QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Today, in addition to supporting people who have a visual impairment, we offer education, support and guidance for students on the autism spectrum, those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and students with physical and other disabilities.  We have a large, skilled and diverse staff team who can meet a diverse range of student needs.  As QAC has grown, we now have new educational and learning sites.  As well as the more well-known campus in Harborne, there is the QAC Pinewood campus (dedicated to employment progression) in nearby Woodgate valley and in addition, QAC Umberslade campus (dedicated to horticulture and outdoor learning), in nearby Selly Oak.  QAC offers a broad range of study programmes that are tailored to ensure each student receives the educational, therapeutic and support services that they require, helping them achieve their aspirations for adult life. 

Our supported living programmes (Independent Plus) and Community Services offers support after leaving college and to those from within the local community. The marketing and communications team is responsible for marketing QAC services with the main focus being on student recruitment. Following a recent re-brand, the post holder will also be integral in ensuring an efficient and effective roll out of the new branding.

QAC also has an enterprise arm consisting of Sight Village (a touring exhibition supporting those with sight loss), All Formats (a transcription service) and Carbon Fibre Canes.  These are all supported by the Marketing and Communications Team.

Training and Projects Officer

Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Accountable to: Project Manager (Line Manager)

Start date: As soon as possible

Hours of work: Full-time (0.8-1FTE negotiable), Monday-Friday, permanent.

Salary range: £26,000 - £28,000 FTE starting salary, depending on experience.

Purpose

This is an interesting and important position at the Trust, with the postholder taking responsibility for a range of administrative and project management tasks supporting our Education programme, working to both the Education Project Manager and the Trust’s Head of Programmes.

Our Education Programme is our body of charitable activity delivering training and resources appropriate for schools, colleges and universities, often working with education institutions to create a whole school/college approach to promote good mental health in students and staff alike.

The postholder will be the first point of contact for our training team, enabling our mental health training delivery to take place. There will be opportunities to play a key role in monitoring and evaluation, and obtain a good understanding of the sector. This is a key role in ensuring the Trust and its activities are serviced with robust, reliable and up-to-date evidence and information.

You’ll need to be confident in dealing with the charity’s delivery partners and beneficiaries, both over the telephone and face to face. You’ll enjoy working with and supporting our trainer and office teams, and be super organised and proactive. You’ll manage a varied workload, prioritising tasks as necessary, and will be comfortable communicating with a wide range of people at all levels. We have a small office team, and the successful applicant will need to be a flexible team player.

Key responsibilities and duties

• Work closely with and provide administrative support to the Education Programme.
• Support trainers with the day-to-day running of online and face-to-face courses and maintain effective communication links with the freelance trainers. The postholder is the primary office contact for the training team.
• Liaise with freelance trainers to provide logistical and technical support in the day-to-day delivery of training, Charlie Waller Trust (CWT) conferences and open access webinars.
• Project manage Webinars and E-Learning projects.
• Respond to general enquiries by phone and email on behalf of the Charitable Activities team and deal with these as appropriate.
• Participate in the planning, development, creation, and implementation of training programmes to ensure the smooth running of all courses.
• Collect data directly from colleges, universities, and schools programmes.
• Ensure proper filing of measurement and evaluation documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports and datasets.
• Assist senior leaders and the wider team in the production and maintenance of project plans and help implement project objectives from start to finish.
• Collaborate with the existing team to implement new and improved methods to capture and report on our impact.
• Maintain monitoring and evaluation data on the Trust database to ensure accurate data analysis.
• Assist with Quarterly reporting to the CEO and Trustee Board, leading on gathering statistical data from across Charitable Activities.
• Manage and support our Lived Experience Partners (including our Youth Ambassador team) alongside any other freelance trainers.
• Routine call handling as part of the wider office administrative team.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

You will be responsible for identifying requirements, analysing processes, and recommending solutions to improve efficiency, productivity and effectiveness of the Oracle solution within the organisation.

You will also ensure end-end processes are appropriately documented, maintained and effective, identifying areas for improvement and utilising critical thinking abilities to dissect complex problems and propose appropriate solutions.

The role will also involve facilitating stakeholder engagement, conducting workshops and interviews, and collaborating with our Oracle Implementation partner to assess and validate proposed solutions.

Role Purpose

The main purpose of the programmes team is to grow, develop and deliver all aspects of the day-to-day relationship management of:

· Schools and colleges running the Career Ready programme

· Local employer supporters, corporate partners supporters, other key local stakeholders and networks

Each Regional Manager is responsible for a local patch which currently typically consists of 5-6 schools or colleges, up to 100 students and 4-5 operational relationships with our corporate partners. Regional Managers will also be responsible for building and maintaining a local network of employer supporters and seeking opportunities for new employer support ..

