Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care.
This role involves working on a rota pattern made by early, late, weekend and bank holidays.
What you'll do:
- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
- Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
- Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community

About this key role
As our Senior Caseworker, you will work with participants to agree and regularly review an action plan and help them to carry out actions on their plan via delivering one-to-one and group motivational advice and guidance. We will count on you to provide effective leadership, support and guidance to a team of Peer Advisors in the delivery of flexible services to individuals with complex needs to improve their employability skills and help them move into sustainable employment.
You will also be expected to organise the promotion of the project, coordinating the recruitment and engagement of participants and ensuring each participant has a comprehensive initial assessment of their employment and wider needs, plus develop excellent relationships with colleagues and local stakeholders and identify wider local services that can provide support to participants.
What we are looking for
• The ability to assess the needs of vulnerable clients and provide client-led support to address these needs in a variety of ways
• Thorough understanding of the principles of needs and risk assessment, and care co-ordination/planning, and the ability to coach others in these skills
• Proven record of supervising and supporting a team of volunteers to deliver positive outcomes for vulnerable people
• The ability to use monitoring systems to record all aspects of project activity
• Experience of maintaining accurate financial records and evidencing all spend
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Deliver daily programmed activities encompassing both formal and informal learning
- Develop Learning and Engagement (L&E) activities and resources for both formal and informal learners of all ages and abilities

We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.
We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. Half Time is our brand new Explore-Respond resource which uses sports-themed videos and fun games to help the 95 to explore the life of Jesus by journeying through Mark’s Gospel.
About Activate
Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith. Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms. A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project.
In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities. The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes.
About your team
With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides. We’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years and believe that a vibrant sports ministry can contribute meaningfully to this.

You will be a Christian, qualified accountant with proven experience as an international finance leader, having implemented new systems and worked across multiple jurisdictions. Experience of the charity/humanitarian sector and an understanding of the complexities of in-country programme management would be beneficial. This role exists to promote and support DAHA Accreditation among housing providers and local authorities, ensuring they embed effective and survivor-centred responses to domestic abuse. Its main goal is to drive system and culture change in the housing sector, improving safety, support, and outcomes for survivors of domestic abuse through the implementation of DAHA's nationally recognised standards.
The role directly contributes to Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse's mission by embedding domestic abuse best practice into housing systems at both strategic and operational levels. By building partnerships, delivering training, supporting accreditation, and influencing policy, the role ensures the housing sector plays a proactive part in a coordinated community response—ultimately helping prevent abuse, safeguard survivors, and strengthen institutional accountability.
This role addresses the critical gap in how housing providers respond to domestic abuse. It helps standardise and raise the quality of responses, ensures survivors receive safe and appropriate support, and builds capacity across housing systems to prevent harm and hold perpetrators accountable. The Barnsley Street Project is a pilot service funded by NHS money following a bid by East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT). The service comprises of Look Ahead staff, ELFT staff, and Tower Hamlets Mental Health VCSE Alliance, formed of 17 local VCSE organisations. The Barnsley Street Project operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support for people in the catchment area of one primary care network in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets. It provides a variety of psychosocial and clinical interventions, including the provision of 6 Hospitality Beds for short term support and intervention.
Support Workers within the Barnsley Street Project will be expected to support individuals requiring support from the local community that walk in to the service and those staying in our hospitality beds. This support may include providing tailored and co-produced practical, emotional, trauma-informed support to individuals with a variety of challenges relating to their mental health. This may include the management of symptoms, social support, navigating benefits and welfare systems, practical skills and signposting to specialist services in the local authority for intensive or specific support as required.
The shift pattern for this role involves two 13-hour shifts per week (07:30-20:30), including Wednesdays.

The Education Access Coordinator will equip young asylum seekers and refugees to access further (FE) and higher education (HE) through advice and guidance, 1:1 casework and training for other professionals.
This role sits within the Education Access team: everything we do is focussed on supporting young refugees and asylum seekers into an appropriate form of education from primary school right the way up to university.
The team is separated into three work streams: access to schools, access to FE and access to HE. We also run a national email and telephone advice service through which young people, their families and the professionals who support them, can receive timely and accurate advice and support about any aspect of accessing education in the UK.
This role straddles the access to FE and HE streams of work and, although it would be helpful to have some experience of working in these sectors, our experience is that this knowledge can be taught and is not as important to us as other qualities and experience.
The successful candidate will, however, need to be able to understand and retain a great deal of complex information and then clearly articulate this to others both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate would be someone who would relish becoming an expert in refugee access to FE and HE and would enjoy the problem solving element of navigating complex regulations to find the right solution for an individual struggling to access education.
The successful candidate will also need to have experience of and enjoy working with vulnerable young people both individually and in groups. A key element of this role is ongoing casework with individuals - where you will need to build a supportive and trusting relationship over the long term - alongside running one-off workshops for large groups where the priority is to quickly gain young people’s confidence and attention.
Finally, the successful candidate will be responsible for representing REUK’s access pillar externally. You will co-deliver training to a high standard as well as maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, FE colleges, universities and other NGOs - it is therefore imperative that you have excellent people skills.
This role can be done 4 or 5 days per week, depending on preference (salary would be pro rata for 4 days).

We're Hiring: Advocates - London Stalking Support Service, Stalking Threat Assessment Centre and National Advocacy
In partnership with MOPAC, this specialist role is your chance to support victims of stalking with expert advice and advocacy for London, all while hlping to shape a trauma-informed, survivor-led approach that leads the sector. The Stalking Threat Assessment centre is a multi-agency partnership involving the Metropolitan Police, NHS mental health services and Probation services to effectively manage stalking perpetrators and support victims. Advocates within this team are co-located within the STAC unit, minimum one day a week.

Initially office-based (London) for 3 months to support a meaningful induction, moving to a blended working model (40% office / 60% home). While London-based candidates are ideal, we'll consider applicants from nearby areas too.
