We’re looking for a Head of Education and Support that can help us grow and deliver our vital mission. This is a rare chance to design and deliver an education and support programme from the bottom-up, and to build a compelling strategy that offers children, parents and professionals high-quality online safety, mental health and suicide prevention programmes.

You’ll be a proven leader, with the strategic nous to identify and deliver new education programmes from scratch, the deep sectoral knowledge to design and deliver a suite of new education resources, and the commercial insight to scale and build demand from scratch.

Scholar Services Manager, Scholar Affairs

Salary circa £40,000 plus benefits

We are seeking an experienced admission professional to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford for a period of up to 12 months to cover a period of long-term leave. The Scholar Services Manager is a key role within the small team at Rhodes House who seek to provide a supportive environment for Rhodes Scholars. This role is also an exciting opportunity for an individual to enhance their skills and knowledge of admissions as supporting the Rhodes Scholarship offers broad experience of working with all the University of Oxford departments and colleges which makes this a unique role.

The role

The Scholar Services Manager role works in close partnership with the Registrar and Director of Scholar Affairs and Deputy Registrar to manage the full range of administrative processes underpinning the Rhodes Scholarship - from the point of selection in home country, through their two-to-three-year tenure in Oxford, to the process of going down - and to foster a culture of support and community at Rhodes House. This position uniquely balances academic reporting and record keeping over the course of the academic year with consideration for Scholar welfare and personal engagement.

In keeping with the prestigious nature of the awards, the Scholar Services Manager will take pride in delivering and improving administrative processes which add value to the experience of a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, and in building affirming relationships with the Scholar community. This will include maintaining a good balance between professionalism and efficiency on the one hand and a warm and approachable ethos on the other. 

Skills, experience and qualifications:

· Knowledge or experience within Oxford University, particularly of admissions (Essential).

· Graduate level or equivalent professional experience, with sufficient gravitas to work with a cohort of c.250 outstanding young international Scholars

· Ability to build strong working relationships with immediate colleagues, and with university colleagues

· Proactive, focused and organised, with good attention to detail

· Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise work and meet deadlines

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent IT skills, including experience with Microsoft packages (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook) as well as databases

· Advanced Excel skills, including the facility to analyse data using graphs and pivot tables.

· Experience of handling sensitive personal data

· High level of integrity and confidentiality. Sensitivity and discretion in dealing with a wide range of people on many different issues

· Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of the Scholar Affairs team

We are recruiting for four additional Regional  Fundraising Managers to join the Regional Engagement Team here at the Alzheimer’s Society.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced team manager with expertise in community, corporate or relationship fundraising. This role will enable you to demonstrate your impact by both growing the overall income within your sub-region by managing and developing your amazing team of 4 Regional fundraisers, and also through leading by example on securing new sources of income where the opportunity is greatest. This could range from new business acquisition through to delivering higher level bespoke stewardship and key account management for our high value supporters. This is a real opportunity for you to make your mark on the sub region.

From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you will lead is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We are looking for an Individual Giving Manager for a 10 month maternity cover role starting from September 2025 until July 2026, to take responsibility for the operational planning and delivery of public fundraising programmes in line with agreed strategic fundraising goals, to grow individual giving income and the number of individual supporters.

The Role

The Candidate
Strong experience of delivering fundraising work plans to achieve against set income targets across all areas of responsibility (i.e., public donations, member schemes, community fundraising).

Significant experience of effective line-management and of managing fundraising teams.

Experience of donor audiences, supporter journeys and fundraising programme insight to take an audience-led approach to delivering fundraising campaigns.

Experience of digital and direct marketing strategy to improve engagement and deliver income targets.

We are looking to recruit a HOPELINE247 Manager to enable the delivery of an outstanding suicide prevention helpline, through the effective management of HOPELINE247 advisers, alongside promotion and development of the service. 

What you will do:

• Provide leadership, guidance, and effective line management to a team of suicide prevention advisers.

• Ensure a consistent and high-quality service is delivered through effective quality assurance processes.

• Managing staffing and resources effectively to ensure the efficient running of the helpline service.

• Risk assess and provide advice and guidance to the team, in relation to safeguarding matters, in line with policy and procedures.

• Provide ad hoc rota cover to support a range of clients via multi-channel communications adhering to HOPELINE247 remit at all times.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A proven track record of building and managing an effective team, supporting their development and managing their performance.

• Previous experience of building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings 

• Previous successful experience of working in suicide prevention or mental health

• Awareness of the issues around safeguarding and how these can affect young people and adults at risk.

• Degree level or professional qualification in Health, Nursing, Social Work, Community Work or related discipline

Salary:  £35,407 per annum (Scale point 29) progressing by increments to £38,051 per annum (Scale point 32). As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £173.00 per month based on working 4 nights per week.

