RISE is looking for an experienced feminist Housing Outreach and Sanctuary Scheme Caseworker (Maternity Cover) to work closely with our casework and housing team to work with domestic abuse survivors and their families with specific housing-related needs, providing support and guidance related to their housing needs and to their experiences of DVA.

Together with your team you will build, maintain and create links with Brighton and Hove City Council Housing Teams, other housing specialists and local authorities, private landlords, supported housing providers and providers of security solutions to deliver survivor-focussed, trauma aware support to help survivors both access and maintain housing.

Key responsibilities:

• Hold a caseload of their own and co-work with a team working with domestic abuse survivors and their families with specific housing-related support needs, providing support and guidance related to their housing/homelessness needs and to their experiences of DVA.

• Build, maintain and create links with Brighton and Hove City Council Housing Teams, other housing specialists and local authorities, private landlords, supported housing providers and providers of security solutions to deliver survivor-focussed, trauma aware support to help survivors both access and maintain housing.

• She will implement and coordinate the Sanctuary Scheme within Brighton and Hove to provide security options to make their homes safe with an Outreach / Sanctuary case load.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can bring significant income-generating expertise to a new challenge. You’ll sit lead our Outreach team, be a collaborative 'do-er' who leads inclusively, is passionate about our mission and wants to add value to our small team from day one. Purpose of the Role

The Director of Income role is responsible for leading our income generation. Our fundraising strategy is to significantly grow and further diversify our income, with a particular focus on corporate and trading income. The postholder will coordinate our fundraising activity, lead our Outreach team and work closely with the CEO to drive forward our income generation so we can safely deliver our ambitious strategy over the next 5 years. 

In particular, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating and developing our income function, converting our strategic fundraising objectives into operational plans, managing the Head of Outreach and representing the organisation externally. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership - we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and taking responsibility for our reporting. They will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes, Head of Outreach and Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to ensure we are communicating our value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make our work possible.

We do not see this as a traditional fundraising director role - we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet us where we are at by working confidently across Trusts and Foundations, statutory grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously. We are a small charity with 10 staff, so while we are looking for a decision-making and accountable leader, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. They will have a collaborateive spirit and the emotional intelligence to thrive in a small team. 

The postholder will lead the Outreach team (CEO, Head of Outreach, and Fundraising and Communications Coordinator), ensuring we work efficiently and together. We need a proactive and hands-on Marketing & Communications Manager to drive the delivery of the next phase of our communications and marketing strategies. 

This role is about more than messaging or promotion—it’s about co-creating and delivering a compelling and inspiring narrative of creative climate action. Along with our Marketing and Comms Leads, you will be responsible for our brand, storytelling, content strategy, and creative outputs - originating concepts, internal design work, and driving conversion - ensuring that everything we do reflects our values, amplifies our impact, and deepens our reach across the cultural and climate landscape. You’ll be responsible for independently creating, repurposing and distributing engaging content in a consistent voice across our digital channels. Key Responsibilities

Content, Socials & Campaigns

• Lead on the development of timely, engaging, inclusive content across all JB’s digital channels (including copy-writing across channels, website, newsletters and social media).
• Lead on a JB bulletin strategy, with pre-planned themes aligning with our aims and a readership growth plan (working closely with our Marketing Lead and CRM manager) as well as leading on the writing, preparing and distributing segmented bulletins for the sector and key programmes (with content support from across the team).
• Maintain, manage and optimise editorial calendars that reflect our programmes, partnerships, research, and events and regularly engage the programme leads in the process.
• Alongside the Comms and Marketing Leads, oversee and support the production, publication, marketing, distribution and evaluation of JB’s full range of content including podcasts, films, events, briefings, reports, guides and resource libraries related to the climate, nature and justice crisis, ensuring appropriate tone and key messages.
• Leading on the production of marketing and comms packs for outreach on key events and announcements, including associated thought-leadership pieces, and the production of a public annual report.

Our Service

Employment is a key part of mental health recovery. Our employment services are delivered in line with the IPS model, supporting people with mental health challenges to retain paid employment in line with their aspirations. IPS is delivered in close partnership with NHS mental health services, employers, commissioners and the wider system.

Due to receiving new funding we are excited to expand our WorkPlace Leeds service to develop our existing support in the community.

The Role

To provide an evidence-based IPS employment support service, delivered in a trauma‑informed, person‑centred and inclusive way, in line with Leeds Mind values and IPS fidelity standards.

You will be required to manage a caseload of clients who have experienced mental health difficulties and who are either unemployed or seeking to return to current employment following long term absence. You will be expected to deliver the IPS approach (according to the key principles of IPS). You will work with all relevant stakeholders, including employers, to support the client to gain and retain paid employment.

Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle. 
 
James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.    
 
James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 5,100 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.
 
In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.
 
THE OPPORTUNITY 
We are recruiting Senior Suicide Prevention Therapists to deliver our clinically proven, life-saving intervention at our James’ Place centre in London. 
As a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will work closely with the Head of Centre to provide strong clinical leadership and oversight while also delivering direct therapeutic work with men experiencing suicidal crisis and their supporter(s). You will play a key role in supporting the clinical team to deliver our unique intervention and to co-produce effective, individualised safety plans to help men remain safe.
 
You will work closely with the Head of Centre in London and the wider James’ Place leadership team to ensure strong integration between the pilot service and our established centres.
 
