We are seeking a Dementia Carers Support Officer who can make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in the diverse communities of Redbridge. We are a Queen's Award winning charity with over 30 years experience of supporting unpaid carers in Redbridge. The post holder will focus on supporting carers of someone with dementia, by providing them with advice, information, referrals and access to peer social and learning activities. The role requires an understanding of health and social care services, particularly in relation to support for unpaid carers and someone who can show compassion and understanding to carers in crises or facing complex challenges. A key outcome is ensuring carers can live a healthy and fulfilling life alongside caring and not be at risk of acute isolation.
This is a varied role, suited to someone with the experience and confidence to lead peer groups, activities, outreach and work with professionals at all levels. There is plenty of scope within the role to develop new services in response to carer needs. The post holder will work within a team of Community Support Officers. This is a job-share post with an existing part-time Dementia Support Officer. The role is based mainly in Ilford and throughout Redbridge, with some home working.

Our National Leadership Team is looking for a Personal Assistant to join us in our London office, to help us maximise what we can achieve as a team, and to build stronger processes and culture for our geographically-dispersed charity.
Main purpose of the role
We are looking for a Personal Assistant / Executive Assistant to the National Leadership Team and Board Secretary, based in our London office. You will have a key role in helping us build our capacity, effectiveness and support systems, working closely with the National Leader / CEO and our passionate and caring leadership team.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Provide high-quality administrative and logistical support to the National Leadership Team;
- Coordinate a range of L'Arche national meetings and forums for people with and without learning disabilities;
- Play an important part in internal and external communications, and in project managing cross-cutting initiatives;
- Support governance as a registered charity, company, and care provider through the formal role of Board Secretary;
This position does not offer visa sponsorship and is best suited for a candidate already located in the London area.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Excellent organisation skills, responsiveness and adaptability to tasks and demands;
- Initiative and an ability to innovate improved ways of doing things;
- Interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships, resolve tensions, and create partnerships with people at all levels;
- Discretion and diplomacy in dealing with confidential information and sensitive issues;

Job Purpose:
The Family Advocate will provide trauma-informed specialist support to women in the community and in prison who are at risk of losing custody of their children/have already experienced child removal. This role will also upskill colleagues, and work with Children’s Social Care teams to improve the response to women impacted by the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with the criminal justice system, who are at risk of experiencing/have experienced child removal.
2. Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including upskilling through information and training sessions on Children’s Social Care and family court processes, and increase Children's Social Care teams' knowledge and understanding on women in the criminal justice system.
3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as Children’s Social Care, probation, prison, to ensure a collaborative approach to women’s needs.
