We're looking for someone to lead and develop our research team of staff and freelance research associates and be part of our Senior Leadership Team. We work with charities, foundations and public agencies to strengthen UK communities through action research. We champion the role and contribution of the voluntary sector, listen and learn with charities to understand what helps or hinders them and influence changes in practice within foundations and public agencies.

You'll have an interest in our work – helping individuals and organisations in the voluntary sector to achieve change; and a strong understanding and experience of using qualitative research methodology, ideally including experience of action research, facilitation and evaluation design alongside an understanding of quantitative methods. You’ll have experience of  leading, managing and contributing to all stages of the research process (including writing in an accessible and engaging manner for different audiences); be confident in leading a portfolio of varied projects; have experience of line management and working in a senior leadership team; and be comfortable working in a small organisation with wide-ranging responsibilities.

Main responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and shaping the research project portfolio to ensure quality delivery and alignment with IVAR’s strategic priorities.
• Leading, supervising and guiding the research team, including supporting Project Managers to deliver high quality research; monthly research team meetings; and continuous professional development of research staff.
• Being a member of project delivery teams.
• Monitoring project budgets and progress against income targets.
• Ensuring IVAR meets its responsibilities in terms of research ethics and safeguarding and that our research practice is equitable and inclusive.
• Maintaining and developing a network that supports a healthy project pipeline of new work, including relationships with delivery partners who can complement and enhance IVAR’s offer.

We have an opportunity to lead our Health & Wellbeing Team as part of a job share working in collaboration with another senior manager.

You will manage, develop and market Hospital Discharge and Health & Wellbeing Services in Bromley and Greenwich and work in partnership with other providers. You will be responsible for all Hospital Discharge services and work closely with the Hospital as well as  be an active member of the Senior Management team. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To have oversight of the monthly and quarterly reports for the services

· The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following services:

o Take Home and Settle/ Hospital Aftercare Service

o Sitting Service

o Handy Person Service

o Frailty Care Navigator

o Long Term Health Conditions

· The work will include some on call responsibilities on evenings and weekends for the Hospital Discharge Services which an extra payment will be made.

· To work in partnership with other providers and health partners across both boroughs.

· To work within the Bromley Well partnership and maintain contact with BTSE

· To build a strong relationship with the hospitals and NHS staff

· To be responsible for health and wellbeing staff including undertaking supervision, guidance and support, allocation and monitoring of work plans, annual appraisals, identification of training needs and participation in the recruitment of staff.

· To work with the Chief Executive to devise and implement a marketing / publicity strategy to promote primary and secondary interventions and other services for older people.

· To work in partnership with older people, volunteers, statutory, voluntary and other agencies to initiate and deliver a programme of healthy living and recreational activities which meet the needs and aspirations of older people in Bromley and Greenwich identifying and developing new  initiatives and partners.

· To be responsible for ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken of premises, outreach venues, client’s homes and other measures for the provision of a safe environment ensuring that all legislative requirements are met.

· To ensure that evaluation and monitoring of service/project outcomes is implemented, enabling Age UK Bromley & Greenwich to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of the service delivery.

· To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, work colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations

· To work alongside the Chief Executive to undertake long-term strategic planning of primary and secondary care interventions and other health and wellbeing services.

· To work with older people and with other groups, organisations and agencies in the boroughs to identify potential areas for health, education and social activities that older people want to participate in, and identify funding sources to develop and deliver the new areas of work.

· To be creative and innovative in designing new opportunities and projects for people to get involved across the boroughs in the co-delivery of services.

· To work with diverse and/or hard to reach individuals / groups who are not involved in their community, in particular targeting people who are socially isolated.

· To keep your knowledge up to date with the health priorities and health commissioning strategies in both boroughs to ensure our services are ‘fit for purpose’ and can contribute to the current overarching outcomes agreed between the local Authorities and the ICB.

This role is based in the UK in our London office. If the role is based in the London office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days. This is pro-rated for part-time employees.

The salary quoted is for the London office dependent on hours worked per week and based on a full time salary of £36,007:

-14 hours per week: £14,403 per annum

About the role

This role is a job-share working with an existing Executive Assistant who is spending part of her time supporting the Director of Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns (PPC) and the PPC department. This role entails working with a wide range of groups internal and external to Christian Aid. The role will support the Director, taking on key pieces of work, including minutes taking and report of meetings, assisting with email, liaising with colleagues and other assistants, coordinating hosted events and stakeholder lists, planning logistics, booking travel and accommodation, editing and proofreading documents, conducting research, scheduling appointments and other administrative tasks, as appropriate.

