About Coram Adoption
Coram’s Voluntary Adoption Agency is well established and Ofsted Outstanding in providing loving homes to children where adoption is the plan. In the regionalising of adoption services nationally it forms a regional partnership with nine London Boroughs, Harrow, Hillingdon, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Bromley, Westminster City Council and Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (Biborough), the City of London and the outer Slough Childrenfirst. The service provides all key aspects of the adoption services for the councils on a co-located model that enables a very close working partnership near to where families reside and local services.
About the role
The Senior Data and Performance Analyst role plays a vital part in supporting the work of the regional agency undertaking a range of responsibilities (local and national), undertaking data collection, cleansing and analysis contributing to robust reporting and new service developments to enhance the data function.

Barnardo's is looking for an experienced analyst with strong Power BI skills and a passion for the charity sector to join our Analytics team in Digital, Data and Technology. The Analytics team is a central function providing insight, information and data to the whole charity in all functional areas. This includes interactive reports, ad-hoc pieces of analysis and consultation on other teams' analytical work. We use Power BI, traditional statistical techniques, economic theory and advanced data science models to influence decisions both internally and in the wider sector.
Working as a Senior Data Analyst here would give you the opportunity to help us achieve Barnardo's mission by exercising responsible stewardship over our analytical output and enabling our colleagues to make well-informed decisions. You will:
- Develop our existing Power BI suite to better serve the needs of our stakeholders.
- Review and feed back on the work of other analysts, setting the standard for what good looks like.
- Establish and disseminate best practice in the team and beyond.
- Conduct and advise on pieces of analysis in all domains.
- Present and communicate results to stakeholders, taking their feedback on board.
Who we're looking for:
- 3 years' Power BI experience. Especially developing models, writing measures and calculated columns, and working with deployment pipelines.
- 3 years' experience in analytical roles.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL).
- Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities either from experience or higher education.
- Great communication, written and verbal, with stakeholders at all levels of seniority and technical expertise.
- Experience providing feedback on analytical work to both aid development and establish best practice.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Someone passionate about Barnardo's mission.
- Desirable: someone who has worked with Microsoft Fabric.

About the Role
Coram is contracted by the Department of Education to provide a data service to deliver the quarterly data collection on adoption and special guardianship orders, and develop and establish an annual adoption support data collection. The ASG Data team consists of three members and sits alongside the Impact and Evaluation Team within the Coram Institute for Children.
The Senior Data and Performance Analyst will play a key role in supporting the work of the ASG Data team. The post holder will support with the ASG data collection, the development of the Adoption Support data collection, undertake data analysis and reporting, and visualisations to provide high quality data intelligence for the DfE and adoption sector.
This post would suit someone who has experience of data collection, recording, reporting and visualising complex data and information, preferably within the adoption, charity or public sector context, is an advanced user of Excel and Python, and is confident in presenting data to a range of audiences.
