Role and Responsibilities
We are looking to recruit a law graduate (1-3 years post-graduation) with experience in environmental law, economic justice and/or international development to join our small but dynamic team. Depending on experience, the role will support our programmes challenging economic injustice caused by environmental damage, biodiversity loss, deforestation, illegal resource trafficking, climate change and conflicts over natural resources; promoting transparency and accountability in public and private institutions to encourage responsibility and minimise the impacts of corruption; and promoting fairer and more effective economic and fiscal policy tools to help states meet development goals and enhance the rule of law. A more detailed explanation of our work is set out in our 2024-2026 Strategy.
Working as part of a small, busy team, you will have the opportunity to learn at very close hand what it means to work for an international NGO focusing on achieving environmental and economic justice. You will develop projects with a range of partners, including international agencies, NGOs and CSOs, and governments and government bodies. You will collaborate with a range of volunteer lawyers (law firms and barristers chambers) who are leading experts in their field. The role will also involve project management, assistance with fundraising, fulfilling compliance obligations, and evaluating and learning from projects.
Key Competencies:
• Relevant experience and knowledge (either from previous work experience or study) relating to environmental law and policy and/or economic justice in an international development context;
• A law graduate with a good understanding of how law is useful to achieving reform on the above;
• Demonstrable understanding (either from previous work experience or study) of key issues in sustainable international development, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals;
• Experience in developing countries and transitional economies;
• Ability to develop and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders, including donors, NGOs, civil society organisations and government representatives, on an international basis;
• Familiarity with, or understanding and enthusiasm for the concept and practice of, pro bono legal assistance;
• Demonstrable project management skills and experience, including administration and coordination;
• Ability to work on a wide range of tasks simultaneously;
• Excellent research skills to effectively convey research findings;
• Comfortable working independently and proactively and as part of a small team with a busy caseload;
• Strong interpersonal and team working skills;
• Some experience or demonstrable ability in donor management, including managing existing relationships, meeting donor reporting requirements and in raising funds for future projects and activities (desirable);
• Working knowledge of another language used in Sub-Saharan Africa or Latin America such as French, Portuguese, Kiswahili or Spanish (desirable).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the Senior Legal Managers and/or Legal Manager to deliver and implement the programme strategy, in conjunction with the Executive Director, partners, staff and Board;
2. Assist in developing an understanding of the most effective policy tools and legal interventions to deliver the programme objectives, through engagement with volunteer lawyers, ILP partners, staff, Board and others;
3. Support the building and maintenance of ILP’s programme(s). This includes:
• Liaising with partners to identify legal/policy needs and offer potential legal and/or policy reform solutions, including through conducting legal analysis;
• Assisting the programme lead(s) to build a pipeline of relevant projects and cases, including through engaging in outreach to potential pro bono partners;
• Supporting programme staff to network and build relationships with volunteer lawyers who have relevant technical expertise;
• Mapping and developing relationships with regional and international development entities and other technical assistance providers to identify potential partners, needs and focus countries;
• Representing the programme(s) in external fora and events;
4. Assist with ensuring effective project delivery and evaluation of impact including:
• Coordinating project implementation through the full project cycle;
• Supporting the preparation of financial and narrative reports for donors;
• Maintaining strong programme management and knowledge management systems and processes;
5. Support fundraising activities to support both the programme(s) and organisational overheads, including exploring opportunities for potential funding and assisting with funding applications;
6. Share in the necessary operational activities of the organisation. This includes some administration and contributions to website and social media communications.
Key details about the position:
• Location:Flexible for the right candidate including those outside the UK. Office premises are located in central London, with hybrid working (approx. 2 days per week in the office) if London-based.

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Camden and Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity. Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our employment specialists based within primary and secondary care.
This role is still within its infancy and will be working closely with the Executive Director to lead and oversee our employment services. Recent investment in our services has led to the growth of our employment offer and this role currently oversees four employment teams across Camden and Islington. The post holder will work closely with the other members of the senior leadership team to shape, deliver and evaluate Hillside’s business strategy and support on ensuring Hillside continues to meet the needs of the local mental health community.

