Around 200,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the UK since Ukraine was invaded in early 2022. Settled's Ukraine Advice Service is at the forefront of providing expert immigration advice on Ukraine visa schemes and related matters. This post will bring much needed additional capacity to a small, very busy team. In this post you will use your expertise to respond promptly and compassionately to Ukrainian citizens pre- and post-arrival in the UK and their family members; providing free, high-quality, responsive information, advice and support services in relevant languages to secure their right to remain in the UK. You will also work effectively with volunteers, referral partners and Ukrainian communities throughout the UK.

About Planet Patrol
Our vision is a world where all beings can enjoy our waterways, free from pollution. We are a global community dedicated to placing people-powered environmental data at the heart of decision-making. Through our unique anywhere, anytime, anybody approach to citizen science, we gather critical evidence of water and litter pollution to drive solutions that protect both environmental and human health. Our data and citizen science methods have been featured in academic journals (Stanton, et al., 2022) and media investigations (Channel 4 and ITV), enhancing public and scientific knowledge of litter pollution.
About the role
The Fundraising Lead (Corporate & Grants) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income generation for Planet Patrol, including the planning and delivery of our fundraising strategy; with a focus on corporates and grants. You will secure new partnerships and sponsorships, and develop high-value, multi-year commitments that align with both Planet Patrol’s priorities and our funders objectives. Whilst this role is fixed term, we hope to secure enough funding to make the role permanent.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Relationship Building
- Meet and exceed the annual new funding target of £300k, whilst maintaining existing funding agreements.
- Secure sponsorship for at least three organisational priorities worth a minimum of £50k each.
- Write and submit innovative, engaging and impactful funding applications.
- Prospect new supporters and build long-term, high-value relationships.
- Quickly and efficiently respond to calls for proposals, maximising all opportunities..
- Work with colleagues across Planet Patrol to develop and deliver bespoke opportunities aligned with funder priorities.
- Host cultivation events and support other team members in engaging prospective sponsors.
- Ensure due diligence in line with Planet Patrol’s ethics and due diligence policies.
Strategic
- Lead on the development and delivery of Planet Patrol’s fundraising strategy, setting income targets and KPIs with the Director.
- Work closely with the Head of Programmes and Campaigns to develop exciting, innovative and impactful funding propositions.
- Contribute to the wider Organisational strategy and annual Business Plan.
- Keep abreast of sector developments and funding opportunities to ensure plans are timely and effective.
Account Management
- Maximise our existing portfolio of corporate supporters, ensuring timely delivery of benefits, publicity and events.
- Oversee reporting to funders, sponsors and partners, demonstrating impact and value.
- Manage budgets within the fundraising portfolio and contribute to organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
Marketing & Communications
- Create compelling and innovative partnership opportunities for corporate supporters.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver sponsorship benefits and ensure accurate representation of sponsors across Planet Patrol platforms.
- Coordinate sponsor advertising and communications, with support from colleagues.
- Positively represent Planet Patrol at events and conferences.
Role requirements:
- A minimum three years working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- A demonstrated ability in securing funding worth five-and-six figures.
- Experience working remotely and making impactful relationships online.
- Be able to communicate effectively with senior corporate leaders.
- Experience in providing excellent stakeholder engagement, ideally through an integrated CRM.
- A natural networker and innovator, you’ll always be spotting opportunities.
- Excellent general IT skills and knowledge of new platforms to enable efficiency (Trello, Slack, HubSpot, Xero).
- Passionate about the environment and the importance of data.

- A clean, full driving license is preferred.

About Women in Prison
Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.
Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to a caseload of women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system.
- Undertake risk and needs assessments and co-producing bespoke support plans with women across the nine pathways to reoffending.
- Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.
- Champion the core values of Women in Prison, including social justice and feminism in all internal and external communications, articulating their importance to the work we do.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Support the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial processing and reporting. Where allocated, this role focuses on income and expenditure transactions, financial controls, reconciliations, and customer and supplier support, while providing cross-functional support across the Finance department to ensure continuity and compliance.
Some, or all of, the tasks below will be allocated to this role, assisted by the Senior Finance Assistants and supervised by the Financial Controller.
Daily monitoring of income and payments inboxes and related correspondences, support the end-to-end process, record and amend income and payments information in financial and other databases, and provide support on related banking queries.
Work alongside income teams in invoicing, receipting payments, issuing statements, allocating income, approving refunds and onwards union fee disbursements. Support query resolution, and monitor unallocated cash and union fees.
Process and record supplier BACS and other payments efficiently and accurately, and in accordance with accounting procedures. Record payment transactions in the finance database, including cash allocation and currency conversions. Support internal teams and meetings in relation to delegate prepaid cards, including processing transactions, issuing new cards and stopping or cancelling cards as required. Support the prepaid card platform, ensuring all records are kept up-to-date and centrally located to assist colleagues.
Assist in processing expense claims in line with policy. Process transactions for employee cash claims and corporate credit card purchases, issue new cards and stop or cancel cards as required.
Support month and year-end close processes, reporting, reconciliations and audit.
Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and controls, and support the design and implementation of new systems, policies, and processes within the Finance team responsibilities
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a highly numerate and organised individual with a strong ethical approach. The ideal candidate will have:
Essential criteria:
- Experience: Processing invoices, payments, other transactions and financial information.
- IT proficiency: Advanced Excel and intermediate Word skills. Must have practical experience with complex finance databases (e.g., Sage, Oracle, SAP), reporting tools, and expense claim systems.
- Personal attributes: High levels attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency, and the organisational skills to meet tight deadlines. Willingness and ability to learn new responsibilities and adapt to evolving processes. Must be fluent in English.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt working hours during periods of high demand to ensure deadlines are met.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in a membership-based or international organisation.
- Familiarity with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database or similar.
- Knowledge of multi-currency transactions and international banking procedures.

The Finance and Officer Administrator role is an integral part of Buttle UK, working across teams – grants development, fundraising and marketing along with the finance and operations team to support the delivery of our work. We are looking for someone with good experience of working in a growing organisation who is able to build good working relationships with colleagues and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of basic financial principles and previous experience of working within finance and administrative roles will be helpful. As well as good communication skills both verbal and written, the candidate will be flexible in the way they work and take the initiative when needed. They will also demonstrate a willingness to learn and interest in the UK voluntary sector.
This role will be a key part of the finance and operations team and contribute to the team’s objectives.
