About the role
Our advice service provides over 2,000 kinship carers a year with easy access to expert advice and support to empower them to:
- realise their rights
- access the support to which they are entitled
- take the next step forward in tackling their challenges
- and navigate their way through a sometimes complex and confusing system.
We’re developing our advice service and investing in our team to make sure that we can support more kinship carers effectively. You’ll be part of a supportive team who keep kinship carers at the heart of their service.
The role of Advice Worker is pivotal in supporting kinship carers to access the right information, services and entitlements.
In this role, you’ll provide generalist advice and information to kinship carers in line with kinship carers’ preferred methods. Often, this will be by telephone, including taking live calls on our advice line, and by email. You will also need to respond to enquiries using video conferencing, text and other channels as we develop the service.
The type of person we’re looking for:
You will either have significant experience of providing advice to individuals on their rights, or you will have significant experience of providing support to kinship carers.
We will provide the training you need to undertake the role, as well as opportunities for development and progression.
You will need to be resilient and able to remain calm in difficult situations. You will have an eye for detail to identify the key issues requiring advice and the relevant legislation, guidance or practice. You will be firm, sensitive and professional in your approach and will be clear and assertive as you support kinship carers to get their needs met quickly and effectively.
The team work remotely, but there is the option to work from our office in London.
Key responsibilities include:
Advice provision:
· Respond to enquiries through a range of incoming channels. This includes taking calls on our advice line, as well as responding to enquiries submitted through our website, via internal referral or other channels.
· Provide high quality advice and information to kinship carers on their rights, entitlements and responsibilities in relation to: welfare benefits, local authority allowances, support from children’s services, kinship care arrangements and options, housing, sources of educational, parenting and legal support and other issues that may be required.
· Address all safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
· Make referrals and signpost to other services as necessary.
· Where appropriate, provide additional advice or support to enable the client to take action or undertake follow-up action on behalf of the client to move the case on.
· Facilitate access to our advice service for people with diverse needs.
Service quality, consistency and data management:
· Respond to all enquiries in line with Kinship’s advice service framework, standards and performance targets.
· Ensure independence, impartiality and confidentiality when dealing with kinship carers.
Professional and service development:
· Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance.
· Support continuous development and improvement of the service.
Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience include:
· EITHER:
a) Minimum of 2 years recent experience of delivering advice work on social welfare issues (e.g. benefits, housing, education or social care) to members of the public.
OR:
b) Minimum of 2 years recent experience of providing support to kinship carers.
OR:
c) Experience equivalent to, or a combination of, a) or b) above.
· Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their
families.
· Detailed knowledge of the statutory systems that people with advice needs frequently encounter.
· Knowledge and evidence of good understanding of safeguarding issues and good practice.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, and particularly, a sensitive and professional telephone manner.
· Excellent written communication skills in English.
· Proven ability to research complex information and communicate this in an easily understandable way.
· Proven understanding and practice of keeping accurate and appropriate case records.
· Ability to work flexibly, collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
· Ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload without close supervision.
· Confident in using digital tools, and an ability to learn new tools.

About Us
The Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance (GMWSA) was established in 2016 by seven organisations who provide support services to women across all ten boroughs in Greater Manchester (GM) who may be vulnerable or have unmet support needs.
We came together as the GMWSA in order to ensure that our collective voice is heard by policy makers and commissioners of services. We represent the interests of our beneficiaries and service users, we share good practice and experience and ensure that no service operates in isolation. GMWSA is now formed of nine Member and Associate Member women’s centres having a presence in each of the 10 local authority areas across GM all of whom are collectively funded to deliver support services across GM to women either involved in the Criminal Justice System, or whose vulnerability and marginalisation leaves them at risk of offending, but all also have individual funding streams to ensure their provision reaches every woman in need of support.
Alliance members offer a full range of services to women who need support around issues such as domestic abuse, housing, mental health, substance misuse, education, employment, training, and confidence/self-esteem, all delivered with a trauma responsive approach.

Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to join GMWSA to transform the Alliance to meet future challenges around function and funding.
You will shape and implement the strategic direction of the Alliance, ensure the smooth running of the charity, provide leadership to staff, support the Board of Trustees to fulfil its strategic and governance duties and ensure the delivery of grants and contracts.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Direction
- Provide leadership and direction for the organisation and its staff in line with our vision.
- Clearly articulate and communicate GMWSAs vision, mission and values to staff, partners and others.
- Drive GMWSA’s strategy and business plan while establishing clear targets.
- Lead the development of innovative programs and services that align with GMWSA's mission.
- Ensure awareness of relevant current and changing legislation and good practice.
- Proactively build, maintain and leverage relationships with strategic partners, stakeholders and influencers to shape policy, secure support and ensure GMWSA’s voice is heard in key local and national forums.
Supporting the Board
- Responsibility for working with and advising the Board of Trustees with regard to strategic developments, delivery of grants and contracts, opportunities and challenges.
- Responsibility for working with the Board to develop the relationship with members.
- Support the Board of Trustees to ensure that the organisation is in all aspects legally and financially compliant and operating to best practice.
- Advise and work with the Chair and Board of Trustees in developing its structures.

