The Head of Finance will lead on budgeting, financial management and reporting and work closely with the Chief Executive to provide effective financial direction to the Treasurer and the Board of Trustees.

You will provide financial leadership overseeing all aspects of the organisation’s finances and in ensuring that it complies with relevant legislation and principles. You will be responsible for efficient policies, procedures, systems and practices to support the smooth running of the organisation and will be proactive in developing new systems and processes to meet the needs of the British Deaf Association (BDA) as it grows. As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the financial planning cycles, governance, and management reporting process as well as managing relationships with external stakeholders/advisers ensuring value for money, contractual compliance, evaluation and quality assurance processes.

With prior experience of working with charities’ accounts as well as experience of Sage accounting system used at the BDA, you will manage the Finance team and provide excellent business service and support to circa 28 staff across the UK.

As a bilingual organisation with a working language of British Sign Language (BSL) and English, we will provide BSL training for the successful candidate.

Knowsley Carers Centre is a growing charity, established in ~October 1997 to support the borough's 16000 unpaid/family carers.

A highly motivated and experienced person is required to raise awareness of the issues unpaid carers face with staff from the health and social care sectors.

Proven experience of the sector and an understanding of unpaid carers’ issues are essential along with the ability to work independently.

Job purpose

The purpose of the role is to raise awareness of the issues carers and young carers face and the services available to support them to health and social care staff across the borough and promote the identification and support of hidden carers in Knowsley.

The Health Link Worker will provide a conduit between Knowsley Carers Centre, health and social care teams and appropriate networks and forums that support carers’ interests.

The Health Link Worker will:

• Provide information for and about carers and young carers to GP practices and health and social care teams.
• Assist in maintaining carers’ information boards in GP practices and at other health and social care locations.
• Continue to promote good practice guidance and steer relevant personnel at GP practices and other health settings through the guidance framework.
• Provide presentations, training and talks to health and social care staff on carers needs and include all aspects of caring within the awareness raising.

This is an exciting senior role for an environmentally committed leader to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone who can take strategic oversight of our Green Space for Health programme and provide effective management of the project and its staff.

About the role

This is an exciting senior role for an environmentally committed leader to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone who can take strategic oversight of our Green Space for Health programme and provide effective management of the project and its staff.

Our Green Space for Health programme helps to realise the value of green space for physical and mental health, both at healthcare sites and in the wider community. Our flagship project, the NHS Forest, promotes tree planting and woodland creation at NHS sites, supporting and encouraging sites to plant and maintain trees through offering free trees and advice. We support NHS sites to develop their greenspace for the benefits of patients, health staff and communities, while improving biodiversity and combatting climate change. We do this by encouraging green space enhancements such as meadow areas, vegetable growing, orchards and therapeutic gardens, as well as supporting the delivery of nature-based interventions for health.

The Green Space for Health Director will oversee the development of the NHS Forest and other Green Space for Health projects, delivering the programme strategy. The Green Space for Health Director will deliver our programme strategy through fulfilling the following responsibilities:

• Provide line management for the Green Space for Health Team’s 5 staff members. This will include one-to-one meetings, appraisals and regular team meetings.

1. Conception and collaboration of member events, through to completion

Working closely with a committed and extensive team of volunteers and paid staff, and with the support of an established and engaged board of Trustees, you will be steering the work on our vision and leading the team to deliver it.

As the leader of a relatively small charity, you will be engaged with many operational aspects of the organisation.

· Decision maker. Brighton Permaculture Trust has always been a collaborative organisation. There will be times when quick or difficult decisions are needed.

· Setting budgets and monitoring finances. Draft budgets for our financial year July 2024 to June 2025 are in place.

· Writing/assisting with funding bids. 

· Formal reporting to the Trustees quarterly, plus monthly opportunities to meet with the Trustees for support, collaboration and feedback.

· Leading monthly meetings with the operational managers. Operational managers cover each key area: Scrumped in Sussex, Community Orchards, Brighton Permaculture Trust Sites, Courses & Events and Admin/Compliance.

· Supporting the wider team to agree on SMART targets for each project and deliver on our strategic goals.

· Attending Brighton Permaculture Trust Apple Days events (3 per year).

Motiv8 is a life changing youth charity, that was established in Portsmouth in 1998.  Today we have established venues based in the heart of our communities within Gosport, Havant and Portsmouth, where youn gpeople and families can gain support when needed.  We are committed to a long term community presence, building trusted relationships with out communities.  Our work is about reaching young people and families early to prevent problems from escalating.  It means recognising every individual is unique.  It means remaining focused locally and being a permanent presence in our communities, acting as the glue that binds services and people together.  It means building trusted relationships, offering person-centered approaches and helping young people to feel connected.  it means providing safe spaces and welcoming environments where support can be accessed.

Job summary

We are looking for a Chief Executive who can provide leadership, aligned with our valies and manage the organisation, working with the Trustee Board to provide vision and communicate a clear and inspiring strategic direction, implementing change as required.

The main purpose of this role is:

• To lead all staff and volunteers engaged by Motiv8 to successfully achieve objectives in line with Motiv8 valies in an inclusive way
• To develop the policy and strategy of Motiv8 in collaboration with the Board of Trustees
• To oversee and lead implementation of policies and strategy to deliver Motiv8 strategic aims now in the coming years
• To ensure that Motiv8 maintains and develops policies that reinforce inclusion and diversity in the workplace, that addrss all kinds of harrassment and protect minority and youth groups with whom Motiv8 works
• To represent Motiv8 on behalf of the Board of Trustees, to develop relations with our staff members, volunteers, partnership and stakeholder groups
• To further develop Motiv8 in line with the charity's objectives, to implement necessary change and ensure that Motiv8 exhibits ongoing relevance.
