Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it.
Since our founding in 2017, we’ve proudly campaigned successfully for the recognition of economic abuse in UK law and influenced wide-ranging systemic change to transform responses to it. We're now entering an ambitious new phase, and we’re seeking a dynamic, strategic and values-led Head of Income as part of the Senior Leadership Teamto help drive it forward.
This is a critical time for SEA. With a bold three-year strategy now in place, we’re looking for an experienced income-generation leader to oversee and diversify our income streams — across high-net-worth giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, and earned income through consultancy and training. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Income will play a vital role in shaping the future of the organisation and enabling us to scale our impact.
The Head of Income will lead a talented team, including our Senior Fundraising Manager (trusts and foundations) and Corporate Development Manager (strategic multi-stakeholder partnerships), and collaborate closely with our CEO, Trustees and earned income delivery teams (consultancy and training) whilst also being hands on in relationship development. Your approach will be collaborative, survivor-centred and driven by SEA’s values. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with strong experience in high-value fundraising and/or commercial income generation.

WaterAid is exclusively partnering with Robertson Bell in their search for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis, in this newly revamped role. WaterAid is the largest international not-for-profit organisation, focussed solely on making sustainable clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere.
This role will be a key strategic advisor and responsible for high-level planning conversations to WaterAid UKs largest income generating Directorate: Communications and Fundraising. As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for helping shape the strategic direction of fundraising team. This is a high-profile role, enabling Water Aid UK’s senior leadership to deliver and support the delivery of WaterAid’s ambitious programmatic activity.
The organisation:

To make lasting change happen on a massive scale they show decision makers how it can and should be done by influencing them to act. WaterAid link policy makers with communities and local partners and change attitudes and behaviours. They persuade governments, donors and financial institutions to invest in basic services and rally support from people and organisations around the world. They will keep working towards their mission until they are no longer needed.
The key duties of the Senior Finance Business Partner are as follows:
- Owning relationships with key senior stakeholders within the Communications and Fundraising Directorate.
- Regularly engaging on strategic long-term decision making and providing relevant financial data to key decision makers.
- Work with the directorate to build realistic and detailed financial plans.
- Own directorate specific timelines for delivering financial forecasts and budgets.
- Work with Head of Management Accounting to build a consolidated picture for WaterAid UKs performance for the Executive Director Team.
- Collaborate on the building and maintenance of automated reporting for directorate on PowerBI.
- Regularly engage with budget holders to ensure that spending and income is on track against plans.
- Ensure CRM data is complete and accurately reflected in the month end close position.
- Oversee the monthly recording of both unrestricted and restricted income streams.
The successful candidate will have:
- Completed a professional accounting qualification or be part-qualified with relevant professional experience.
- Experience of strategic partnering senior stakeholders (ideally at Executive Director level) along with senior leadership teams.
- Ability to analyse large quantities of data with a view to identifying trends and key drivers.
- Adaptability to build effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues and work in a collaborative way.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience of managing finances within a fundraising directorate (Desirable).
- Knowledge of international development issues and the sector (Desirable).

About the role:
As the Head of Philanthropy you will lead and inspire a team dedicated to generating and growing income from high-value donors, corporate organisations, and charitable trusts and foundations.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the Philanthropy Plan in line with the Organisational and Fundraising Strategy to maintain and grow sustainable income from major donors, corporate partnerships and trusts and foundations
- Through innovation drive the acquisition and development of high-value donors and funders to deliver sustainable growth.

Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience and understanding of major partnership fundraising including trusts & foundations, major donor and corporate fundraising techniques
- Experience and evidence of first-class relationship management techniques and donor care
- A demonstrable understanding of the written and contractual agreements involved in partnerships, ideally within a charity

The Opportunity
This is an exciting time to join our charity: Cambridge is changing rapidly, and we are working hard to tackle issues such as the loss of nature, climate change and access to green space. We have inspiring new projects to expand habitats and green spaces on the Gog Magog Hills, to create a new wetland at our Coton Reserve, to plant trees and woodlands and to save one of Cambridge’s oldest buildings. Job Purpose

Main Responsibilities

5. Monitor income targets and activities for Trading and Corporate fundraising including reporting to the BC Trading Company Board.
6. In conjunction with the Digital Manager, manage BC’s website shop portals and commercial partnerships to ensure a good level of royalties, proactive marketing, and supply of ethically sourced and sustainable goods.
7. Liaise with Communications and PR Team to ensure effective promotion of corporate and business agreements and timely reporting back on campaigns.
8. Update and maintain records of all business and corporate approaches, communications and agreements on the CRM and appropriate files.
9. Advise Branch volunteers where they seek to establish business support for their activities.
10. Where required, develop and/or follow policies and procedures on due diligence, data management, account management, stewardship, and reporting.

Read for Good’s Grants and Trusts Manager leads on securing high-value income for the national charity from trusts and foundations, typically securing one-off and multi-year grants in the five- to six-figure range. You will research and cultivate prospective funders, produce compelling, tailored proposals, programme reports and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities. Key responsibilities
Income Generation and Fundraising
- Research and develop a strong pipeline of new and existing high-value trusts and grant-making prospects (typically five- and six-figure applications).
- Write compelling, tailored funding proposals that align with funder interests and organisational priorities.
- Manage and track income performance, reporting on progress against individual and team targets.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with funders and secure repeat and multi-year funding in the region of £400K p.a.

We resource, connect and champion a network of over 5300 Warm Welcome Spaces and bring together a growing coalition of local, regional, and national partners representing the worlds of charity, faith, business, government, and philanthropy. To support the range and depth of partnerships we have and the potential we see, we are looking for a Partnerships Manager to work primarily on building partnerships with Local Authorities and public sector organisations, charities and social enterprises, faith-based and inclusion-focused organisations and other groups who might help us strategically grow and resource the Warm Welcome network across the UK (NB Corporate Partnerships are managed by our newly appointed Fundraising Lead for Corporates). The Partnerships Manager will also help develop our support for Warm Welcome Spaces, including overseeing our Champions Programme which offers more intense support and a Community of Practice to a smaller cohort of local groups.

Responsibilities
Building Partnerships
● Developing our Partnership Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to help us grow the network and reach our ambition of 100% of the population living within a 30-minute walk of a registered Warm Welcome Space. This will involve identifying and engaging partners in geographical ‘cold spots’ for the network (utilising our mapping tool developed with UCL), as well as forming partnerships to unlock new or under-represented types of Warm Welcome Spaces (e.g. Housing Association Community Spaces, cinemas, community spaces created by new housing developments etc).
● Leading the development of our Local Co-ordinators Cluster which brings together Local Authorities and others who are leading place-based networks of community spaces.
● Overseeing and developing the Champions Programme, providing more intensive support and connections to a smaller cohort of Warm Welcome Spaces.
Engagement and Inclusion
● Developing our Inclusion Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to diversify our Coalition and support local Spaces to become more accessible and inclusive.
● Working with the team to develop regular engagement activities for Warm Welcome Partners.
● Producing compelling communications (written and verbal) to promote the work of the Warm Welcome Campaign and grow the depth and breadth of partnerships - to include but not limited to partnership proposals, pitches and reports.
Good Practices, Standards and Systems
● Supporting, maintaining and developing existing partnerships and manage the systems (including CRM use) needed for excellent partnerships delivery, stewardship and development.
● Leading Warm Welcome Space good practice and driving up quality standards across the network, including through developing a Warm Welcome Awards programme.

About us
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of humanitarian crisis overseas. This role will require you to lead on organic social media as part of the DEC Communications team, working closely with the Digital and Innovation team in Fundraising, collaborate with social leads across our 15 member charities and public figures through our talent agency. During appeal launch periods it will also involve managing a small social media team of volunteers.
All roles at the DEC are based in our London office. We operate a hybrid working model, with some non-negotiable office attendance.