About you

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, research and organisational skills with a bias for action, the ability to think laterally and deliver results. You will have a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the organisation. You are someone that keeps calm under pressure and is able to manage assignments with sound judgement and with multitasking capabilities. You will have an eye for detail, good IT skills, strong interpersonal skills and the motivation and interest in the Charity Sector or International Development. We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families.  Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

Who we are:

The Dalit Solidarity Network UK is a small human rights organisation working to eliminate caste-based discrimination in the UK and South Asia. Registering as an official charity in 2003, Dalit Solidarity Network UK continues to grow as an effective campaigning and advocacy organisation, working on the issue of caste discrimination in the UK and being an active player in the global movement.  Our major areas of work include documenting 'everyday casteism', building capacity of businesses to address caste-discrimination in overseas supply chains and UK operations and working with UK Higher Education Institutions to protect against caste-discrimination.

Summary of the role:

We are seeking a new Director who will be responsible for working with the Board to:

i) Develop and deliver of DSN-UK's overall strategy and objectives;

ii) Provide strategic leadership to influence the policy and practice of key stakeholders to further DSN’s vision of a ‘world without caste discrimination’;

iii) Lead overall management of DSN-UK, including management of DSN-UK staff, its finances and other resources.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Leadership and strategy

Responsible for implementing DSN-UK’s strategy through specific campaign, lobbying and advocacy activities, including development of key messages and influencing strategies. 

Maintaining partnerships and network support within the UK, with partners in South Asia and international partners.

Conducting joint advocacy at UK/EU/UN level, representing these issues at UK Government level and participating in  other joint initiatives as appropriate.

Operational Management

Responsible for the day-to-day management of DSN-UK, including key  aspects of its internal administration, particularly providing oversight of financial management, annual budgets and the preparation of regular financial and programme reports for the Board.

Fundraising:

Leading the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy for DSN-UK, preparing funding proposals and reporting to donors on project achievements.

Human Resources:

Managing one part time office administrator and appointing other staff, volunteers and consultants in consultation with the Chair.

What we are looking for in a Director:

1. A track record of successfully working at a senior level with strategic leadership and management responsibilities.

2. Ability to develop organisational strategies and translate them into plans and budgets.

3. Experience of working on issues of social justice/human rights/equality, diversity and inclusion and of campaigning for change.

4. Experience of representing an organisation to others, ranging from grass roots activists to government officials including high-level lobbying and advocacy and public speaking.

Safe Passage International (SPI) is recruiting a Head of UK Legal Team to lead our ground-breaking legal work in the UK. The UK Legal team works to ensure that safe routes exist for all people seeking asylum. The team specialises in providing free legal advice and representation to unaccompanied children and families seeking asylum in the UK.

The Head of UK Legal Team will be a UK-based qualified solicitor or barrister or OISC Level 3 accredited caseworker or IAAS Supervising Senior caseworker with experience of working within the UK in a legal capacity, specifically in the area of asylum, immigration and refugee family reunion.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead a high performing team of immigration lawyers, casework supervisors, and caseworkers. You will drive the development and delivery of our legal strategy in the UK; supervise all UK legal casework; lead our litigation strategy; develop good practices of line management and regulatory compliance within the team; and lead legal policy work by collaborating closely with colleagues within the UK, France and Greece to create a cohesive, powerful, cross-border legal response and framework.

You will also work closely with the Heads of SPI Greece and France, our International Safeguarding and Protection Manager, Experts by Experience Consultants, and Safe Passage Young Leaders to shape our legal function.

Finance and operations manager – Job Description 

We are seeking a thoughtful, compassionate, and experienced finance and operations manager.  This is a new role in an expanding team that will contribute to the senior leadership of the organisation and be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the charity, with a focus on financial management.  
Our new Finance and Operations Manager will work closely with the CEO to set and manage the organisation’s strategic plan, drive strategic initiatives, manage resources, and foster a positive and reflective workplace culture. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Leadership and Team Management  

• Embody the values of The Magpie Project and support the CEO to maintain the core vision and principles of the organisation in all its activities. 

• Support the CEO in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the charity, including deputising for her when appropriate. 

• Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders (donors, community partners, other non-profit organisations), and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership to enhance the organisation’s impact and reach. 

• Represent The Magpie Project externally where appropriate. 

• Foster a positive and reflective workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement. 

• Implement best practices and internal systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. 

• Line-manage three staff members – Kitchen Manager, Donations Manager, and Fundraising Manager – in accordance with existing support and supervision structure. 

1. Financial Management 

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including all incoming and outgoing payments and invoices, and maintain accurate records in line with financial best practise. 

• Develop and manage the annual budget and produce management accounts to provide regular reports to the CEO and board of trustees throughout the year. 

• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for donors. 

• Coordinate annual financial audits and ensure timely submission of annual accounts to the Charity Commission. 

• Maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure internal controls are compliant with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements. 

• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, identifying and mitigating potential risks. 

• Liaise with off-site payroll provider and make monthly payroll payments. 

• Oversee management of petty cash, including ensuring there is sufficient petty cash to cover travel money and emergency grants expenses at sessions.

• Develop and oversee processes for the distribution of emergency hardship grants, in line with donor expectations and best practice in record keeping. 

1. Operational Management 

• Support the CEO in the strategic direction and operational management of the charity, including planning, service design, programme management, HR, and workforce development. 

• Develop and maintain relevant internal policies. 

• Lead on risk management within the organisation, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.

• Maintain relationships with external suppliers including DBS service providers, insurers, telephone and internet, banking, and software technicians. 

Person Specification 

• Experience in a senior finance role in a charity, including budgeting, forecasting, and day-to-day financial management. 

• Specific knowledge of charity regulation and financial compliance with the charity commission and other regulators. 

• High level of interpersonal and emotional intelligence to enable a trauma informed, reflective and calm working environment. 

• Experience overseeing or supporting internal operations, including line-management, preferably within a charity. 

• Experience of strategic planning, with the ability to think critically and creatively. 

• Willingness to engage in co-production and co-design to include those with lived experience in all levels of planning, service design and governance, a bonus. 

• Ability to build positive relationships with external stakeholders at every level. 

• Commitment to The Magpie Project’s mission and values, with a passion for working in non-profit organisations to create positive social impact. 

Skills

About the Role

Through our range of programmes, we work to inspire and empower young people, whatever their background to succeed in work and life. A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage the delivery of our EDI programmes and have a real impact on the participation of underrepresented groups in our programmes, as well as building on our established position within the skills sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, managing and evaluating senior stakeholder relationships with external networks. With a proven track record of consistently delivering projects and programmes with high-quality results, the successful candidate will have up to date ED&I knowledge and demonstrable experience of raising the profile of an organisation within this setting.  The candidate will be experienced in development of programmes and partnerships to suit delivery of strategic objectives, and be able to project manage internal colleagues to deliver against set KPIs.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working within a charity that focuses on developing young people from all backgrounds, and will have the experience, knowledge and understanding to drive forward EDI in external facing programmes.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

7. General

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.

Waterloo Community Counselling (WCC) offers life-changing accessible and affordable counselling in the heart of London and is a small charity that has a big impact! We are one of only a handful of Low-Cost Counselling services offering weekly therapy at reduced fees, or for free. We reach adults from diverse backgrounds and our unique Multi-Ethnic Counselling Service (MECS) provides free mother-tongue counselling to migrants, refugees and asylum seekers who have survived exile, torture, human trafficking and modern slavery in 30 languages.

WCC has gone through a period of transformation and operational improvements over the past 2 years which has increased the charity’s financial and organisational resilience. We are now looking for a Finance Manager who will join a well-developed team and be responsible for embedding the progress made and identifying further areas for improvement.

About the role of Finance Manager

The Finance Manager is a core member of WCC's management team and is a key advisor and partner to the CEO on all areas of finance.  The post-holder will have responsibility for timely and efficient management of the day-to-day accounting function and all internal and external financial reporting.  Reporting directly to the CEO this role is part of a friendly, highly productive and collaborative, dedicated clinical and operational staff team of ten.

It is a varied and senior position that is part time, 3 days per week, and we are happy to discuss how the hours are worked over the week. It’s hybrid, working a minimum of one day per week in our Waterloo office. The salary is £45,000 to £48,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW etc).
• Have 5+ years PQE, preferably with charity sector/ fund accounting experience.
• Able to demonstrate working independently and as finance lead.
