We are currently recruiting for a Research Manager to oversee the development of RoSPA’s research, ensuring that our policy work is driven by a robust evidence base.  As Research Manager you will be responsible developing, delivering, and leading RoSPA’s research programme. We are seeking a Property Manager & Estate Administrator to work with an educational charity and one of the UK’s foremost providers and funders of Outdoor Learning.

About the role:

As Property Manager & Estate Administrator you will help the Trust uphold the highest standards of property management. Reporting directly to the Head of Estate Management, you will oversee the management of half of the Trust's direct let residential property portfolio of around 160 homes. This important role ensures operational efficiency within the portfolio, fostering positive tenant relationships, while contributing directly to the Trust's charitable work.

Your responsibilities will span both operational delivery and administrative support, ensuring estates run smoothly, remain compliant, and continue to deliver high-quality living standards for tenants.

Working closely with both the Property and Finance teams, you will:

• Conduct annual residential property inspections and rent reviews
• Ensure properties meet all regulatory requirements, including EICRs, gas safety checks, and EPCs
• Manage tenant communications, debt levels, and minimise void periods
• Coordinate planned and emergency repairs and maintenance within budget
• Prepare and negotiate tenancy agreements and manage deposit processes
• Maintain accurate property and compliance records using our property management system
• Draft essential documents and liaise with solicitors where needed
• Gather and record property data such as meter readings and council tax details
• Process invoices, purchase orders, and support accurate financial reporting
• Use mapping tools such as Pear GIS to create property plans

About the role

We are currently recruiting a Programme Manager to join our growing South & West campus teams, distributed across the Birmingham and Bristol areas. The Associate Programme Manager is responsible for the proactive and effective planning, execution, and administration of the Initial Teacher Education programme across our Birmingham and Bristol campuses, as well as supporting the management and delivery of our ECF and NPQ programmes in Birmingham and Bristol.

This is a hybrid working role with both work from home and on campus. This role would be linked to the NIoT’s Birmingham campus (Oasis Woodview, B15 2HU) and applicants should therefore live within a commutable distance of the Birmingham campus. As some of the team are based in our Bristol campus (The Greenway Centre, Southmead, BS10 5PY) candidates should also be able to work from the Bristol campus at least once every 2-3 weeks, to build relationships and work as a team. Our Programme Manager will also work remotely with programme managers in our other three regions across the country to ensure that our provision is of consistently high quality. The NIoT deliver our programmes directly on our two campuses as well as through our Associate Colleges in other parts of the South and West region. The Programme Manager will primarily support our Campus delivery but is expected to support Associate Colleges when required.

The successful candidate will be a great communicator and problem-solver who enjoys the regular contact and dialogue with staff from our founding MAT (Oasis Community Learning), our trainees, programme members, NIoT tutors, facilitators and Associate Colleges. They will enjoy managing projects from inception to completion and be motivated by providing high-quality programmes for busy trainees, teachers and leaders in schools.

Main duties & responsibilities

Ensure high-quality programme management principles are embedded in all aspects of South and West delivery that are delegated to them by the South and West Senior Leadership Team and the NIoT Programme Faculties.

The successful candidate will:

• Lead our ITE onboarding processes to ensure that all our trainee teachers have a very positive first impression of working with us, and transition successfully onto programme from recruitment.
• Ensure that records are maintained in line with contract/compliance and quality requirements.

• Acquire venues, resources and co-ordinate the efforts of facilitators, coaches, placement schools etc to deliver a high-quality programme experience.

Background

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is a well-established charity dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers from anywhere in the world who find themselves in the Royal Borough of Kingston and neighbouring boroughs. Since its foundation in 1991, RAK has been the main provider of direct services to refugees and asylum seekers as well as promoting refugee rights.

RAK aims to support refugees through the process from their initial reception in the borough through to final integration into the local community in order to enable them to live a fulfilling life and become accepted and active participants in our local communities.  We achieve this by accomplishing a variety of outcomes for refugee and asylum-seeking families through delivering a holistic service including advice, information, counselling, education, training, and assistance in access mainstream services and employment opportunities to help them rebuild their lives.

We are looking for a registered solicitor or someone qualified up to level 3, although we will also be happy to hear from people who are qualified up to IAA Level 2 Asylum. We are currently not in a position to support people to qualify for IAA Level 2, so please do not apply if you do not already have it. 

Purpose of the Post

Refugee Action Kingston provides free and independent information and advice on a one-to-one basis to refugees and asylum seekers on immigration (Level 3), welfare benefits, education, training, employment, housing, access to health and social care. Where we cannot help we refer clients to solicitors and other specialist help.

