You will be an integral part of a busy, professional and customer service focused Information and Communication Technology (ICT) team, with a strong culture of providing tools for staff to do their job well and to optimise business processes. You will develop, build and maintain internal applications for local and remote users, especially helping colleagues to make the most of the Access ThankQ CRM database and supporting the finance and HR teams. You will also work closely with fundraising and communications colleagues to develop and support the public CMS website.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in web technology and in the development of secure web-based database systems using PHP – together with MSSQL Server/MySQL/MariaDB databases. You will also have recent experience of managing and developing websites using WordPress. You will be able to demonstrate your skills with a variety of web and database technologies as well as show your ability to learn new technologies as required. You will need to be patient, calm and approachable, as well as a good team worker.

The Role:
Are you passionate about technology and helping others solve IT challenges? We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused ICT Support Officer to join the Trust. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for technical support, ensuring smooth operation of our IT systems and providing exceptional service to staff and stakeholders.
The candidate:
The successful candidate will have at least an HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an ICT-Related subject and at least two years’ experience in a customer-facing or staff support role, it would be advantageous if this was within an ICT support or helpdesk environment.
Main Objectives

Provide day-to-day support for staff and volunteers using SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365, including troubleshooting common issues and escalating more complex problems to our ICT contractor and line manager as required.

Support the administration and basic configuration of the Trust’s digital systems, ensuring user accounts and permissions/access rights are kept up-to-date and in line with current best practice for cyber security and wider digital infrastructure.

Assist in monitoring and maintaining the Trust’s ICT equipment, network, and server infrastructure, reporting faults and liaising with our ICT contractor for resolution.

Support our ICT contractor with the external helpdesk to ensure IT problems are logged, tracked, and resolved promptly, maintaining good communication with users throughout. Including assisting with staff onboarding process
The successful candidate will ideally have:

Our technology
We've got complex needs: recording, monitoring and reviewing information about our clients, with their informed consent. Our in-house web application acts as an electronic patient record, a case management system, a quality management system, and more - it's grown over the last 15 years!
We started out with a Perl application, and have improved it aggressively over the years. All our software is deployed using Docker containers using ECS; much of it using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Pulumi. Our data is stored in a serverless/autoscaling MySQL database.
Newer work is often written in TypeScript, using NestJS and SvelteKit. We’ll use a variety of testing tools in both languages: end-to-end, integration and unit testing are all covered.
We practice a genuinely blame-free culture with incidents/mistakes and always focus our conversations on improving processes, not individual recrimination.

About you!
An ideal candidate will have some familiarity with SQL: our team write queries often!
We’d love to see candidates with some strong knowledge of HTML and CSS beyond the basics. We don't need you to know any frameworks in particular - but we'd love to see great fundamentals for building on the web, so you should have some experience building applications using JavaScript in the browser.
Debugging and testing experience is a must, in any language - we think that's a highly transferrable skill.
Previous experience with Perl is not a strict requirement. We're happy to show you the ropes - you'll be up to speed in no time!
You should really care about security. You’ll be happy to openly discuss approaches which make the software as safe as possible for people who use our services.
You’ll relish – or at least, enjoy the challenge of - diving into legacy code and documenting, improving and testing the code our users rely on. When you choose to rebuild things, it’s because you genuinely understand the previous solution and its shortcomings.
You'll be a curious, generalist thinker, never limiting yourself to one narrow specialty. As a team, we'll jump from CSS to AWS infrastructure in a day’s work. Of course, we don’t know everything: it's a perfect environment for learning; “I don’t know, let me check” is always a good answer.

The Fundraising, Communications, Retail Team & Reception
The Team is responsible for fundraising for the charitable work of Mothers’ Union and for communicating our work internally and externally in various formats and media platforms, resourcing dioceses, building membership, and providing a first point of contact for all callers and visitors to Mothers’ Union.
The Role
The successful candidate will primarily work with the Fundraising, Communications, Retail Team and perform Reception duties.

Main Responsibilities
Reception Duties
- Ensure a high levels of customer service is always maintained.
- To ensure reception area is well-maintained, tidy and presentable at all times.

- Greeting conference delegates; ensuring they are signed in, have relevant security badges, and information regarding allocation of meeting rooms and their location.

As Senior Policy Manager, you’ll play a leading role in shaping Scotland’s end of life care agenda. You will develop evidence-based policies, build influential relationships with decision-makers, and lead strategic campaigns to drive meaningful change. Working alongside colleagues across the UK, you’ll help deliver Marie Curie’s vision of a Scotland where everyone’s right to palliative care becomes a reality.

- Lead development of high-impact policy projects to influence end of life care in Scotland.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Hull. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust team members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Hull, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include creativity, resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. We Are Survivors, are a survivor focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester providing access to quality assured support. The Admin Co-Ordinator plays a vital role in ensuring our Community Services run smoothly, allowing survivors and their loved ones to receive timely and vital support. You’ll help manage the process of accurately recording client data from the point of referral to closure, assist with audits, and support general facilities and operations management. You’ll also occasionally provide admin support to our prison-based programmes, facilitating consistent standards across all areas of our work. Through this work, you will directly advance our mission to break the silence and support healing for men affected by sexual harms. We Are Survivors are looking for an organized and proactive individual who takes pride in accuracy and delivery. You can juggle priorities, communicate clearly both written and orally, and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information. You’re confident using the Microsoft Office Package. Specifically, Outlook, Word and Excel. You should ideally be comfortable working with databases to manage client information and assist with regular audits. You bring empathy and professionalism, and you live our values of Transparency, Integrity, Understanding and Responsiveness, helping create safe, inclusive spaces for clients and colleagues. Experience with minute-taking, facilities management, and working in confidential or VCSE settings is a bonus, as is an understanding of issues relating to male sexual harms.
