that cannot await the next Board meeting, with all such decisions brought to the full Board for ratification and staying within agreed policy parameters.
- Leading and motivating the Board on specific issues, such as fundraising and advocacy.
- Providing leadership to the Board and setting its agenda.
- Ensuring the provision of accurate, timely and clear information to Trustees and assessing the effectiveness of both individual Trustees and the Board as a whole.
- Ensuring Trustees are given sufficient time to consider critical issues and realistic deadlines for decision-making.
As with all Trustee roles, the Chair will be responsible for holding the charity “in trust” for beneficiaries by ensuring artsdepot has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction, and actively pursues its charitable objects and complies with its Articles of Association.
