Job Title: Head of Fundraising Strategy, Performance & Insight
Location: Homeworking with the requirement to occasionally attend our Head Office (Vauxhall)
Salary: £60,066.12 per annum (this is inclusive of a London Weighting allowance of £3,000 which may be applicable depending on your home location and any agreed permanent homeworking arrangement).
Contract type: Full-time, Fixed term (12 months)

We are recruiting a Head of Fundraising Strategy, Performance & Insight (maternity cover) on a 12 month contract to lead strategic fundraising development and planning, working with the Director of Fundraising, Communications and Policy to ensure the ambition and interests of the directorate are represented in the new organisational strategy.
This is a role for someone with a deep understanding of different forms of fundraising and the opportunities that exist for a values-driven organisation like Refuge. You will have extensive experience in one or more of Refuge’s key income streams, and an understanding of communications, digital, brand and policy, as well as high financial literacy and experience of complex funding arrangements. You’ll bring strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex, cross-organisational initiatives from planning through to execution.
This is an exciting time to join the charity - with a new CEO in place, we are developing a new strategy to support our vision for a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated. This role is critical to that process, offering fantastic opportunity for an innovative and strategic fundraising leader with a proven track record of using data, insight and market knowledge to shape and deliver successful income strategies, drive performance, and unlock new opportunities for sustainable growth.

About the Role
As CEO, you will lead the strategic and operational development of the Society, with a particular focus on:
• Fundraising & income generation – developing and securing grants, donations, and earned income
• Team leadership – line managing a small staff team and supporting a wide network of volunteers
• Stakeholder engagement – acting as the public face of the Society and deepening key partnerships
• Strategic planning – creating a 3-year vision and business plan for long-term sustainability
• Programme oversight – ensuring delivery of existing and new conservation and community projects

About You
We’re looking for a resourceful, proactive leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You’ll need:
• Proven fundraising experience (grants, trusts, individuals, corporates)
• Leadership skills with experience managing staff and/or volunteers
• Confidence in managing budgets and business planning
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine passion for the countryside, community engagement, and conservation
Experience with membership models, event programming, or working in a similar community/landscape context would be an advantage.

The role is a full time and permanent contract. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 40/60 basis (40% working from the office).
We are looking for a Project Active Assistant to support the delivery of Project Active; Students’ Union UCL’s programme designed to engage inactive students in sport and physical activity. Working with the Project Active Coordinator, you will deliver beginner-friendly, accessible and inclusive sport and physical activity events throughout the year including women’s-only provision, pay and play sessions and several mass participation events. You will be an enthusiastic ambassador for Project Active, supporting on the ground delivery and providing a friendly point of contact for students. This is a hands-on role where you will regularly be required to work on site and out at events throughout the year.