The purpose of this job is to provide an effective and efficient face-to-face Immigration Advice to IAA leve l2 or 3, within the aims, policies and principles of Refugee Action Kingston.  And to provide consultancy and advice to colleagues on Immigration and Asylum issues.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

Casework

• Provide face to face Immigration and Asylum advice and casework to IAA Level 2 or 3
• Act for the client where necessary by liaising with the Home Office, external agencies and other Immigration Advice providers in progression of a case.
• Negotiate and advocate on behalf of clients with third parties as appropriate, both verbally and in writing.
• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate
• Know and understand the limits of Level 3 IAA Advice and be prepared to refer or signpost onwards when work reaches these boundaries.
• Ensure that all casework conforms to RAK Advice Service office standards and policies.
• Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, and report preparation
• Write and maintain notes on individual client cases, manually and electronically. To ensure files and appropriate records are kept in accordance with good practice and standards.

The purpose of this role is to build on our programme of strategic engagement with our key audiences, in order to build our presence, influence and networks in a wide range of UK sectors and topical issues. This includes leading the design and delivery of some of our focused programmes in which we award Fellowships and supporting the Fellows awarded into these programmes to help them increase their UK impact once they’ve done their overseas learning. This role is responsible for delivering all engagement activity across our Arts and culture, Community and citizenship, Environment and resources and Governance and public provision universal themes.  

Key responsibilities:

Programme Development and Delivery

• With oversight from the Engagement Director, and working with members of the Advisory Council to develop the focus and goals of a three-year Fellowship programme within our Governance and Public Provision universal theme through a process of desk-based research and consultation workshops
• Working with the Head of Comms to design and plan the launch of the new programme to applicants
• Working with the Head of Fellowship to design a support package for applicants into the programme
• With oversight from the Engagement Director, creating and facilitating a Working Group of Fellows, partners and Council members to support the cohort of Fellows awarded within this programme. And working with the other Research and Engagement Manager to develop and enhance our approach to stewarding these Working Groups including ones already in place for our other programmes.

• Supporting the Engagement Director in the recruitment and stewardship of Knowledge Partners for this programme and other programmes under your four thematic sectors

• Working with members of our Advisory Council to review our two environment related programmes with a view to revising them or developing them further.
• Reviewing the progress of each programme under your remit with the relevant Advisory Council members and the Working Group at the end of the applications cycle and before the programme reopens for applications

 

 Sector Relations & Networking

• Researching target audiences, stakeholders, partners and allies, in the four thematic sectors you oversee. Building relationships and maintaining our database of these.
• Developing and managing a systematic programme of engagement with these audiences, through communications and activities including talks, briefings, events, newsletters, publications and other opportunities.
• Systematic promotion of Fellows into these sectors.

Creation of Engagement Content

• Designing and delivering a programme of engagement events for Fellows including webinars and convenings to provide support, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for the community of Fellows
• Leading on the design and delivery of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Rural communities programme
• Leading on the discovery and development phase of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Arts and Communities and Children and Young People with experience of care programmes.
• Assisting with the creation of sector content to support the dissemination of Fellows’ learning into their sectors
• Writing engagement materials such as case studies for a wide range of sectors and issues.

• Working with partners to deliver training and upskilling support to Fellows to help them increase their UK impact
• Supporting Fellows to distil their learning into ‘reports’ which can be used to disseminate their learning and recommendations
• Ad hoc support to individual Fellows to help them connect with their sectors and each other, and promote their learning and recommendations
• Working with the Engagement team to rethink and pilot new approaches to post overseas learning support for Fellows including grants, events, training, community platforms and more

Across Salisbury’s schools, something sacred is unfolding. Through the ministry of chaplaincy, young people are not only encountering the Christian story—they’re engaging with it. The Third Space Youth Lead is a unique partnership between The Bridge Youth Project and St Paul’s Church, Salisbury, bringing together two missional contexts with one unified purpose: to help young people move from curiosity to commitment, and from early encounters with faith into meaningful, sustained discipleship.

The post holder will work within our team of specialist welfare benefits advisers, as a specialist welfare benefits adviser providing information, advice, and guidance to clients in our Macmillan-funded Welfare Benefits Project, providing a welfare rights advice service to people affected by cancer to maximise their income.

Scope of role

The post holder will undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlements to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help. Advice will be delivered through a range of channels, including face-to-face, telephone, email, and other means, provide Welfare Benefits advice and information to people living with cancer and their families.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Case work

• Provide a full welfare benefits casework service for people affected by cancer. This includes disability benefits and other sources of financial support, such as grants and help with health and travel costs.

Welfare Benefit Appeals

• Assist clients to prepare for benefits appeals, research, and the draft was written legal submissions, and provide representation at tribunals as required.

Outreach

• Alongside other team members provide advice sessions through outreach, including at hospitals - currently St Bartholomews, Homerton, Royal London, Newham, and Whipps Cross; and at Toynbee Hall through telephone, email, and any other channel

Targets

• Meet targets as set with the line manager, which will change regularly depending on the needs of the services.

