As Senior Programme Officer you will build and access networks that support education settings to connect with nature through the programme, and build skills for engaging and influencing nature on their estate. As a regional team you will work to establish widespread, meaningful and sustained engagement with the programme.
Reporting to the Nature Park Senior Programme and Partnerships Manager, you will map schools in the London region to identify priority areas, and connect with senior school leaders across the region to engage them with the programme. You will develop partnerships and networks at a regional level with local authorities, businesses, and organisations in the education and charity sectors to provide additional support for schools and help sustain them on their Nature Park journey. You will work with the central programme team and partnership to build support systems for schools and settings that address barriers to participation, which may involve training and tapping in to existing volunteer networks and running events.
We are looking for a collaborative, creative individual with a passion for plants and the environment; someone who is experienced at partnership development and with a proven track record in project management.
You will work within a multidisciplinary project group including partners and colleagues with specialist scientific and community engagement knowledge and skills. Job Purpose

About the role and team
Working within the wider Supporter Acquisition and Retention teams, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging onboarding journeys for Shelter supporters, ensuring engagement is high throughout. You’ll be responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Individual Giving programme, making data-informed decisions to deliver outstanding supporter experiences.
Leading the team, and matrix managing other pipelines of work, you will be supported by the Head of Supporter Acquisition to deliver multiple projects concurrently. About you

About the role
Reporting to the Director, Finance and Operations, the role of Senior Officer, Finance and Operations plays an important role in supporting the seamless functioning of both the HSI/UK and HSI/EU teams while also working closely with Finance, HR & IT colleagues in the US. Areas of focus include accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and monthly reporting, as well as providing wide-ranging operational support across a number of different areas including legal/contracts, HR and IT.
Key responsibilities
Financial Administration (30%)
- Accounts Payable: Create POs according to the A/P policy, ensure all invoices are correctly logged & submitted for payment, ensure timely payment of all invoices, review weekly report of unposted invoices and outstanding payments and take action as needed.
- Accounts Receivable: Ensure all donations are properly coded & documented.
- Expenses Reporting: Ensure timely submission of employee expenses and debit and credit card transactions.
- Review financial transactions monthly to ensure income and expenditure are recorded correctly in the general ledger.
- Provide monthly reporting to all budget holders in the UK and EU.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as needed.
Contracts Management (30%)
- Working with the UK and EU teams, oversee the creation, submission and signing of all supplier contracts.
- Work with the Office of General Counsel in the US to ensure each contract is compliant with organisational policies and procedures.
- Maintain a log showing stage of each document in the process.
Operational Support (40%)
- Be the first point of contact for operational queries to campaigns and fundraising teams in UK and EU
- Ensure timesheets are completed as part of the monthly payroll process.
- Manage the process of recruiting and onboarding new employees and offboarding leavers. Support provision of IT and equipment for UK and EU teams as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as needed.

· Lead, develop and deliver Supporter Acquistion and Supporter Retention & Development campaigns across a range of channels in line with strategy

The NSPCC’s mission is to end cruelty to children. Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is what drives their fundraising team to get out there and bring in the funds needed to protect children and prevent abuse.
Through Speak out Stay Safe, a primary school safeguarding programme, NSPCC reached 1.2m children in 2022/23 and helped many more through their other services, which include a helpline, community events and campaigning for policy and practice changes. The charity also developed new services to help families, campaigned to change laws, shared information about abuse and how to recognise it, and developed new tools for children, parents and professionals.
The Philanthropy Individuals team focus on high level, infividual donors and are responsible for securing 4- to 7-figure plus gifts. The team consists of 12 fundraisers, who collectively raise £3.5M a year. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Senior Philanthropy Manager – Northwest will potentially manage one membver of this team.
You will also be responsible for maximising the long term relationships of all new and existing individual donors capable of gifts ranging from £5k to £1M+, driving new business with the support of your line-/dotted-line support.
As Senior Philanthropy Manager – Northwest, you will:
- Identify, develop and cultivate major donors up to 7-figure level, supporting a team income target of c.£700k
- Grow your own portfolio of major donors with focus on £100k+ prospects
