FareShare UK's pioneering Surplus with Purpose scheme works with businesses across the food industry to help cover the extra costs of redistributing their unsold food to people who need it and preparing unfinished surplus food for redistribution.  Surplus with Purpose helps FareShare redistribute thousands of tonnes of surplus fresh fruit and vegetables to charities and community organisations that need it.

Run by charity EMERGE 3Rs, FareShare Greater Manchester (FSGM) is a major food re-distribution charity in the city-region, fighting food poverty and hunger and tackling food waste.We are excited to add a new Driver/Warehouse Operative to our team to help us run our Surplus with Purpose scheme, as well as to support our normal daily operations. 

A typical day will include carrying out the daily van safety check, collecting your order lists from the Food Allocations team and then picking the fruit & veg for each order, which will be between 400kgs and 800kgs.   After safely building the pallets, you'll load them onto the van and then unload at the Community Food Members' (CFMs) site.  You'll collect their empty trays and return them to our Warehouse, perhaps stopping to refuel on the way, where you'll take on Warehouse duties as required e.g. picking orders, cleaning, goods-in, stock rotation etc.

You are the face of FSGM to our CFMs so you'll need top notch customer service skills, excellent communication skills and a commitment to working in a culturally sensitive way.  It's a physical job so you can comfortably lift up to 25kg at a time repeatedly and throughout the day.  For insurance purposes, you need to be at least 25 years' old, with experience of safely driving commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. If you have a licence for driving larger vehicles (up to 7.5 tonnes), even better.  The salary offered will reflect the driver qualification you have.

Location: You can be based near one of the following office locations - Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, or Newcastle.

We operate a hybrid model of work i.e. a combination of in-person and remote, with flexible days in the office depending on business need and your preferences. We would typically expect in-office attendance an average of one day per week.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: We are looking for the right candidate and while we envisage this being a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) we are very open to flexible working arrangements such as part-time, compressed hours, flexitime and job-shares. 

Occasional/frequent evening or weekend work may be required, for which time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given.

The Opportunity

The Finance and Operations Officer’s purpose is to work within the Operations Team to provide essential financial and operational support for the whole charity.  
 

Key responsibilities for finance range from providing advice and support for the whole staff team, important day to day and monthly financial processing for key stakeholders and assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process. 

1. Finance

• Support the Finance and Operations Manager (FM) to prepare and deliver accurate and regular management information including monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts, one-off finance reports, reporting for funders including grants and trusts, including end of project reporting. 
• Monitor the day-to-day financial management and cash flow of the Social Mobility Foundation (SMF) working closely with the FM, Head of Finance & Operations (HFO), Operations and Fundraising teams. 
• Prepare payment runs for invoices and expenses, update weekly payments received reports and work closely with the Fundraising team to ensure expected income has been received. 
• Support the FM, alongside our appointed accountants, to prepare audited Year End Accounts, and work to ensure the Accounts are completed, approved, and filed on time. 
• Support the FM to manage and improve our financial systems and procedures, streamlining internal processes to ensure they are effective and safeguard the finances of the organisation.  
• Support the FM to devise and implement effective and efficient procedures, including the introduction of a purchase order system. From time to time, you may be requested to support the FM to maintain the payroll function of the organisation. 

 
2. Operations and Administration 

• Support the organisation, in ensuring that all staff and volunteers are aware of and trained in the relevant Data Protection policy and procedures and ensure that data protection laws are being adhered to in relation to the storage of data. Run the data deletion process where such requests are received in compliance with GDPR legislation. 
• Support the HFO and FM in overseeing operational matters such as SMF office administration, maintaining the asset register, insurance renewals, and Health & Safety compliance; act as point of contact for suppliers and service providers, including property managers, utility companies, couriers and cleaners; maintaining contracts and leases with office providers; purchasing office supplies & equipment and ensuring adequate stock levels are kept. 
• Support the wider organisation through appropriate administrative tasks, for example the programme delivery team to ensure a good experience for students, particularly during the residential programmes 
• Support the HR team with processes such as ordering laptops for new staff and communicating, updating and maintaining office policies contained in the Office handbook  
• Undertake research activities to support Operations Team projects, for example potential new suppliers, benchmarking exercises and contract renewals 

3. Strategic Responsibilities 

• Support with training staff on finance processes, fraud awareness, data protection, and other areas of operations.  
• Being a point of contact for all staff on finance and operations including office administration 
• Ensure appropriate adherence to our financial and operational policies and procedures supporting the organisation to enact the highest standards, balancing that whilst processes are appropriately followed, they are not followed to the point where they compromise the standards or outcomes desired. 

Need to know

• IT skills:  Experience of using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel functions. Experience of using or awareness of any accounting and/or CRM (Salesforce) software.
• Accounting knowledge: Some understanding of basic bookkeeping would be preferable, including the importance of accurate and timely information for the running of the charity and an ability to maintain confidentiality.