Finances and Fundraising
- Accountable for fundraising from a range of sources to deliver GMWSA’s agreed strategic objectives in the medium term and working towards an increased sustainability in the long term.
- Responsibility for liaising with funders, writing applications and applying for grants from various government funds, trusts and foundations.
- Responsibility for securing corporate partnership.
- Ensure grants are spent appropriately within aims of the charity, the grants’ terms and in accordance with Charity Commissioner regulation.

Trauma Treatment International (TTI) is a registered charity in the UK. We focus on providing evidence-based psychological treatment and support to victims of collective violence around the world. As well as providing treatment for victims directly, we work with organisations and communities to manage, mitigate and prevent the impact of trauma.
This is an exciting time for the charity, as we move into our next phase of development. We are now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to lead us in the implementation of our Strategy 2025-2030 and our vision for change.

Funded by Sport England, as part of an ambitious programme of change for NCT Walk & Talk, this post will be responsible for increasing the number of walks taking place and the number of new and expectant parents engaging with this service. Flexibility
Our staff who live in or near London operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays. About the Role
The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife. Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.
No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.
Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

We are looking for a new Finance Manager to join a small, friendly, and ambitious team, to review the day-to-day processes and policies and identify opportunities to improve reporting and make operational efficiencies. Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to provide sound financial management for the Association and CET through:

Statutory financial reporting in line with Charity SORP/UK GAAP, including annual returns to Companies House and the Charity Commission

Management accounting, reporting and analysis to funders, management, staff, and Trustees/Directors

Preparation and maintenance of budgets, forecasts and plans, including cashflows and project budgets

Supervision and control of day-to-day accounting transactions, including oversight of the finance aspects of the Apprentice role

Oversight and implementation of robust financial systems, policies, and procedures

Responsible for financial queries, working with the Apprentice as first point of contact for external contacts
Main Duties

Supervise day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial record keeping, including coding, allocations, reconciliations, and tax accounting

Oversee invoice generation and debt recovery processes

Process payments and staff expenses for authorisation

Produce regular management accounts on an accruals basis, providing interpretation and advice to the Executive Team, Finance & Risk Committee, Trustees/Directors, and funders

Lead on budget preparation and forecasting, including project-specific budgets; monitor and reforecast as needed

Prepare statutory accounts in compliance with charity SORP and liaise with external auditors and the Treasurer

Manage contracts with financial services providers, including bookkeepers, auditors, banks, and investment managers

We are looking for a permanent and full-time member of staff to help develop and manage RSTMH’s profile within tropical medicine and global health. We need a passionate and creative communicator who can play a key role in meeting our communications objectives. This role is office-based in central London, with the option to work from home on Mondays.
RSTMH is a membership society formed in 1907, with around 1,800 members and Fellows in over 100 countries. We work to improve tropical medicine and global health by enabling and promoting research, sharing knowledge and convening networks through our members and Fellows and beyond. The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to develop and enhance RSTMH’s reputation as a credible and trusted voice in tropical medicine and global health.
This is a wide-ranging and exciting role. You will lead on implementing the organisation’s communications strategy, working with the leadership team to ensure it meets the aims of the wider RSTMH strategy. You’ll maintain and further develop the website and social media platforms, build links with media contacts, and source, commission and develop content. You’ll manage relationships with key suppliers, including website developers, strategic partners, digital media and creative agencies. You’ll also be responsible for delivering RSTMH’s newsletters to our members and Fellows, and global network of supporters.
We’re looking for someone ambitious and solutions-focused with a passion for communications to deliver creative and innovative content. You’ll have the ability to engage people in the technical areas of our work as well as the nature of the societal problems and context we’re seeking to improve, and establish analytical systems to monitor our progress.
The Role
- Implement RSTMH’s communications strategy, in line with the wider organisational goals
- Full ownership of the website, including content updating and monitoring for consistency and currency, managing any development work and integration with other systems
- Manage social media channels for RSTMH, and develop strategies to engage wider networks
- Accountable for our joint venture website, grow: including developing a strategy for updating and maintaining the listings and income generation through advertising and/or sponsored posts
- Commission, source, write, edit and proofread engaging and relevant content for the website and social media channels, providing editorial support as required and building a network of expert contributors
- Track engagement across media channels and email marketing, and produce monthly reports for leadership team showing activity
- Ensure RSTMH’s brand and editorial guidelines are maintained in all of the Society’s work, including all communications by the team

- Proven experience working in an editorial capacity, developing compelling copy for online audiences, with a varied portfolio of written work
- Experience of digital content creation, commissioning and management
- Proficiency in HTML newsletter creation, working to tight deadlines, collaborating with other departments, and using mail clients
- Experience of managing suppliers, partners and contributors
- Familiarity with design software for creating digital assets, such as Canva
- Knowledge of CRM databases
- Experience with digital advertising and promoted social media posts, analysing trends, reviewing efficacy, and adjusting campaigns in real time