Stepping Stones exists to improve the lives of adults with learning disabilities. We are seeking an enthusiastic and agile manager who will be at the heart of the organisation and will lead a small team of qualified tutors and volunteers in continuing to provide high quality experiences for the people who attend. Stepping Stones is a community that loves to socialise and learn new skills together. Our current programme includes art, dance, drama and music, together with digital skills and cooking.
This role is responsible for strategic development with the guidance of the Board of Trustees, income generation, and the management of all aspects of service delivery. It is our intention to appoint a new post of Activity Co-ordinator to support the Charity Manager as budgets allow. You will play an active part in designing this role so that it enhances our delivery and increases capacity within the organisation.
Our experience during the pandemic and consequently, has shown us that being together in real life is an essential element of our offer to the people who attend Stepping Stones and so this post requires a physical presence preferably 3 days per week during the period when classes are running (30 weeks per year). Stepping Stones is a thriving, longstanding and highly valued community organisation. We have delivered activities for over 30 years and our weekly classes are an important part of the lives of people who attend.
Our main delivery is a timetable of up to 14 weekly classes from our base in a multipurpose community centre. We also have activities off site including gardening at a local allotment and music and art classes at a day centre and residential home. Each week over 100 people benefit from our activities.

Established in 2021, Opportunity Green is a fast-growing not-for-profit organisation that helps to identify and unlock opportunities to tackle climate change. We build ambitious coalitions, support climate vulnerable countries in international negotiations and find innovative legal pathways to fight climate change. We are now looking for a Climate Economics & Diplomacy Senior Director to expand our work on a climate just economy.
What’s the role?
Economics is the study of the distribution of finite resources across our planet. And yet the profession often seems to forget that resources really are finite, and that distribution must be equitable. The number one argument we hear against most climate measures is economic: what about growth? What about jobs? What’s the business case? Opportunity Green’s Senior Director will develop our narrative to ward off these questions but more fundamentally, bring economics systems change – and how to influence policymakers to incorporate this change into their thinking - to the forefront of all our work. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for any economist who believes that the climate movement needs more economic expertise and can bring ideas on how to embed the necessary change in economic thinking to climate policy. You will be OG’s first economist hire (other than the CEO) and you will have the opportunity to shape our economics strategy.
Initially you will work with our established international shipping policy team, working to ensure that the shipping sector which is historically undertaxed, begins to contribute in financial terms to climate vulnerable countries. Meanwhile, many large shipping companies have large revenue which goes to shareholders in the global north. One of your first projects could be to assess the current geographical imbalance of financial flows from the shipping industry, and work alongside our international shipping team to reimagine the economics of the shipping sector to meet our climate goals.
A very similar argument can be made on the aviation side. The EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) currently only covers intra-EU flights but soon a discussion will be had on whether that should also cover international flights. Opportunity Green believes the EU ETS should cover international flights and that, very importantly, some of the ETS revenue must go to support the climate vulnerable. We are looking for someone who can support both these goals but more fundamentally, raise the profile of both sectors as potential sources of climate finance in broader international climate finance discussions.
However, we recognise that agreeing to raise revenue from aviation and shipping sectors is only the first step. The next step will be to ensure that those revenues actually reach climate vulnerable communities. The Senior Director will work with the international shipping team to expand OG’s policy on the distribution of revenues, with the explicit goal of maximising their support for climate vulnerable communities. You will follow international climate finance discussions and strategically intervene for OG when our goals can be supported.
Initially you will report to the CEO, while the Chief Strategy and Impact Officer is on parental leave. You will manage a team of three, with one direct line report initially, who are already well established in supporting climate vulnerable countries in the International Maritime Organization.

