People to Places is a charitable organisation based in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, UK. It provides a community transport service for residents of the area who have transportation and/or mobility issues due to age, sickness or disability (mental or physical), poverty, or because of a lack of adequate and safe public transport services. With a fleet of minibuses specially adapted to assist people with mobility equipment or additional mobility needs, People to Places delivers high-quality services aimed at improving social inclusion and accessibility. In addition, we also provide Shopmobility services in Windsor and Maidenhead town centres, this service provides the loan of wheelchairs and mobility scooters to people with limited mobility, to help them shop and access leisure and commercial facilities within the area.

We’ve been fundraising since 1988, but this newly created role allows you to consolidate our past successes, significantly diversifying and enhancing the quality and value of our supporter base. 

As a senior manager in the organisation, this post gives you the opportunity to develop our support for local people who are lonely, isolated and with little or no mobility. Therefore, you will contribute to enhancing the organisation, as well as playing a critical fundraising role. 

You are ambitious, with the drive and expertise across a range of fundraising activities. So, you will have:

• Experience with identifying funding opportunities, particularly through grants, maintaining a pipeline of opportunities, taking a creative approach to problem solving, to capitalise on opportunities.
• A good track record of achieving fundraising targets, generating income through a range of sources including Trusts/high net worth individuals, Corporate Partners and Commissioned Services.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, with the ability to create compelling cases for support and delivering impactful presentations that tell stories and lead to new supporters getting involved.
• A strategic and evidence-led approach to measure impact and influence change, with strong influencing skills in a range of settings.
• Nurturing and growing relationships with a range of stakeholders and able to quickly build trust and confidence including working with and building strong, positive relationships with Trustees and our keen volunteer base.

With excellent organisational and prioritising skills, risk management and decision making, ideally you will have team leadership experience including volunteer management or delivering fundraising through the use of volunteers. An understanding of the needs of people with mobility issues and disabilities is desirable but not essential.

Location: Our main office is located in Maidenhead and we have Shopmobility offices in Windsor and Maidenhead that may also be used. 

Hybrid working is available, in the context that, initially at least, this post needs to be highly visible, both internally and externally.

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with community and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.

We are now looking for an experienced and passionate events manager to lead a team and help us to continue to deliver our targets and identify new opportunities for our challenge events portfolio. This currently comprises of running events, triathlons, cycling events, overseas and UK challenges. You’ll support the creation and delivery of the events strategy, developing a varied and impactful portfolio which positions Breast Cancer Now as the go-to charity for events.

With the support of the senior events manager, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the Great North Run and Women V Cancer partnership. The post holder will also have their own budget areas working to agreed targets, maximising income, and minimising expenditure through innovative stewardship and strong budget management to maintain engagement and retention of supporters. They will also have line management (not all direct) for 1 event officer, 1 event executive and 1 event assistant.

About you

We’re looking for someone with experience of successfully delivering events programmes, including recruitment of participants, development of supporter journeys and stewardship communications to meet net income and supporter retention targets.

You’ll be an excellent relationship builder, with knowledge of the charity events sector. You’ll be an experienced line manager able to develop your line reports. You’ll also have demonstrable knowledge of setting and meeting financial targets to ensure a good return of investment for the charity.

As well as leading a high performing team we are looking for someone with experience of successfully delivering marketing and recruitment plans, developing supporter journeys and stewardship communications. You’ll be experienced in delivering charity events and possess outstanding organisational, communication and marketing skills. You’ll need to have built excellent relationships with third party event organisers, tour operators and suppliers to the overall benefit of your organisation.

About TASO

The Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education (TASO) is an affiliate What Works Centre, and part of the UK Government’s What Works Movement. Our vision is to eliminate equality gaps in higher education (HE). Our mission is to improve lives through evidence-informed practice.

TASO was set up in 2019 and became an independent charity in April 2021. Our work focuses on the generation, synthesis and dissemination of high-quality evidence about effective practice in widening participation and student outcomes. The Role

The Head of Communications and Engagement will lead TASO’s communications and engagement work plan to raise the profile of the organisation. They will also lead on TASO’s evidence mobilisation work plan, working with the Chief Executive, to ensure TASO’s research and evaluation outputs are effectively disseminated. 

This will involve ensuring a strategic approach to all communications activities, leading on the delivery of external-facing materials and publications, overseeing a vibrant social media presence and events programme. The role will have overall responsibility for a website redevelopment project over the next year. 

• Ensure a strategic and effective approach to communications, dissemination and stakeholder engagement.

• Lead on the design, branding and dissemination of innovative and engaging communications – both print and online, including oversight of the editorial and publication process for all TASO research reports and resources. 

• Lead on TASO’s evidence mobilisation plan, working with the Chief Executive and Research and Evaluation Team to ensure research outputs are effectively disseminated and achieve impact.

• Support the Chief Executive on delivering TASO’s policy aims. Lead on engagement with and monitoring of Westminster activities (e.g. select committees, reports, consultations) and liaise with key communications and policy stakeholders in the Department for Education, Office for Students and other relevant bodies.

• Take overall responsibility for TASO’s online and social media presence. This will involve overseeing a critical website redevelopment project over the next year and also includes oversight of the creation, upkeep and management of digital channels and content.

