Job description

Ickleton Cricket Club is looking for an energetic and innovative Communications Officer as an addition to their ambitious committee. The role will oversee their communications strategy, enhance our recruitment and help put the club on the map locally. Ickleton CC is a thriving, friendly and inclusive club with dedicated youth, senior and women’s teams. We are additionally in the process of developing a girls’ team.  

This is a part time role, approximately 7 - 8 hours per month, reviewing after one year

What the role involves
•    Building on the club’s reputation as an inclusive club and shaping how it is perceived in the wider community and across the region within cricket
•    Increasing the club’s visibility and engaging the local community
•    Helping with recruitment of players and volunteers 
•    Building relationships with local businesses to gain sponsors

Skills & Experience
•    Content creation for press, website and social media
•    Managing social media platforms
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Basic graphic design skills (desirable, not essential)

The Right Person
•    Motivated, proactive and able to work independently
•    An interest in cricket and community sport (desirable)
•    Creative, strategic and open to new ideas
