What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Establish and develop a responsive Business Partner type relationship with stakeholders and Senior Leadership Teams 

• Provide professional advice, support and coaching to Archdeacons and Senior Managers on the interpretation and application of all Ecclesiastical measures, HR policies, processes and procedures, ensuring these are applied fairly and consistently 

• Advise the Senior Leadership on the people management implications of church policy and people strategy 

• Effectively and efficiently manage a portfolio of HR casework and staff recruitment 

• Advise and recommend appropriate courses of action in line with relevant best practice, policies, employment legislation and statutory frameworks 

Who We’re Looking For: 

• At least 3 years’ experience of working at HR Partner or Adviser level in a generalist role covering HR practice 

• Experience of working in an HR role carrying out a range of HR duties, ideally in the church or charity sector 

• Experience of supporting managers in all areas of people matters, including recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, absence and sickness casework 

• Experience of working within a customer focused environment with the ability to establish good working relationships with a variety of people e.g., senior leaders, job applicants, employees

About the role  

As we launch our new 5 year strategy we are looking for an experienced Head of Finance & Business Services to help deliver our mission and support the growth and consolidation of the charity. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will play a key role in implementing our new strategy as well as managing risk.

You will take overall responsibility for the organisation’s financial management, working closely with the Chief Executive and the Treasurer.

• Proactively build a personal portfolio of HNWIs and UHNWIs able to give £1m+ through relationship development, appropriate and dynamic pitching and influencing and negotiating expertise.

To be successful, you’ll need:  

• Proven track record of raising “Principal gifts” of £1m+.

• Experience managing the complexities of income management and KPI’s to monitor the teams progress and growth.
• Experience of line management / supervising the work of others; leading and motivating others and driving change.

Job Purpose

• This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all our boroughs.
• Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.
• The objectives of the service include:
• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
• To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
• To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.

The Role

The role of the senior support worker is to support the team manager with the smooth running of the allocated site and staff; supporting development and rest of the team including volunteer recruiting, induction (training and development) and supervision. Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office. There will be a requirement for flexible out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity. You will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.