• Lead on TASO’s media relations, producing high quality press releases and news stories for the website, liaising with journalists, as appropriate.

• Lead on the delivery of a programme of stakeholder engagement events for a wide range of audiences. The events will range from small training sessions to larger events including publication launches and an annual conference.

• Provide line management for communications staff who will support all activities – including two direct reports and overseeing a team of three. 

• Undertake projects and duties as required or requested by the Chief Executive or broader team.

Salary: £59,588 (London) / £55,890 (National) per annum

• Achieved their full accountancy qualification or be qualified by experience.

Arts Emergency – Head of Fundraising

Arts Emergency, a mentoring charity and support network aiming to address the inequalities in the creative and cultural sectors, is looking for an experienced and motivated fundraiser to provide leadership and management for fundraising activities. 

Since 2013, Arts Emergency has been providing 16-25 year olds in London, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and beyond with a trained mentor working in their field of interest. Mentors help Young Talent set goals, explore their passions and make decisions about higher education, training and careers.  After they complete a year of mentoring, Young Talent can continue to access opportunities, advice, resources and paid work from the Arts Emergency Network until they turn 26. As Friends and Patrons Manager, you will:

• Lead the strategic development of the Friends and Patrons programme, with a focus on innovation and driving growth
• Oversee the stewardship journeys of Friends and Patrons (£55 to £20,000), with a portfolio of your own donors giving at the higher level

The role will also focus on developing membership journey programmes to ensure our members receive top quality service from the Society and that all membership processes are undertaken with efficiency, energy and effectiveness.

The Membership Manager will also play a crucial role in ensuring that we are promoting RSTMH, and its membership offer, to our members and supporters. This person would be the first point of contact for our members and so must be professional, a sound communicator and efficient.

Part of this role involves creating policies and processes to ensure members feel valued at each stage of their journey with RSTMH, developing new marketing products and materials for recruiting and retaining members where necessary.

The successful applicant will have Membership management experience within a relevant charity or learned society setting and will relish the opportunity to take on a new challenge, working on their own initiative for much of the time.

The role

• To lead on developing and implementing current strategies to increase members of RSTMH, including monitoring and evaluating performance against plans and KPIs
• To analyse, identify and develop plans to optimize member journeys
• Manage enquiries from current/prospective members in a professional, timely manner, to agreed service targets
• To cultivate strong relationships with members and understand their specific needs so that RSTMH can support them most effectively via targeted communications
• Establish and maintain systems to report and evaluate RSTMH’s membership retention and recruitment success
• Deliver reports to keep the team, CEO and Board up to date with progress on membership activities and strategy 
• Support the Senior Manager with leading our CRM work, which is using Civi CRM
• Work with the team to develop activities and marketing campaigns to improve membership value and take-up
• Develop and oversee communication templates for members, and ensure these are kept up to date
• Keep up to date with best practice in membership management
• Ensure the membership pages and members Area of the website are up to date, accurate and compelling
• Ensure the RSTMH website, journals, materials and other channels have up to date membership information
• Work with a third part finance company to ensure membership subscription payments and renewals are processed efficiently and effectively, and ensure payment processes are fit for purpose
• To be a member of the International Members Committee and help utilize the group to support membership goals  
• Maintaining and improve processes for members
• Establish systems that monitor updates within the membership effectively and ensure that they are communicated to the CEO and Board of Trustees regularly
• Work closely with the Communications Manager to commission and create content for the bi-weekly Members newsletter and membership recruitment campaigns

Person specification

• At least 3 years' experience of working in a membership role, with experience of recruitment and retention campaigns
• Experience of working in a learned society or membership organization
• Working in international development or global health is desirable
• Passion and commitment to the work of the Society
• Experience of developing and delivering successful membership programmes, that have increased recruitment and demonstrably reduced attrition
• Experience of account management of suppliers is desirable
• Experience of creating compelling messages to different audiences
• Highly organised, with ability to self-plan and prioritise workloads 
• Ability to communicate technical details to non-technical people
• Experience of using social media in a professional capacity Knowledge of how to use and optimize a CRM system for membership retention and recruitment
• An understanding of Civi CRM is desirable
• An understanding of current and emerging membership and marketing trends
• A solid understanding of relationship building and how to create a compelling membership journey
• Excellent oral, copywriting and communication skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skills including, communication, influencing and collaboration
• Ability to understand how membership programmes works alongside digital and marketing campaigns

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.

CLAPA supports people affected by cleft to take control of their journey, connect with others, and use their voices to impact the future of care. Our vision is that no one affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom will go through their journey alone.

We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) to join our small but dynamic Fundraising team.

The role requires excellent donor care and stewardship skills. All forms of communication will be required including the proactive use of digital channels such as the website and social media platforms.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving. The role will also support the Head of Income in the delivery of a legacy and major donor program.

You will develop and deliver excellent stewardship programmes that drive retention by deepening audience understanding of the challenges that people affected by cleft face and the impact that their donations make. Using data and insight, you’ll deliver compelling campaigns, with people affected by cleft right at the centre. You’ll use creative tools and techniques to demonstrate impact and inspire future action.
