Job description

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund provides vital funding and resources to support the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit in providing life-saving medical equipment, parent accommodation for families and essential ward resources. We are recruiting a Finance and Admin Officer to join the organisation at an exciting time in the charity’s development. In this role you will undertake a variety of responsibilities across finance, administration, HR and volunteer management making it a diverse and interesting role.

As Finance and Admin Officer you will be accountable for a variety of administrative and HR tasks including processing grant applications for families, analysing fundraising reports, taking and handling call volumes and recording absence and holidays. Additionally, you will take on some key finance accountabilities involving the processing of gift aid, month end reconciliation and the managing of invoices and processing of payments using CHSF’s various systems including accounting software Xero. You will also be responsible for overseeing volunteer registrations accurately recording all volunteer information, issuing volunteer registration forms and obtaining volunteer references.

To be considered for this integral role within the organisation you should come to us with significant administration, finance and customer services experience. You should be an effective communicator with a good eye for detail and be comfortable and confident working to deadlines and engaging both internally and externally in a professional manner. You should be competent using the full MS Office package (possessing an extensive knowledge of MS Excel), and have a sound knowledge of computer accounting packages. Perhaps most importantly you should be determined, reliable and organised with a methodical and flexible approach to work and be committed to the values and cause of this wonderful organisation.