Scholar Services Manager, Scholar Affairs

Salary circa £40,000 plus benefits

Fixed Term, for a period of up to 12 months

We are seeking an experienced admission professional to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford for a period of up to 12 months to cover a period of long-term leave. The Scholar Services Manager is a key role within the small team at Rhodes House who seek to provide a supportive environment for Rhodes Scholars. This role is also an exciting opportunity for an individual to enhance their skills and knowledge of admissions as supporting the Rhodes Scholarship offers broad experience of working with all the University of Oxford departments and colleges which makes this a unique role.

The role

The Scholar Services Manager role works in close partnership with the Registrar and Director of Scholar Affairs and Deputy Registrar to manage the full range of administrative processes underpinning the Rhodes Scholarship - from the point of selection in home country, through their two-to-three-year tenure in Oxford, to the process of going down - and to foster a culture of support and community at Rhodes House. This position uniquely balances academic reporting and record keeping over the course of the academic year with consideration for Scholar welfare and personal engagement.

In keeping with the prestigious nature of the awards, the Scholar Services Manager will take pride in delivering and improving administrative processes which add value to the experience of a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, and in building affirming relationships with the Scholar community. Skills, experience and qualifications:

· Knowledge or experience within Oxford University, particularly of admissions (Essential).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced team manager with expertise in community, corporate or relationship fundraising. This role will enable you to demonstrate your impact by both growing the overall income within your sub-region by managing and developing your amazing team of 4 Regional fundraisers, and also through leading by example on securing new sources of income where the opportunity is greatest. This could range from new business acquisition through to delivering higher level bespoke stewardship and key account management for our high value supporters. From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you will lead is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. This is where you come in - we need somebody who can harness this passion, help us to maximise on the opportunities that our unique locations give us, and ultimately grow income so we can be there for everybody affected by dementia.
The role will work closely with the Senior Regional Fundraising Manager and other Regional Fundraising Managers in the region to plan, execute and deliver our core community income and expenditure budget, ensuring that no opportunity is left unturned.

We are looking for an Individual Giving Manager for a 10 month maternity cover role starting from September 2025 until July 2026, to take responsibility for the operational planning and delivery of public fundraising programmes in line with agreed strategic fundraising goals, to grow individual giving income and the number of individual supporters.

The Candidate
Strong experience of delivering fundraising work plans to achieve against set income targets across all areas of responsibility (i.e., public donations, member schemes, community fundraising).

Significant experience of effective line-management and of managing fundraising teams.

Experience of donor audiences, supporter journeys and fundraising programme insight to take an audience-led approach to delivering fundraising campaigns.

Experience of digital and direct marketing strategy to improve engagement and deliver income targets.

About the role

​As a Training Coordinator for SafeLives, you will provide effective and efficient co-ordination of resources and support for the Training team, commissioners and learners across all SafeLives’ training programmes.

Duties include:

• Respond to learner, commissioner and partner emails in a timely way and manage your inbox efficiently
• Serve as the first point of contact by answering and managing daily phone communications, including calls from the public
• Manage financial tasks such as invoicing, checking credit card payments, and verifying incoming invoices (weekly)
• Schedule associates for training delivery and book the travel, accommodation and Zoom / Teams meetings
• Process course applications, waiting lists and subsidies using Arlo (online bookings software)
• Send all necessary course information and updates to learners, colleagues and associates both digitally and physically
• Be available to support trainers and learners on the day of training and resolve any issues
• Provide tailored support for learners with additional needs
• Create Microsoft Forms feedback forms and evaluation reports
• Work flexibly with the team to resolve problems and cover workloads as appropriate
• Update Outlook calendars and spreadsheets (for delivery, accruals, impact measures, expenses)
• Save documents to SharePoint
• Work with finance to track payments
• Update the WordPress website
• Track learners’ accreditation progress (course applications, worksheet submissions, plagiarism checks, accreditation with OCN)
• Manage resources on Moodle & Turnitin
• Support learners with registrations, logins, grades, certificates, and extensions
• Engage in a constructive and effective way with all survivors of abuse, through calls to the office, Pioneer interaction, with colleagues and any other interaction we have in our day-to- day work
• Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

Contract: Fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Location: Hybrid working/Bristol office minimum of one day per week.

What you will do:

• Provide leadership, guidance, and effective line management to a team of suicide prevention advisers.

• Ensure a consistent and high-quality service is delivered through effective quality assurance processes.

• Managing staffing and resources effectively to ensure the efficient running of the helpline service.

• Risk assess and provide advice and guidance to the team, in relation to safeguarding matters, in line with policy and procedures.

• Provide ad hoc rota cover to support a range of clients via multi-channel communications adhering to HOPELINE247 remit at all times.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A proven track record of building and managing an effective team, supporting their development and managing their performance.

• Previous experience of building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings 

• Previous successful experience of working in suicide prevention or mental health

• Awareness of the issues around safeguarding and how these can affect young people and adults at risk.

• Degree level or professional qualification in Health, Nursing, Social Work, Community Work or related discipline

Salary:  £35,407 per annum (Scale point 29) progressing by increments to £38,051 per annum (Scale point 32). As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £173.00 per month based on working 4 nights per week.

Hours:  33 hours per week

Working arrangements:  This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 7:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week.  33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.
