ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a passionate and driven HR professional to play a pivotal role in delivering our ambitious HR strategy and supporting the growth of our Federation.

In this high-impact, operational role, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to drive forward key business and HR initiatives.

From resourcing and employee relations to learning and development, you’ll provide expert guidance and hands-on support that empowers our management teams to thrive. You’ll be at the heart of our people strategy, leading on complex casework, championing best practices and ensuring our academies are supported with regular on-site visits.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing professional and customer-focussed HR leadership, advice and support to academies to enable leaders to improve and support staff engagement, tackle workforce priorities, maximise workforce efficiency and achieve academy people objectives
• Influencing and supporting the strategic direction of academies by providing and analysing workforce information and developing HR initiatives to respond to needs or example, developing effective retention plans, improving sickness absence and reducing agency expenditure
• Coaching, supporting and mentoring senior leaders on people management practices, issues and priorities, through development of close working relationships and understanding of business challenges and opportunities
• Providing expert advice to managers in highly complex employee relations cases on the interpretation and implementation of the Federation employment procedures within the context of the legal framework
• Retaining oversight of casework, and line managing an HR advisor in the management of specific ER cases

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• Experience in a HR Business Partner or senior HR advisor role within a large complex organisation
• Experience of developing and delivery of strategic HR plans and initiatives
• Previous experience of managing complex Employee relations issues, change management, and restructuring
• Experience of supervising staff
• Educated to masters level in HR Management or equivalent level of experience of working in an HR role
• A CIPD qualification to Associate level or above

Salary: £57,000 per annum.

The External Affairs team is based across the UK, including in Wales and Scotland. Job Information

This is an opportunity to lead an award winning communications team – Third Sector Communications Team of the Year in 2024 – that’s tasked with changing how we think about hospice, end of life and palliative care in the UK.

As the charity representing the UK’s 200+ hospices, we have secured ourselves a significant national platform in the past year or two, with regular, top-tier national media, and online campaigns which have forced the government to act. 

With assisted dying legislation progressing across the UK, now is a critically important moment for the public – and for politicians – to better understand what hospice care is all about, and the challenges we face.

As part of our mission to promote and protect hospice care for all, it is critical that our communications team keeps it high on the agenda. We’ve built huge momentum – whether with regular national TV news coverage, a rapidly growing online supporter base, or though our recently overhauled brand. But we need a savvy, politically switched-on Head of Communications and Campaigns to keep that going, and to make it pay off.

Hospices are amongst our most loved community charities, and our job as the national charity for hospice care is to rally the public – as well as major donors like companies and trusts – to support these brilliant organisations.

You’ll need a strong eye for a story, and an integrated understanding of the full spectrum of communications, campaigns and marketing. You’ll likely be a specialist in one area – which is fine – but we want someone who can join the dots, spot the opportunities, and inspire a team of specialists.

Hospices are under huge pressure. Funding is tight, and demand is surging. This is your chance, in the coming years, to play a leading role in fighting for hospices to get the support they need – from government, from the media, and from the public.

Centre for Mental Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced communications professional to join our team as Associate Director of Communications (Maternity Cover), starting in September 2025 for 12 months. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead our communications work, ensuring all of our written and visual outputs support our mission to drive mental health equality.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Virtual Events Team and contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of virtual events through effective acquisition campaigns and outstanding supporter experiences.

• At least 6 years of experience in evidence generation and impact modelling within global health. Experience in the SRHR sector is strongly preferred, but not essential.
• Proven expertise in managing complex modelling projects and methodologies such as multi-sectoral impact evaluations in development contexts

Being a Head of Fundraising at St Wilfrid’s

As an interim Head of Fundraising, covering maternity leave, you will need strong leadership skills, a passion for fundraising with a track record for delivering financial results, and a desire to work for a meaningful cause. This role leads an incredible team of 12 dedicated fundraising professionals who, along with the support of our event volunteers, work tirelessly to support our Hospice. Their dedication to, and care for, our supporters generates over £4 million annually, which is vital for funding our care.

This role is pivotal in ensuring our fundraising department thrives, and will be responsible for:

• Developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive fundraising budget, including forecasting for the future, working closely with the Director of Income Generation
• Developing effective fundraising programmes in all revenue streams, identifying priority areas – to enhance the fundraising portfolio of income generation activities; consistently evaluating and adjusting plans and strategies
• Ensuring the close management of income and expenditure, making adjustments where necessary to ensure good financial management
• Leading, building and motivating the Fundraising team, providing leadership and management and overseeing development and training, to enable individuals to reach their full potential
• Collaborating closely with our marketing and retail heads as one of our department leads

What the job involves

Join our Customer Engagement and Experience team as our Data Imports Manager, where every day you’ll be helping to make sure our supporters’ donations and personal details are handled with care and accuracy.

You’ll manage the Data Import Team, who process around £30 million in donations each year and safely manage details for about 180,000 new supporters. It’s a role right at the heart of our operations, keeping our systems running smoothly and ensuring supporter data is looked after properly.

Day to day, you’ll manage the flow of financial and personal data into our CRM, whether it’s from third-party suppliers or our website. You’ll own the use of our automation tools to ensure data imports are efficient and accurate.

You’ll support your team, respond to data queries, and as the product owner of our bespoke ETL tool work closely with developers, designers and data teams to deliver high quality solutions. There’s plenty of scope to spot ways to improve how we work, reducing manual processes and making things quicker and smarter without compromising quality.

Alongside this, you’ll produce regular reports to keep things on track, such as weekly/monthly reconciliation reports for Finance, and oversee tasks such as creating our Gift Aid claim. You’ll also play a key part in developing and monitoring KPIs, making sure we’re hitting our goals and delivering a reliable, accurate service.

What we want from you

Time management is key in this role, as you’ll understand how data processes directly affect income and supporter experience.

With a practical, agile mindset, you’ll be a problem solver who can look at systems and processes with fresh eyes and quickly spot opportunities to make them more efficient and effective. Process-driven and detail-focused, you’ll take a proactive approach to improving the way we work, without losing sight of the bigger picture.

Excellent communication skills are essential, you’ll be confident having open, honest conversations to protect the integrity of our data, and able to influence decisions when it counts.

You’ll have experience managing and coaching a team, supporting people to achieve great results while developing their skills and confidence.