Quality Standard

• Ensure consistent quality assured advice, to AQS standard, monitored by checking casework and observations
• Maintain thorough and detailed case records for continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, and report preparation
• Use all relevant case management systems, such as Advice Pro, as well as Microsoft Office applications, for statistical recording, record keeping, and document production. Ensure all work conforms to Toynbee Hall’s systems and procedures.
• Along with the rest of the team ensure stocks of leaflets, posters, and stationary, are ordered from suppliers and distributed to outreach locations

• Support Macmillan Toynbee Hall Welfare Rights Advice Service’s social policy work by providing case studies and feedback on issues of concern to people affected by cancer; including attending internal and appropriate external meetings, and identifying and acting upon social policy issues

Essential Criteria:

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Recent Welfare Benefits advice work experience, particularly in the areas of health and disability, with at least one year’s specialist welfare benefits casework experience.
• Ability to write detailed accurate case records and drafts, letters reports, and statements in plain English.
• Recent experiences of working in a performance-driven environment and evidence of meeting targets set.
• An ordered and disciplined approach to managing a challenging caseload, meeting targets; planning and prioritising work in the face of competing demands on your time.

Campaign planning

• Lead the delivery of an ambitious and creative media and campaign strategy to bring about an improved recognition of the value and impact of youth work.

• To assist in the review and updating of SU Governance documents.
• To support and advise elected Officers on their student-led campaign activity (also known as priority campaigns)

Advice and advocacy leadership

• To have responsibility for the independent SU Advice Service.
• To design and deliver improvements to the developing service which may include the
• building of triage support, referrals or innovative ways of work with other agencies
• To ensure that service standards for the operation of the independent SU Advice Service are monitored and upheld at all times.
• To ensure the SU Advice Service is delivered in an actively inclusive manner making its services accessible for all of our members.
• To ensure best practise is followed in the storage and use of sensitive information held by the SU Advice Service in line with GDPR and any other relevant data legislation.
• To ensure that the work of the SU Advice team links well with student representatives and the campaigning elements of UoGSU to make best use of service data trends.
• To act as an advocate for the service within the UOG community and beyond. This will include the production of reports to develop funding streams for the service.

Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to: Head of Fundraising and Partnerships

Location: Aerospace Bristol with flexible working

Job Type: Permanent, Part Time (24 hours a week, core hours tbc).

Salary: Circa £30,000 FTE, equivalent to approx. £19,200 for 24 hours per week

As a charity and independent aviation museum, we are very lucky to have the support of a fantastic group of dedicated Volunteers who contribute their time and skills to help us achieve our mission, and the role of the Volunteering Coordinator is to lead the work we do in this area.

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, induction, training and management of our dedicated team of over 150 volunteers. You will be helping us grow the number and range of volunteers, develop the work they do and play in important role in defining what the future of volunteering in our organisation looks like, and how it fits with our wider workforce.

This is a collaborative and purpose-driven role that welcomes creative thinkers from all backgrounds. We encourage applications from individuals with lived experience of underrepresented communities or non-traditional routes into the charity sector.

We’re particularly keen to hear from people with lived experience of volunteering, community engagement, or building inclusive teams. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, including those who may have taken non-traditional career paths.

What you will be Doing

Here’s what the role might involve – we’ll support you to grow into any areas where you may have less experience.

· Develop and implement effective volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers.

· Support volunteers through recruitment and onboarding processes, including informal interviews and safeguarding checks.

· Work with volunteers to match them with meaningful and appropriate roles that align with their interests and skills.

· Provide ongoing support, supervision, and coaching to volunteers.

· Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer community by addressing any concerns or conflicts that may arise.

· Develop and deliver training programs to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles.

· Organise regular workshops or seminars to enhance volunteer skills and engagement.

· Create volunteer schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for all visitor attraction activities.

· Coordinate volunteer activities during special events or projects.

· Develop and implement a recognition and appreciation program for volunteers.

· Recognise and celebrate the contributions of volunteers through awards, events, and appreciation activities.

· Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, hours worked, and contributions.

· Prepare regular reports on volunteer activities, achievements, and challenges.

· Collaborate with other departments within the charity to align volunteer efforts with organisational goals.

· Work with the marketing team to promote volunteer opportunities and share success stories with the public.

· Proactively seek to broaden the diversity of our volunteer community to better reflect the people and stories we aim to share through the museum.

· Gather feedback from volunteers and use it to shape and improve the volunteer experience.

What we’re Looking for

We welcome applicants with transferable skills from related sectors or community-led funding roles.

· Previous experience in volunteer management or a related role.

· Strong organisational and leadership skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.

· Knowledge of the charity sector and a passion for the organisation's mission.

· Flexibility to work weekends or evenings when necessary.

· Proficiency in relevant software and tools for volunteer management.