There will be opportunities to be creative, as well as being autonomous in how you run and develop the programme with the Career Ready schools and colleges in your area.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities

Centre Management and Student Support

· You will work 1:1 with our community of school/college coordinators in your region to support them in delivering the programme. This will require regular meetings and communication, to support coordinators with the planning and managing of masterclasses, workplace visits and other Career Ready events for students and volunteers

· Regularly communicate and report to the Head of Programmes  

· Execute our strategy across the region

· Support schools and colleges in programme onboarding (students and mentors) and delivery of paid internships

· From time to time there may be a need to deliver sessions to skills and careers leads and to groups of young people within the school and college setting

· Recruit new schools and colleges to the network from the region in accordance with priority target areas. Manage their induction, training, activities prior to launch and implementation of the Career Ready programme

· Assist schools and colleges on our programmes to plan, manage and run events (i.e. icebreakers, launches, or student promotion sessions) and be prepared to present at such events.

Partnership Management, Stakeholder Engagement & Business Development

· Day-to-day operational account management for employer supporters, ensuring they have excellent experiences.

· Full partnership and operational account management for lower-level funders in your region.

· Promote the contribution of Career Ready and awareness of Career Ready to potential supporters and assist in engaging their commitment to give both practical and financial support

· Engaging new corporate, third and public sector organisations to directly support the programme delivery, working with the Head of Programmes to ensure your Regional Action Board supports you (develop a great relationship with them, set and agree targets and meet with Chair regularly).

· Develop and deliver the overall employer engagement strategy for the area ensuring that the number of mentors (one for each student participating) is matched with the paid internship commitment and that employer volunteers are in place for masterclass delivery and workplace visits.

This Includes:

o Promoting Career Ready to potential supporters, engaging their commitment.

o Management of relationships with employer supporters through regular 'keeping in touch'.

o Directly pursuing a prioritised list of prospect funders in your region in line with our organisational strategy. This work will be supported by Partnership Managers and Head of Programmes  

o Using our SME Internship Investment Fund, seek small and medium sized businesses to provide a mentor and host an intern, seeking as much match funding as possible (e.g., we pay for 1 internship and you pay for 1; 50% of internship funded_

o Support engagement, experience and deliver on the programme commitments to corporate partners in your area.

o Support the Head of Programmes and Partnership Manager with programme reporting requirements specific to corporate partners, trusts and foundations

General

· Promote a commitment to high standards of service, and to equality of opportunity through leadership and good practice.

· With the Chief Executive, Director of Programmes and Operations, and Heads of Programmes , monitor the state of Career Ready in the region and seek ways to promote its achievements and improve the service given by the central staff team.

· Attend meetings and training days with the national team (approximately 2 times a year – these have tended to take place in London).

· Ensure that all regional management information is submitted to the national Salesforce database in a timely and accurate way.

· In collaboration with the Career Ready team, raise our and key stakeholders’ profile in the area, celebrating success via socials and the local media, business and education communities.

· Undertake public speaking as required to promote the work of Career Ready in the area.

About us: Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Promote Kooth to young people in schools and colleges

• Maintain an up to date, comprehensive database of all secondary schools and FE/ Sixth Form colleges in contract area(s)

• All new contacts including local service providers and voluntary organisations to be uploaded into Salesforce
• Prioritise engagement of at least the top 25% of all secondary schools and colleges that are the largest (no. of students) in contract areas

• Take a strategic approach to diary management and planning outreach to maximise reach and engagement across whole contract area(s)

Inform and promote Kooth (and Qwell where applicable) to referrers

• Engage education, healthcare & local community professionals to encourage them to refer young people to Kooth (and for Qwell to use for themselves or refer adults)

• Regular recording (weekly) of all new contacts and activity/ engagement of CYP and professionals on Salesforce

• Organise, present or support national & regional KoothTalks Training webinars to professionals and national webinars to CYP when requested

About Bookmark

Bookmark began life just over five years ago with a clear mission; they want every child to read. Currently more than one in four children are leaving primary school unable to read well. These children are more likely to drop out of school, experience unemployment, poverty, and poor mental health. About the role

As the Senior Philanthropy Lead at Bookmark, you will work with the Head of Fundraising to manage and grow our philanthropy portfolio within the wider strategy. You will lead a team of three to deliver on the fundraising strategy, line managing both the Philanthropy Manager and Senior Fundraising Executive. Your role will involve proactively researching and identifying new potential Bookmark major donors and working with trustees, staff, and the Partnerships Board to build a robust pipeline of supporters and secure introductions.