Hours:  33 hours per week

Working arrangements:  This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 7:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week.  33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.

Role - The primary focus of the role is to provide good quality information and advice to VCSE organisations based in Redcar & Cleveland that will support their development needs, including (but not limited to) key areas such as governance, funding, marketing etc. The post holder will have a key role in the development, delivery and evaluation of the Enhance service training offer.

Background (Summary)

Enhance is the newly funded VCSE infrastructure support service in Redcar and Cleveland made possible through the collaboration of a number of funders to fill a gap in local provision. 

Lloyds Bank Foundation, Rank Foundation, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Tees Foundation and the Woodsmith Foundation have provided three years of funding and commissioned MVDA to develop and deliver a VCSE infrastructure service (Enhance) in Redcar and Cleveland.

Enhance will provide practical support to VCSE organisations based in the Redcar and Cleveland area who deliver services to local people and communities. 

The service model for Enhance is based on three key areas:

Improvement – Providing practical support through an information and advice service.  This will include for example advice on governance, funding, policy and practice

Growth - The development and delivery of a comprehensive training programme for all VCSEs in Redcar and Cleveland

Influence - Work to support the building and development of relationships; collaborative work across the VCSE sector and cross-sector partnerships

The service will be based in Redcar and Cleveland and will provide an outreach service in the more rural areas of the borough to ensure the services are accessible to all local VCSEs.

We are recruiting a Standards Policy Officer to join our small and friendly Standards and Regulation team.

About the role

The role of the Standards and Regulation function is to monitor newspaper, magazine and digital publishers’ compliance with the Editors’ Code of Practice and to take action to address concerns about editorial standards, including by undertaking investigations into serious standards failures as necessary. It’s a busy team that coordinates closely with others at IPSO and outside the organisation, engaging with members of the public, journalists, and experts on a wide variety of subjects. Some recent issues that the standards team has worked on are reporting of sexual offences, suicide, major incidents, and domestic abuse.

As the Standards Policy Officer, you will carry out a range of tasks, including analysing information drawn from complaints received by IPSO, supporting the annual statements process and engaging with a range of representative groups who have concerns about press reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Standards and other colleagues across IPSO.

This is a role for someone who is interested in news and journalism, has excellent communication and analytical skills, and enjoys working with others to achieve a shared purpose. Candidates who demonstrate relevant experience will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their skills through a written exercise prior to short-listing for interview. This means that we can measure candidates’ relevant skills directly and make a fairer decision on which applications to take forward.

About the Role

We are looking for a resourceful, energetic and outgoing individual who can deal effectively with challenging situations and behaviour, motivate young people to manage risk and support a team of professional staff.

Key aspects of the job will be: 

· To safeguard young people through sound management strategies, collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.

· To work closely with the local authorities to reduce young people’s offending behaviour and support them to complete their court orders.

· To provide regular supervision for staff and assess training needs to required performance and development standards. To source and/or deliver training and coaching where appropriate.

· To ensure housing management policies and practices are effectively operated. This will include maximisation of income, licence management and implementation of fair and equitable referral procedures.

· To ensure appropriate staff cover is maintained in the home through production of rotas and, where necessary, recruitment of locum covers. To ensure that staffing needs are met within designated budgets.

· To ensure a trauma informed environment within the home at all times.

Applicants should have

•Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, Youth justice, Children’s Residential Care or

Youth Work.

• At least three years’ experience of providing leaving care, housing support or residential care to

Children and young people

• At least one year’s experience of effectively managing a supported accommodation or residential

service for children and young people.

· A good understanding of contextual safeguarding, The Children’s Act 1989 and the Supported Accommodation Standards and Regulations 2023.

· Thorough knowledge of the issues pertaining to young people’s offending, including those relating to alcohol/drug dependency and mental health and complex needs.

· An understanding of restorative justice.

· Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges that non-white young people face within the criminal justice system

· Familiarity with the welfare benefits system and with the range of resources, statutory and non-statutory agencies and services relevant to supporting young people, particularly Youth Offending Services.

· Awareness of  Health and Safety and GDPR Regulations.

· A strong commitment to person centred and inclusive practice.

The Job
We're recruiting for a Management Accountant to support our client's financial operations and strategic planning. This is a varied and impactful role involving the preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT returns, and active involvement in budgeting and forecasting. You'll also attend meetings with department managers to provide financial insight and support decision-making.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation to be in the Farringdon, London office 1-2 days per week, and the remainder working remotely.

The Person
We're open to applications from both finalists and fully qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). The ideal candidate will have experience in both management accounting and VAT returns, and be confident working with stakeholders across the organisation.

You'll need to be strong in Excel, including the use of pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. While experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector is a bonus, it's not essential-we welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds who bring the right skills and mindset.
