The Role
Lead on employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, sickness absence, and conflict resolution, ensuring consistent and fair outcomes.
Provide timely and accurate ER advice to managers and staff, ensuring alignment with employment law, internal policies, and organisational culture.
Maintain accurate case records and documentation for all ER matters to support legal

Build trusted relationships with staff and managers to identify and resolve potential employee concerns early.
Liaise with legal advisors when needed, ensuring cases are handled within legal frameworks and risks are minimised.

The Candidate
CIPD Level 7 qualified (or working towards) or compensating work experience.
Extensive experience managing employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Line Management experience.
Experience advising managers on complex ER matters and managing sensitive conversations.
Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to ER, including sickness absence management.
Understanding of the GDPR, DBS and NMC compliance requirements.
Competence with payroll systems, and Microsoft Dffice tools.

Key Responsibilities

1.Regular Reporting

• Forecast and create monthly cash flow as requested. 
• Report on cash reserve levels with reference to the reserves policy.
• Produce timely and accurate management and financial accounts information, as requested by the Director or Trustees each month, with full explanation on significant areas and variances from budgets, using accrual accounting methods.
• Prepare and send quarterly & yearly reports to the financial team of the International Board.
• Produce other reports and recommendations as appropriate or requested. 

2.Budgets

• Help to generate annual budgets. 
• Work with staff and Treasurer to identify risks & opportunities to help deliver within the budgets. 
• Facilitate financial support and guidance to budget holders.

3.Audit and Year End

• Prepare the information for statutory annual accounts for the auditors.
• Liaise with external auditors or equivalent, as needed.
• Submit annual returns to the Charity Commission on time. 

4.Controls, Procedures, Systems

• Ensure accounting process remains compliant with the appropriate Charities SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice).
• Manage the annual report process to ensure a quality annual report is produced with an accurate and dynamic reflection on the year that the report refers to.
• Provide support in reviewing, monitoring and developing an appropriate and effective financial framework (policies, regulations, procedures and controls) that are in line with MEM’s strategy and values.
• Ensure financial processes and policies are up to date, communicated to and understood by the staff team and the Trustees. Ensure they are also in line with any regulatory requirements.
• Ensure appropriate risk management techniques and financial controls are embedded throughout the charity at strategic and operational levels. 

5.Donor Support

• Deal with any donor queries that come by email.
• Maintain up-to-date records of donors, field staff and other contacts in the MEM’s database. 
• Support the team with gift acknowledgements.
• Set up standing orders and keep records. 
• Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations, and regularly submit Gift Aid reclaims to HMRC.

6.Financial Administration

• Input all financial data (income and expenditure) into organisation’s CRM, accounting and other relevant software.
• Prepare and follow up suppliers’ invoices for payment. 
• Make payments for all authorised invoices.
• Process expense claims and make payments. 
• Manage the banking of income (cheques and cash). 
• Schedule transfer of funds to the field on a regular basis, making sure the transfer statements have the right codes. 
• Act as one of the signatories for the bank accounts making amendments, payments and being a first point of communication with bank as required. 
• Liaise directly with the outsourced payroll provider. Prepare, submit and issue P11Ds and ensure appropriate payment. 
• Manage pension details and ensure contributions for all staff are made on time.

7.Other Duties

• Provide support during the recruitment process.
• Collate staff timesheets, keep track of holiday and staff sickness in line with MEM policies.
• Prepare and check monthly payroll details before sending to the payroll provider, including sickness reporting etc.
• Manage incoming post and liaise with Mailbox administration (mail will be forwarded to your address).
• Be the primary contact with the Charity Commission.
• Determine the insurance needs and negotiate suitable policies on a timely basis.
• Contribute to the general operation and activities of MEM’s UK team, attending meetings as required, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Careers4Change is delighted to be supporting The Social Change Nest in their search for a Senior Development Manager (mat leave cover).

Role Purpose:

The Social Change Nest is going through a very exciting growth period and since our Head of Development is going on maternity leave for 4 months from September we are looking for somebody who can join our growing team as soon as possible. The Senior Development Manager will contribute to our FY25/26 income targets and cover part of the functions of the Head of Development while she’s on leave. The Head of Development manages the Development team, which covers the business development, marketing and communications functions, and works with the CEO to ensure that the organisation grows in a strategic and balanced way.

The Social Change Nest is onboarding and supporting hundreds of new groups every year and we are working closely with funders across the UK and worldwide, helping them move large amounts of funding to unincorporated movements at the frontlines of social change. We are spending more time than ever raising awareness on how capital flows impact the ability of communities to create change, and how we can hack the system to enable more money to flow in an equitable way to unincorporated movements.

