Research & Fundraising Volunteer
Role Profile
Main objective:
- To assist with grant writing and research efforts to secure the necessary funding for Indigo’s operations
This role requires experience in sales, fundraising and/or events management and reports to Indigo’s Marketing Manager.
Hours: 10-20/week
Duration: 4 months
Location: Remote Working (must be based within the GMT to GMT+3 timezones)

Purpose: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated intern to join our team and assist with fundraising initiatives and research efforts. This role is vital in order for Indigo to keep our services running and provide support to our partners, volunteers, and ultimately the refugees we serve. Funding will help us sustain our current operations, and also to grow our pool of volunteers, put on more training for our partners, expand our network of charity organisations receiving Indigo’s support and much more. You will be working with and supported by Indigo’s fundraising team, and will be expected to meet twice/week to discuss progress.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential sponsorship opportunities and assist in developing sponsorship packages to present to local businesses, corporations, and organizations.
- Research and apply for relevant grants, funding programs, and sponsorships. The research will also involve calling any relevant groups.
- Assist in adapting our fundraising materials, including grant proposals, sponsorship pitches, and donor appeal letters.
- Assist in managing donor and sponsor relationships, including maintaining communication, tracking contributions, and providing necessary follow-up.
- Help maintain a fundraising database and generate reports on fundraising progress and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Indigo team to set and achieve our fundraising goals.
- Provide general administrative support to the team as needed. Skills & Experience
- Strong interest in cultural diversity, community engagement, and event planning.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, proactively and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Google functions (Google docs, etc) and familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Previous experience in sales is preferred.
- Prior experience or coursework in fundraising, nonprofit management, or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
- Interest in working remotely, managing your own time and multitasking.

Purpose of the role
As our Tech & Systems Coordinator, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of Indigo's digital ecosystem. From troubleshooting tech issues to leading on our customer journey development strategy, your expertise keeps our systems running smoothly, allowing us to focus on making a positive impact. This role is vital for Indigo to keep our services running and support our partners, volunteers, and, ultimately, the refugees we serve.
Responsibilities
Workspace Management

Oversee Google Workspace, Salesforce, Slack, Wix, and other platforms, ensuring they are optimised for efficient use.

Identify and implement integration needs across different platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack).

Ensure our data stays clean, secure, and up to date, and that we use the appropriate tools and formats throughout our daily work.

Ensure GDPR compliance across our systems and processes.
Operational Efficiency

Ensure that Indigo’s operations keep running smoothly at all times.

Serve as the main point of contact and troubleshooter for all system and process issues.
CRM Management & Development

Lead on Salesforce administration.

Contribute to the strategic development of Indigo’s customer engagement journeys.

Operations Officer Volunteer

Purpose
We are seeking a motivated Operations Officer to join our team as a volunteer. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of our organisation, providing vital support to the Interim CEO and contributing to various aspects of our operations, including administration, HR, reporting, project management, and more. The diversity of this role means every week will look a bit different! This role is vital in order for Indigo to keep our services running and provide support to our partners, volunteers, and ultimately the refugees we serve. You will be working with the Interim CEO and supported by the rest of the Indigo team.
Responsibilities
Administrative support
- Liaise with the CEO on managing day-to-day operations and engaging external stakeholders.
- Keep record of documents and day-to-day information in line with the organisation's data management efforts
- Support with project management tasks such as keeping and circulating minutes, as well as monitoring & evaluation.
HR & Recruitment
- Support the recruitment process by posting job listings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews.
- Assist in the account set up and onboarding new team members.
- Identify and organise training opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.
Optional Involvement in Other Areas
- You will have the opportunity to contribute to budgeting, fundraising efforts, research projects, partnership management, and marketing activities based on your skills and interests.
- Collaborate with various teams within the organisation to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
Internal Risk, Compliance and Policy Work
- Support the Board of Trustees in conducting a full internal governance review every 18 months.
- Support in sustaining our GDPR compliance and data protection efforts throughout our work.

Remote – Co-hosts are responsible for providing their own home office
equipment including appropriate internet connection and laptop/computer
Period
Your co-host hours will be depended on the training session schedule, and
co-hosts are free to support as many sessions as they wish, in agreement with the line manager. The agreement will be valid until December 2023
Other
A co-hosts monthly fee/reward is based on the number of training sessions co-hosted. Payment is to be transferred upon the invoice from the volunteer. Training will be paid on the following rate:

ABOUT THIS ROLE
RedR UK coordinates projects and programmes across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America. These include facilitating online training modules on a variety of topics, from climate change adaptation to safety and security. These modules are interactive, participative and facilitated by
a dedicated expert trainer. The main responsibility of this role will be to provide co-hosting support to the trainer before, during, and after the live online modules in collaboration with RedR UK’s Programme staff.
The co-hosting support entails the following specific tasks:

Manage communications with training participants before, during and after the training;

Coordinate with trainers and interpreters;

Offer support to trainer during the Zoom training sessions (including, but not limited to):

Set up interpretation in Zoom;

Ensure the polls are established and launched, set up break-out rooms, share documents, instructions and links in the chatbox, etc;

Share screen with presentations or videos, if needed;
-
Admit participants and offer technical support, if needed.

Any other task that the trainer may require.

Update of RedR UK database (Salesforce).
Training modules range between 60 min to 180 min. It is estimated that the administrative support would take around 30 additional minutes per each iteration of a module.
RedR UK will provide the co-host with detailed guidance on tasks, training, as well as the opportunity to shadow another co-host before starting. Co-hosts will also get the opportunity to be involved with a wide variety of training, particularly suiting those wishing to enter the humanitarian sector.
