About the Role
 
Reporting to the Head of Operations and supported by 6 team leaders and central reporting and administration support, success in this hands-on leadership role is about how you support, coach and develop our capabilities for the future across a diverse range of services and projects.
 
A hands-on and mobile role you provide leadership and support to the services team leaders in each of our service locations and play a key role in developing and enhancing relationships with commissioners.
 
You will guide and support the teams in managing and improving their services so they run to the best of their ability and meet funder requirements. You will coach and innovate our services delivery, identifying and shaping new opportunities to achieve our mission.
 
You will build strong relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders including contract managers, agencies and other bodies offering support to clients to identify new opportunities.
 
You will:
• Bring proven management experience in delivering impact in domestic abuse or similar person-centred services
• Be open and approachable, able to bring empathy, trust and diplomacy to dialogues with staff and the families that we support
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of safeguarding and how to assure its effectiveness
• Have experience of monitoring and reporting against business plans, budgets and KPIs and in developing or contributing successful funding bids
• Demonstrate creativity and imagination in developing and delivering person centred and innovative services

An exciting opportunity is presented to work for SARC as our new Centre Manager making a real difference in tackling poverty and disadvantage for local people in the Southampton area. Responsible to the SARC Board this role may also require work in other locations and some occasional evening work.

As our Centre Manager you will have overall responsibility for the effective management of the charity and its assets, as well as for the development, delivery and sustainability of all its activities and functions.

We need someone with experience of working in an advice and representation role and preferably with experience in managing a busy small advice team. Working closely with the Board you will make a major contribution to setting the organisation’s vision, values, strategy and direction.

Responsible for the development and planning of advice and representation services which improve the health and wellbeing of Southampton residents and more widely where funding and resources permit, you will also have responsibility for securing the financial, physical, technological and other resources necessary to maintain and expand provision in response to identified need. The post carries responsibility for risk management, safeguarding, and for ensuring legal compliance with charity and company law and that SARC maintains AQS standards for our services.

Pensions

SARC operates a company pension scheme. SARC will contribute 4% towards the scheme. Staff are encouraged, but not required, to make a contribution to the scheme which they can do up to the HMRC limit of contributions.

Annual Leave

The annual leave entitlement with pay for full time staff is twenty-five days in each year rising annually to a maximum of thirty days.

We are looking for a talented and dynamic fundraiser or marketer to join our Fundraising Team in the role of Individual Giving Manager. This is a new and pivotal role, leading and developing UK-Med’s individual giving programme - including appeals, donor acquisition and retention, and developing longer term forms of giving like regular giving and legacies.

This role joins us at an early stage of our public fundraising programme, so there will be lots of opportunities to learn, test new initiatives and shape the function. This role is ideal for someone with ‘Officer’ or ‘Senior Officer’ experience in public fundraising or direct marketing, who is looking to take the next step in their development.

• Have worked in public fundraising, individual giving or direct marketing.

• Have experience of delivering to income/sales targets and KPIs.
• Have delivered or supported a variety of campaigns including direct mail and email.

About the role:

At the heart of Camden’s mission to end rough sleeping, the Gray's Inn Road project offers short-stay accommodation for 16 individuals experiencing some of the most challenging periods in their lives. Funded by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Greater London Authority, and delivered in partnership with One Housing Group and Camden Council, this service plays a pivotal role in ensuring rough sleeping in Camden is not only rare but brief and not repeated. Residents typically stay between three to six months, during which time the focus is on creating pathways into safe, sustainable housing and renewed independence.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering trauma-informed, psychologically informed support. You’ll work closely with clients facing overlapping challenges including homelessness, poor physical and mental health, substance use, trauma and histories with the criminal justice system. With your own caseload, you’ll conduct in-depth assessments, build tailored support plans and facilitate interventions that reflect the needs, strengths and aspirations of each person. Every day brings new opportunities to connect people with education, training or employment, to help them rebuild practical life skills, and to foster progress towards long-term goals.

This is a role where no two days are the same, and the impact you’ll make is tangible. From supporting someone through a housing move to witnessing the first steps towards recovery or reconnection. You’ll work alongside a wide range of services including Camden Routes off the Streets, Inroads, Connect Forward and the Adult Pathway, as well as contribute to the operational running of the service and uphold high standards in safety and compliance. Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Engagement team as our Campaigns Manager. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. This role will a hybrid position working between home and our office in King's Cross, London, with a minimum of 2 office days a week.