- Ability to get to grips with technological and policy detail around aviation, shipping, buildings, steel and agriculture as necessary and to know when that detail is needed in policymaker meetings
- Experience of leading a team and working with staff to inspire the greatest possible impact, including remote staff
- Ability to clearly articulate a theory of change and direct a team to articulate that theory of change
- Active listening skills, negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders

The successful candidate will be offered an annual salary of £80,000 plus 10% employer-contributed pension. Please note that OG has fixed salary scales, with the possibility of step increases with strong performance. The team also leads on developing normative programme documents and standards, advising and supporting on the delivery of IPD's programme capacity enhancement strategy. PSK collaborates with many functions across the organisation including policy, advocacy, campaigns, fundraising, communications, as well as with WaterAid partners and collaborators.
About the Role:
As our Utility Partnerships Senior Advisor, you will co-lead the delivery of core team responsibilities regarding the development and effective management of Sanitation and Water Operator Partnerships (SWOPs) and other closely associated utility partnerships topics. Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, you will provide high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's utility partnerships programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.
The Utility Partnerships Senior Advisor is a senior position in the WASH Systems and Programme Partnerships team, reporting to the Utility Partnerships Lead.
In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, you will co-lead the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and co-lead the development of relevant standards and guidance. You will also provides strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.
About You:
- A progressive career record demonstrating strong technical and operational experience in one or more areas of sanitation and water supply service delivery, understanding of technical and operational management models, asset management and infrastructure, resilience, and sustainability, as well as other inter-related topics to sanitation and water services in both urban, rural and low-income settings.
- Substantial experience in the development of strategic partnerships demonstrating excellent networking and negotiation skills.
- Sound understanding of organisational development and change management processes, ideally in a utility setting.

We are looking for a Senior Programme Management Specialist to join our Development Programmes Unit (DPU), the hub for impactful long-term development programming in Plan International UK. The role will look after our Young Health Programme (YHP), which is Plan International UK’s largest corporate funded programme. The YHP is a complex multi-country multi-million public health programme and is currently implemented in 8 countries, supporting the health rights and wellbeing of young people (10-24) in marginalised communities with a specific focus on the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This gender-transformative programme uses a range of strategies including youth empowerment through peer education, community mobilisation, health system strengthening and youth-led advocacy. The YHP takes a holistic approach to working with young people which means that Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and emotional well-being health are addressed and mainstreamed throughout the programme.
This role is a great opportunity for individuals with proven programme management experience, particularly in public health initiatives. As a Senior Programme Management Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of two programme specialists and a programme coordinator to provide specialist support to Country Offices and partners on programme management. You will have responsibility from project design to project closure while also managing and escalating risks.
Your role will be essential in ensuring clear communication, compliance, and problem-solving within the team as well as with external partners. You will be facilitating regular meetings with donors regarding programme management, technical queries, compliance, and reporting. Expertise in public health issues, especially NCDs, peer education, and adolescent health will be considered as advantageous.
Ideal candidates will have a degree or equivalent qualification in international development or a related field and will be able to motivate and develop a team of diverse professionals. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders are key skills for this role, as well as having strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

Delivering the philanthropy plan
- Manage the philanthropy programme at Bookmark, working with the Head of Fundraising to grow the major donor portfolio within the wider strategy
- Lead a team of three to deliver on the fundraising strategy, providing direction, support and guidance. Line manage the Philanthropy Manager and support their professional development
- Work with trustees, staff, and our wonderfully supportive Partnerships Board to build a robust pipeline of supporters and secure introductions
- Own and build a portfolio of new major donors through the full donor cycle who give £25,000 or more, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey
- Lead on the philanthropy events strategy and programme, providing support to the Philanthropy Manager and wider team in delivering income generating, cultivation and stewardship events
- Create compelling, relevant and tailored funding proposals, reports and collateral to inspire and inform donors, reflecting Bookmark’s strong brand
- Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team to ensure opportunities to maximise income for the fundraising team

Essential
- A successful track record in high value fundraising and acquisition, including a proven track record of securing five or six-figure gifts, to meet or exceed targets

About the role of Finance Manager
The Finance Manager is a core member of WCC's management team and is a key advisor and partner to the CEO on all areas of finance.