We are looking for somebody who is excited about all this and ready to hit the ground running. We are in the middle of a large capital raise, so we would like the ideal candidate to join the team as soon as possible to work closely with the Head of Development and the CEO, as well as the rest of the Development team, for 3 months, before the Head of Development goes on maternity leave. The Senior Development Manager will then take over part of the team support responsibilities of the Head of Development and share responsibility for the income targets with the CEO for the months that the Head of Development is on leave.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head of Development to deliver our Development strategy for the financial year FY25/26:

The Deputy Service Manager supports the Service Manager in effectively managing all operational matters within their designated services, including line management of frontline staff.

The Deputy Service Manager shares responsibility for ensuring that a holistic and cohesive approach to customer support is embedded across accommodation services. Look Ahead operates trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches, ensuring customers benefit from strengths-based support practices. The role requires an individual who embodies psychologically informed practice through their leadership style.

Oaklands & St Kilda consists of two supported accommodation services, each providing six mental health rehabilitation units for young people aged 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health-related hospital admission. The aim is to support young people to gain and develop the necessary skills for independent living and to manage transitions from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult Mental Health Services.

Together, these services support up to 12 young people at any one time, offering a welcoming, supportive environment on a spot-purchase basis.

The successful candidate will deputise for the Service Manager when required. This includes direct line management, leadership, coaching, and supporting Specialist Support Workers, Support Workers, and Waking Night Support Workers. Responsibilities also involve ensuring compliance with current legislation, contractual requirements, financial regulations, and Look Ahead's Policies and Procedures.

The role of Deputy Manager will involve five 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.

The Woodland and Nature Recovery Manager at Western Forest will manage the delivery of high-quality forestry, woodland and nature recovery activities within the Western Forest. This role ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) and focuses on woodland creation, agroforestry and sustainable forest management. Clean Energy Investment Manager

Position: Clean Energy Investment Manager

Hours: Full time (35 hours), or part time (minimum 21 hours); flexible working options available
Salary: £39,337 to £44,274 per annum. The starting salary will be £39,337, with progression linked to performance and successful completion of probation. Includes 9% employer pension contribution.
Location: Based in North Wales with regular travel across the region; hybrid and flexible working supported. Office hubs in Rhyl, Aberystwyth and Cardiff.

About the role
As Clean Energy Investment Manager, you will lead the delivery of the Clean Energy Fund across North Wales, supporting voluntary organisations to transition to sustainable, renewable energy solutions. You’ll develop and manage a pipeline of funding opportunities, assess business plans, and prepare high-quality lending proposals.

Your role will combine financial analysis, relationship management and strategic thinking, ensuring that funded organisations are supported from initial application through to long-term impact. You’ll become a trusted advisor and advocate for clean energy investment across the voluntary sector.

About you:

You’ll be confident working independently while building strong collaborative relationships across the sector. You’ll bring a blend of financial insight, interpersonal skills and a passion for renewable energy and social enterprise.

We’re looking for someone with:

• An understanding of the fundamentals of how businesses and charities run and generate income
• A recognition of what constitutes good governance in the voluntary sector
• The ability to read and analyse a set of financial accounts
• An understanding of the operation of the role and the operation of the voluntary sector in Wales
• An ability to identify and understand business and financial risk
• An understanding of renewable energy systems and how they are applied in the voluntary sector

Desirable skills:

• The ability to communicate in Welsh; the appointed candidate is expected to display an awareness of and support for the Welsh language.
• Experience in a lending or grant making environment
• Experience in the renewable energy sector
• Project management experience

The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential and bring experience in coordinating youth programmes in partnership with key stakeholders such as schools, military, corporate and educational stakeholders.  

The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, have a solutions-focused mindset and a proactive approach to overseeing impactful and inspiring delivery. Relationship building is a key aspect to this role, as is the ability to manage multiple workstreams, ensuring high standards of delivery and responding flexibly to challenges that may arise. 

The role will be responsible for maintaining and creating new relationships with school staff, local partners (including military, corporate and educational organisations) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people. Working closely with the Area Director South, the post holder will be forward thinking and help to grow JET’s presence locally through identifying new opportunities within Hampshire and Dorset. 

The post holder will be based from home, with a requirement to travel to schools and partner sites within Dorset and Hampshire (predominantly between Weymouth and Odiham). Fuel expenses are paid, and travel time is included as part of your working hours. Core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school term time only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that meetings with partners and colleagues, plus administrative tasks, are completed as required. You will be expected to work at least four days a week.

This role puts you at the heart of vital, life changing work, including accommodating emergency placements and supporting clients who may be arriving at a critical moment in their journey. You'll take the lead in overnight client interactions, ensuring that tasks are handled smoothly, whether by you or temporary staff under your direction. With guidance from Single Homeless Projects (SHP’s) dedicated out-of-hours management team, you’ll never be without support - even when working solo.
