Ickleton Cricket Club is looking for an energetic and innovative Communications Officer as an addition to their ambitious committee. The role will oversee their communications strategy, enhance our recruitment and help put the club on the map locally. Ickleton CC is a thriving, friendly and inclusive club with dedicated youth, senior and women’s teams. We are additionally in the process of developing a girls’ team.  

This is a part time role, approximately 7 - 8 hours per month, reviewing after one year

What the role involves
•  Building on the club’s reputation as an inclusive club and shaping how it is perceived in the wider community and across the region within cricket
•  Increasing the club’s visibility and engaging the local community
•  Helping with recruitment of players and volunteers 
•  Building relationships with local businesses to gain sponsors

Skills & Experience
•  Content creation for press, website and social media
•  Managing social media platforms
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•  Basic graphic design skills (desirable, not essential)

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) brings exceptional, life-saving critical care to people when they need it most — day and night, 365 days a year. As we enter a significant new chapter, we are seeking new Trustees to help guide our Charity into the future.

This is a rare opportunity to use your skills, experience and judgement at Board level to make decisions that will save lives.

Why now?

We are approaching the completion of a major strategic transformation: the relocation to a brand-new airbase in Eastleigh, near Southampton Airport. This move will:

• Dramatically improve response times
• Strengthen operational efficiency and teamwork
• Create a new operational model for the next generation of critical care delivery

As a Trustee you will help ensure this transformation delivers lasting impact for patients, clinicians, donors and communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The role: Trustee (Volunteer)

As a Trustee, you will:

• Set the strategic direction of the Charity
• Provide strong governance, oversight and accountability
• Act as a critical friend to the Executive and Clinical leadership
• Safeguard long-term financial sustainability
• Uphold the Charity’s mission, values and public benefit

This is an “eyes on, hands off” role focused on strategy rather than day-to-day operations, but one where your insight and judgement will have real influence and impact. Being a Trustee is challenging, rewarding, and deeply meaningful.

Time commitment: approximately 12 part-days per year, including four Board meetings, committee meetings and one annual strategy day.Trustees are elected for an initial term of 3 years, and can be re-elected for a maximum of 3 terms (9years in total).

Who we’re looking for:

We welcome applications from people with a genuine connection to our mission and communities. To strengthen the balance of skills on our Board, we are particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in:

• Clinical operations or leadership
• Critical care services / HEMS delivery
• Aviation industry
• Fundraising and income generation

• Finance, investment or senior business leadership

You do not need previous trustee experience. We value sound judgement, curiosity, integrity and commitment as highly as technical expertise and welcome applications from underrepresented communities or any persons who would enhance our Board's diversity.  

Eligibility:

A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!
 

You can expect us to

• make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

• help set up and/or man stalls at events
• help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections
• help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances
• promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.
