We're looking for a visionary leader to co-lead our work in England and at Westminster. Working alongside another Head of England & Westminster (mat leave cover), you'll oversee a team that:
- Works in partnership with others to ensure children and families have the day to day support they need – whether that's access to their local baby bank, a grant from Save the Children to help them get by, or support from organisations that can help them
- Campaign for an end to child poverty alongside children, young people and their families – regionally, nationally, and on reserved issues that affect children across the UK
You'll build a high-performing England & Westminster team, oversee our national influencing and hold senior stakeholder relationships, proactively secure funding for our work in England, and ensure our work in communities is impactful and connected to our influencing. The roles are also part of the Leadership Team responsible for our impact for children and families in the UK, and our Corporate Senior Leadership Team.
The role will work on influencing, communities and partnerships work so they can represent the entirety of what Save the Children does in England and at Westminster, with responsibilities clearly split with the other post. However, we are looking for the successful post-holder to have more of a community development and grant giving background as the current post holder has more of a policy / influencing one.

The Head of England & Westminster is based in our UK Impact (UKI) department. The department is responsible for driving the delivery of the UK Impact goal in our strategy. It's our mission to help build communities of people who care about children, listen to what's important to them and work together to make things better.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of trust, inclusion and growth.
- Drive delivery of our England and Westminster change strategy to reduce child poverty.
- Lead place-based approaches that strengthen local systems for children and families.
- Ensure national advocacy and local programmes work hand in hand, with children's voices at the centre.
- Build and influence senior-level relationships with government, funders, charities, media and opinion formers.
- Use political and policy insight to shape strategies in England and across the UK.
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of work.
- Act as a credible spokesperson, representing Save the Children UK externally, including in the media.
- Lead fundraising and innovative ventures that combine income generation with social impact.
- Play a key role in the collective leadership of the UK Impact department.
We are looking for someone with the following experience, competencies, and skills:
- Proven ability to set clear direction, effectively prioritise a large and complex workload, plan and implement change strategies, manage varied expectations and deadlines, and adapt plans when context change based on data, evidence and professional judgement.
- Significant experience of leading and line managing a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team including supervising, motivating and developing direct reports
- Ability to think and plan strategically, with evidence of securing significant practice and policy changes through the successful design and execution of integrated change strategies covering research, advocacy, policy and practice
- Ability to share and apply learning in order to continuously improve effectiveness, working within a collective impact framework
- Experience of holding a wide range of senior external contacts – including civil servants, senior ministers, parliamentarians, national decision-makers, media, funders - and evidence of influencing for impact
- Significant knowledge and understanding of the political, policy and practice sectors, frameworks and trends in England.
- Significant knowledge of equalities, diversity and inclusion, and how to apply this in order to maximise our external impact and strengthen our internal culture
- Understanding of the causes of child poverty and broad knowledge of the evidence about effective approaches to reducing and ending it
- Experience of building and sustaining relationships, partnerships and networks at a senior level, with individuals and organisations that result in securing new opportunities for the organisation and deliver results
- Experience of securing funding

Location & Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team, or service). Details:
Salary: £40,373 per annum.
Location: Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Tuesday. A day where all of Income Generation come into the office. Otherwise we are proud to promote a truly hybrid work culture. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. There will also be an expectation for the successful candidate to be available for in-person sales meetings in London and across the UK, when needed.
Contractually this role is London based.

The postholder will lead the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, driving strategies across corporate partnerships, trusts & foundations, major donors, and other high-value supporters. They will manage and develop the Rapid Response Network, retaining existing partnerships whilst also identifying and securing new partnerships. They will be expected to identify opportunities to maximise income throughout the life cycle of the appeal. In between appeals, the expectation is to retain supporters through excellent stewardship and to develop existing and new relationships leading to uplifts in support.
They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in managing high-value relationships across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts & foundations, and statutory bodies. They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable track record of securing and growing long-term partnerships, including successfully negotiating six or seven-figure sums with corporate partners and/or major donors. To be successful, you will need:
- Significant experience as a PA or high-level administrator in a complex organisational setting, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.

- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting high-quality briefing papers, presentations, and correspondence on behalf of senior leaders.
Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:
- Experience in the charity or international development sector.

The Director of Income Development & Partnerships will be driving force for income diversification for the organisation, and will expand private sector partnerships, donations, grants and other fundraising streams to achieve income generation growth. Setting income generation and strategic partnership strategies to drive growth and achieve the foundation’s objectives, this role will be a strategic leader on the Leadership Team and oversee a fundraising team to deliver success. This role will also lead key income generation and strategic partnership relationships to increase income, as well as build impactful partnerships for the foundation.
The successful candidate will be able to evidence extensive high value fundraising experience in complex organisations, with notable examples of successfully securing multi-year five and six-figure relationships from corporates, HNWIs, events, trusts and foundations. This person will have proven experience of leading successful teams to achieve income and engagement growth of a multimillion-pound level. They will also be an experienced senior leader and ideally have knowledge of the social mobility, youth, or employability sectors. They will champion an inclusive culture and align with the foundation’s mission and values.