You will own and build a portfolio of new major donors through the full donor cycle who give £25,000 or more, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey. You will create compelling, relevant, and tailored funding proposals, reports, and collateral to inspire and inform donors, reflecting Bookmark's strong brand. You will lead on the Philanthropy events strategy and program, providing support to the Philanthropy Manager and wider team in delivering income-generating, cultivation, and stewardship events.

In addition, you will work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team to ensure opportunities to maximize income for the fundraising team. You will devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with the charity's strategic objectives. You will use Salesforce to manage the accurate recording and forecasting of major donor income, enabling efficient reporting and KPI management.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have a successful track record in high-value fundraising and acquisition, including a proven track record of securing five or six-figure gifts to meet or exceed targets. You must have experience line managing individuals, nurturing their development, and managing their performance to achieve results. Ideally, you will have experience developing and managing a calendar of successful charity events that meet fundraising targets and managing or working with a fundraising board or high-value committee. You should have the skills to influence, motivate and persuade people to donate and experience writing successful, inspiring, emotive, and technically accurate cases for support and proposals tailored to a major donor audience.

You should be experienced in growing and managing a pipeline, planning for your portfolio, and increasing income.

About this role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic fundraising professional, with a proven track record of income generation and a strong ability to develop impactful relationships with the skills to bring aligned individuals and organisations into our long-term EduSpots community. The post holder will be creative, passionate and self-motivated, with strong marketing and communications skills, able to design and implement strategic fundraising approaches. 

In this role, you will take on responsibility for identifying, creating and delivering impactful fundraising strategies that enable us to generate further relationships and income in support of our programmes. 

You will oversee the development of our individual giving and monthly giving strategies and further develop relationships with schools, corporate organisations and NGOs, with a focus on resource acquisition (e.g. books, electronic devices) alongside fundraising. You will also play a supportive role in events and campaigns, and work closely with our Head of Communications to ensure our marketing and communications strategy is integrated with our fundraising aims. Currently, we already have a trusts and foundations manager, but would welcome applicants with experience of trust fundraising.

YMCA DownsLink Group’s WiSE (What is Sexual Exploitation) Project is an innovative, award winning project working across East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and Surrey, with children and young people experiencing or at risk of sexual exploitation; as well as raising awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation and other forms of Child Criminal Exploitation.

We are looking for someone with the confidence to develop a new support offer for Surrey. This new post offers the opportunity to work in the WiSE team in Surrey in an exciting new role which has two strands to it; providing targeted early intervention peer group sessions to young people (up to 25 years,) who have been identified by their educational placement as being vulnerable too sexual or criminal exploitation. The role also entails working alongside Education and other agencies to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls by creating and facilitating training to teachers of the PSHE curriculum in both Primary and Secondary schools in Surrey. The successful applicant will be supported in the role through Reflective Supervision Practice, along with regular one-to-ones. 

This role will be based out of a Police Station in Surrey, which can be discussed at interview. There will be frequent travel and it is essential you hold a current driving license and have access to your own car.

The successful candidate will ideally have a qualification in Youth Work / Social Work or equivalent qualification; or equivalent comparable experience working directly with vulnerable young people. We are looking for someone with the confidence to work independently across Surrey and feel confident delivering educational work around topics such as healthy relationships, consent, sexual health, grooming etc to groups of young people in an education setting. You will need to feel confident in delivering training and consultancy support to other professionals around exploitation, as well as working with a multi-agency approach and skilled at developing relationships with other agencies. Being able to work autonomously, manage your time and workload while also working closely with the wider WiSE team is essential.

Salary: £32,846 or £39,327 dependant on experience

Qualification: Level 5 qualification in related vocational area and

Are you an experienced Digital Media Tutor, able to lead on the vocational curriculum area and develop the design for this curriculum area, support and develop other staff within the college and beyond to improve the vocational curriculum offer.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of planning and teaching well-structured sessions which incorporate student aspirations in line with their EHCP across vocational curriculum area.

What you will be doing,

• Develop a vocational curriculum which enables student to develop core functional skills.
• Work with leaders to support EAs and provide an efficient, effect and safe learning environment.
• Promote outstanding progress and outcomes by pupils both academically and socially as well as work in a multi-disciplinary capacity with the school’s Therapy Team to ensure that good autism practice is embedded within lessons and progress towards EHCP outcomes are being met?
• Adapt teaching styles to meet the varying needs of students with Autism, SEMH and other occurring diagnosis.