Sense campaigns to create a fairer society for disabled people and their families. Sense campaigns focus on the issues that matter most to the people we support, from the cost-of-living to social care. They are aimed at driving public awareness, engagement and positive change in people’s lives. We are looking for an experienced campaigner who is passionate about driving change, and able to lead organisational projects. You will play a leading role in campaign strategy for the organisation and help Sense really make an impact for disabled people and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the development and delivery of Sense campaigns, working alongside the Head of Media & Campaigns and Head of Policy, Public Affairs and Research.
• Decide on campaign priorities and make recommendations on the most appropriate course of actions to achieve Sense’s campaigning and influencing strategy.
• Ensure Sense has a consistent narrative and that disabled people and their families remain at the heart of our campaigns, that Sense is a sector leader in terms of campaigning, and that we are compliant with new charity regulations.

Our client is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for vulnerable women affected by homelessness. They offer support to women with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues and domestic violence, and provide these support services in a warm, welcoming and secure environment. They are now recruiting for a strong and supportive manager to help lead their Support Services. This role is initially a 6 month fixed term contract.

As Support Services Manager, you will line manage a team of frontline staff and will oversee the Support and Night services, consisting of 30 bed spaces for women with high support complex needs; the service aims to offer holistic support to these women, working alongside a range of partner organisations to facilitate a step-down move-on for women into semi-independent living. You will work to create and maintain key partnerships, continually ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to all service users of the Project.

To be considered for this position, you must have significant housing management experience, as well as extensive knowledge and appreciation of the challenges faced by homeless women. You must have demonstrable experience of leading frontline staff, as well as significant safeguarding experience. You will also have proven working experience of contract monitoring and of setting and influencing strategy. Ultimately you will be enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to leading a team to deliver the best quality of support to vulnerable homeless women.

Role: Full-time* Trust & Foundations Manager

School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) is an education charity that exists to empower and support young people living in complex and challenging circumstances. SOHK is at a new and exciting stage of development. OVERVIEW

The Trusts & Foundations Manager will play a central role in shaping SOHK’s future growth. They will lead on major grant applications, support targeted bids aligned with regional delivery, and manage relationships with existing charitable funders.

Around one-third of SOHK’s £1.5 million income currently comes from grants, with active partnerships including major funders such as the Garfield Weston Foundation and Impetus. Sustaining and growing this income will require proactive research, strategic outreach, and a highly organised, detail-focused approach to both applications and stewardship.

The role works closely with the CEO, who is committed to leveraging their time and networks to support fundraising success. The post-holder will also collaborate with Regional Directors and other fundraising colleagues, while enjoying a high level of autonomy and contributing to the long-term direction of SOHK’s Trusts & Foundations strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop and submit high-quality funding proposals, including applications for six-figure and multi-year grants, by meeting appropriate deadlines and tailoring applications so they appeal to different funder priorities
• Manage and develop a strong pipeline of Trust & Foundations funders for future years, including researching and prospecting new leads through active outreach
• Work with the CEO, Regional Directors and overall fundraising team to identify key funding priorities and strategically deploying the capacity available
• Develop and keep the fundraising CRM updated as a central source of trusts and foundations knowledge, clearly identifying funding gaps and adjusting targets
• Strengthen existing funding partnerships through warm stewardship and efficient grant reporting, maximising the charity’s chances of repeat funding
• Build upon the organisational strategy for scaling trusts & foundations income

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Demonstrable track record in leading on successful medium and major grant applications, including six-figure and multi-year grants
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to present a compelling case for support to a variety of funders
• Comfortable in understanding and presenting financial information and in creating budgets for grant applications
• Experience with CRM/fundraising databases for tracking applications, deadlines, and relationship management
• Highly organised and proactive, used to taking the lead on managing a large volume of potential grants in line with the submission dates
• Confident in liaising and engaging with external organisations, including building new relationships with potential funders who are invite-only
• Enjoy working across different teams within an organisation, bringing in new perspectives and utilising the assets and expertise of current staff for fundraising purposes

The Direct Marketing Manager has operational and strategic responsibility in developing and implementing the Islamic Relief UK direct marketing programme. This includes the following key direct marketing channels: Email, SMS, Direct Mail, OOH and DRTV. The postholder will ensure the delivery of cross-channel, high profile and impactful marketing campaigns that drive action and improve supporter retention.

Knowledge, skills and attributes required:

• Educated to Degree level, or equivalent standard
• Professional qualification in Marketing

We are seeking an individual who is experienced in charity sector work and is enthusiastic about building community and assisting people in hardship and poverty. The ideal candidate will have a vision for how to help the charity reach it’s potential and continue the legacy of excellent advice provision and community development that is already established. The new Centre Manager will be comfortable providing light touch Christian spiritual leadership for the work as a whole. They will have good experience and knowledge of fund-raising and bid-writing, a background in the charity sector and a good awareness of welfare rights advice work

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, dynamic and enjoy leading a small team of staff and volunteers. They will have a high level of English language skills both written and oral and will be a good listener able to empathize with people in distress.