About the role:
The roles primary function is to lead the operational teams and lead on strategic development and growth across the region. The post holder will model the organisations values; people focus, can do, excellence and mutual respect.
The Deputy Director leads the strategic development and transformation of Family Action services across the Central region, and implements the organisation’s strategic plan and its 5 key objectives. The role focuses on stakeholder engagement, partnership, service development, and system leadership across sectors. It requires inclusive leadership and the effective line management of Operational Managers and one Assistant Director.
The role has responsibility for service delivery, risk management, performance, quality and practice, safeguarding, income generation and budgets across the region. The post holder drives accountable leadership, innovation, co-creation, and continuous improvement across all the Central region. The Deputy Director will be an excellent communicator, highly resilient, and a decision maker, while always championing Family Action’s values in delivering inclusive, outcome-focused support for children, families, young people and adults.
Main Responsibilities:
· Be accountable for service delivery across the region, contractual performance, safeguarding, quality assurance, risk management, ensuring services meet regulatory standards, delivering positive outcomes and embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do.
· Lead senior stakeholder engagement and foster strong cross-sector partnerships across the geographic area.
· Line manage Operational Managers, and an Assistant Director, oversee budgets to ensure efficient, cost-effective service delivery. Champion the sharing of learning, development of staff and volunteers and best practice across services to support continuous improvement and innovation.
· Strategic and accountable leadership, leading the region by motivating and galvanizing the team to achieve innovation, growth and quality services maximising outcomes for the people we support
· Working alongside the Business Development & Corporate and Marketing team, drive the region’s income generation through generating and responding to new opportunities, and by leading innovative service design and modelling.
· Be part of a dynamic and supportive team of other regional and national Deputy Directors, sharing and influencing cross-organisational decision making, resource allocation, strategy and organizational development and leadership.

· Passionate about social justice and improving the life chances and supporting children, young people and adults who experience disadvantage.
· We are looking for someone who has senior level leadership and management experience and expertise in at least one of the settings in social care, health, young people and community sector. The postholder will develop and lead fundraising and partnerships, raising crucial funds to support MumsAid’s growth. We are looking for an experienced, versatile fundraiser who can hit the ground running, bring a holistic approach and work with a range of donors and funders to help MumsAid develop a sustainable income pipeline.
This role has strategic accountability for fundraising and managing funder relationships. You will lead our competitive tendering and grant application work, and develop our corporate partnerships.
This is a part-time post, flexible on location, although some travel within the UK may be required. The role will provide support at fundraising events, requiring some occasional evening and weekend commitments (for which time in lieu will be granted).
Main Duties
Leadership and Management:
· Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board (particularly the Fundraising and Marketing Subgroup) to proactively identify potential sources of funding and realise opportunities for growth.
· Devise and develop appropriate strategies, produce and deliver strong proposals and pitches.
· Provide knowledge of current fundraising practice and develop a consistent working strategy that is sustainable.
· Assist in informing long-term financial/business planning and clarifying priorities.
· Support the SLT and Board in developing a comprehensive framework for reporting on the charity’s impact, including to funders.
Oversee and support monitoring submissions.
Fundraising:
· Develop, implement and evaluate a fundraising strategy in line with MumsAid’s priorities, to include key areas of focus – fundraising from trusts and foundations, statutory fundraising, corporate fundraising, to secure c. £500k over the next 2 years.
· Research, formulate and write applications, bids and tenders, including to statutory funders and trusts and foundations, coordinating with other team members for input as necessary.
· Build strong relationships with existing and potential funders, partners and stakeholders.
· Write reports for funders to meet deadlines and submit further applications for existing funders where appropriate.
· Work with the SLT and Board to develop and maintain strong relationships with commissioners, funders, partners and corporate organisations to ensure good communication about organisational/project progress, address any issues that arise, and identify new income streams.
Organisational and General Duties:
· Maximise fundraising efficiency by using and developing our CRM to ensure there is a clear process for recording and managing fundraising activity.
· Contribute to the financial planning, budgeting and management accounts process.
· Contribute to the development of MumsAid’s understanding and communication of our Return on Investment (ROI).
· Report regularly on KPIs, monitoring and evaluating against social impact and ROI.
· Develop and manage a reporting schedule for the Board and funders to ensure monitoring and reporting is in done in an effective manner in line with organisational priorities, tracking restricted and unrestricted income, project development and targets.
· Maintain awareness of fundraising and charity law and ensure that activity adheres to relevant legislation and guidance.
Communications and Marketing:
Liaise with colleagues to help shape and implement our marketing and communications plan, ensuring our reputation is upheld and our knowledge is shared through positive, consistent and accurate communications and messaging.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was founded in 2009 after Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were attacked because of their alternative appearance. Sophie later died from her injuries. The Foundation was created by Sophie’s mother Sylvia to address prejudice against alternative subcultures and to promote understanding and tolerance through education, advocacy and policy work.
Although a small organisation, we have big impact and reach. We advocate for the alternative community through policy and campaigning work and provide support following hate crime. And we also run workshops aimed at reducing discrimination and challenging stereotypes. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Fundraiser to help secure the charity’s financial stability and support its growth.
The role involves creating a fundraising function from the bottom up and then developing and implementing a fundraising strategy. Diverse income streams to be targeted include corporate partnerships, individual donors, grants and foundations, events and digital campaigns. You’ll work closely with the team, CEO and Trustees to ensure fundraising activities align with our clear objectives.
Responsible for creating and delivering a fundraising plan that meets income targets, you’ll identify funding opportunities that align with our mission.