This role requires an experienced mental health professional or therapist with a strong background in suicide prevention, excellent risk assessment and formulation skills, and demonstrable experience of clinical supervision, line management, and leadership. Training, induction, and ongoing support will be provided by the Head of Centre in London and the wider James’ Place team.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
Senior Clinical Duties

• Work as a duty therapist to triage and assess suitability of James’ Place referrals daily
• Take full clinical responsibility of the men under James’ Place care, as a co-leader of the clinical team and in consultation with Head of Centre 
• Lead and support peer support sessions, caseload discussions and reflective practice with the team
• Create an environment in which confidentiality, privacy and dignity are respected and be clear with clients about limits of confidentiality
• Deputise for the Head of Centre when required 

 
Clinical

• Conduct initial Welcome Assessments with men in a suicidal crisis, assessing risk and the suitability of the James’ Place intervention and co-producing effective safety plans 
• Deliver our therapeutic intervention, building trust and exploring the reasons for crisis
• Use the Lay Your Cards on the Table intervention to encourage men to talk about and explore their feelings, attitudes and behaviours and develop positive coping strategies 
• Escalate care to appropriate services when necessary, including emergency services and secondary mental health teams 
• Deliver one-off guidance sessions to supporters of men under the James’ Place care
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to coordinate comprehensive care
• Undergo clinical supervision with a qualified supervisor to reflect on clinical work and raise any issues or concerns arising from work
• Remain up to date with developments in law, theories and research 
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Complete session notes in a timely and effective manner 
• Participate in continuous professional development and engage in training provided both internally and externally 
• Support the Clinical Administration team as and when necessary 

 
Leadership and Management

• Manage, support and lead Suicide Prevention Therapists, encouraging staff to develop and grow
• Conduct regular probation reviews, monthly 1:1s and annual appraisals with staff
• Conduct therapist case reviews to ensure work is completed safely, effectively and in accordance with James’ Place policies and procedures
• Confidently identify and sensitively communicate areas for development and conduct performance management reviews when necessary 
• Demonstrate and promote self-awareness and regularly dedicate time and space, inside and outside of work, to keeping yourself and the team well
• Provide support to access training and other developmental activities

• Work alongside the Head of Centre to actively increase contact with local community organisations able to refer to us or offer move on support for men completing our intervention

Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough is expanding its services to provide vital, community-based support to Doncaster residents facing the challenges of the rising cost of living and energy crisis. We are seeking a dedicated individual to deliver holistic and specialist Money & Energy advice.

Role purpose

• To provide Energy & Money advice to clients 

• To provide advice on how to deal with Energy Debts 

• To provide a high-quality advice and support services 

• A Benefit Calculation as part of Income Maximisation

• Energy Efficiency support & advice 

• Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning. 

•  Negotiate with third parties as appropriate. 

• Switching energy providers 

• Information and support on the Priority Services Register

• Check eligibility and provide Information about the Warm Home Discount 

• Any other possible Schemes / Grants available that can support the client with their energy issues

• Provide Advice on energy complaints and processes 

• Smart Meter information / advice

• Carbon Monoxide Awareness

• To provide Financial Capability and Income Maximisation advice to clients. 

• To share responsibility for compliance with the Projects targets and requirements.

• Ensure quality standards are met. 

• To work effectively with other partners to deliver a seamless service to clients

• Undertake service delivery at Outreach venues as required. 

• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.

• To contribute to the Research and Campaigns work of Citizens Advice Doncaster Borough.

Advice 

• To provide Energy & Money advice to clients on energy issues

• To provide advice on how to deal with Energy Debts, looking at wider debt issues and options, making referrals or taking action as appropriate. 

• Provide General Advice and assisted information to clients on energy issues

• Empower clients to act on advice and information provided 

• Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.

• Negotiate with third parties as appropriate. 

• Ensure income maximisation through the take up of appropriate benefits. 

• Provide advice and assistance to other staff across the whole range of advice issues. 

• Ensure that all casework conforms to the organisation's Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standard and/or the Specialist Quality Mark as appropriate.

• Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation. 

• Ensure that all work conforms to the organisation's systems and procedures. 

Research and campaigns 

•  Assist with research and campaigns work by providing information about clients' circumstances. 

• Provide statistical information on the number of clients and nature of cases and provide regular reports to management. 

• Monitor service provision to ensure that it reaches the widest possible client group. 

• Alert other staff to local and national issues. 

Professional development 

• Keep up to date with legislation and undertake appropriate training. 

• Read relevant publications. 

• Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the Team Leader and/or Line Manager. 

• Assist with Service initiatives for the improvement of services. 

Administration 

• Review and make recommendations for improvements to Citizens Advice services. 

• Maintain local information systems. 

• Use IT for statistical recording, record keeping and document production. 

• Keep up to date with policies and procedures relevant to organisational work and undertake appropriate training. 

• Attend internal and external meetings as agreed with the Team Leader and/or Manager.  

• Maintain close liaison with relevant external agencies.

Person specification

• Experience of providing Advice. 

• Effective oral communication skills with particular emphasis on negotiating and representing. 

• Effective writing skills with particular emphasis on negotiating, representing and preparing reviews, reports and correspondence. 

• Ordered approach to workload and an ability and willingness to follow and develop agreed procedures. 

• Understand the issues involved in interviewing clients. 

• Numerate to the level required in the tasks. 

• Ability to prioritise own work, meet deadlines and manage caseload. 

• Ability to use IT in the provision of advice and the preparation of reports and submissions. 

• Ability to monitor and maintain own standards and work as part of a wider team 

• Understanding of and commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service and its equality and diversity policies. 

Desirable Criteria

• Experience of providing General, Energy or debt advice would be desirable. 

• Experience of working to targets

• Experience of working in the voluntary sector would be desirable. 

• Ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively and a willingness to challenge constructively 

• Demonstrate understanding of social trends and their implications for clients and service provision 

• Have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel
