As the senior finance business partner you will work closely with the wider team as well as moulding the department and building relationships with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and work in partnership with other teams providing data and analysis relevant to the business strategy.
• Use data from various data sources to understand historic trends and use this information to create financial models and presentations to inform budget decisions.
• Create income and cost Key Performance Indicators and research other organisations to measure performance.
• Provide timely and accurate monthly management accounts including income and expenditure, balance sheet reconciliations and Key Performance Indicators.
• Prepare budgets according to timelines in discussion with the team and Chief Financial Officer.
• Prepare monthly rolling forecasts of income and expenditure, working closely with other members of the Team,
• Undertake monthly reviews with budget holders to review income and direct costs  and feedback to key stakeholders where necessary.
• Take an active role in aiding senior managers and team members understanding of their financial responsibilities.
• Working with the Financial Accounts Team, ensure complete and accurate transaction processing.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a desire to drive change in an organisation, influencing senior stakeholders at multiple levels. Additional skills include highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise and work across different teams.

Job description

• To work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Deputy Head of Fundraising to contribute to the development of strategy, budgets and plans across the department.
• To be collectively responsible with other Fundraising Managers for progress against strategy, budgets and plans.
• To proactively develop a culture of collaborative working in the department by effectively leading and managing a number of key fundraising projects.
• To ensure an informed Direct Mail program is delivered, maximising income through effective data segmentation, use of emotive case studies, powerful propositions and asks and appropriate donor pathways.

GRT are looking for an experienced, passionate and delivery focused Finance Manager to join our team in Birmingham. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial one-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. GRT’s aim is to eradicate poverty by providing humanitarian aid, relief and providing sustainable programmes to the needy across the globe. 

The ideal candidate will have a have a genuine understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and values of the GRT to implement the financial policies whilst working to support our dynamic teams. The Finance Manager will report directly to the CEO.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for preparing financial statements, overseeing monthly management accounts, managing payroll operations, handling accounts payable and receivable, and preparing the annual budget.

Main Responsibilities:

· Ensuring that financial and accounting services adhere to legal standards and contribute to the smooth operation of GRT activities.

· Annually reviewing and updating of all finance related policies.

· Creating an annual budget and regularly monitoring and comparing it with actual figures monthly.

· Managing the finance team by assigning tasks and overseeing their performance.

· Entering all financial data into finance software. (QuickBooks, Sage etc)

· Creating financial statements, overseeing cash management protocols, and managing accounts payable processes.

· Uploading pension contributions to the pension provider's platform

· Maintaining accurate ledgers and conducting monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.

· Ensuring the accuracy of monthly payroll processing.

· Handling banking activities for cash and cheques received.

· Reconciling donations received from online gateways such as JustGiving and Givebrite, as well as those received via standing order or direct debits.

· Administering invoice approval and payment processes, as well as operating expense claim procedures and payments.

· Addressing internal and external customer queries.

· Preparing project payments requests and donor receipts.

· Handling communications with HMRC regarding payroll and Gift Aid.

· Overseeing the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets in accordance with contractual and financial regulations.

· Overseeing all payments to suppliers and partner projects, including both local and international transactions.

· Generating month-end reports and quarterly project fund balances.

· Responding to bank inquiries and providing necessary information.

· Completing year-end QuickBooks reports for trustees and the accountant and addressing any inquiries they may have.

· Preparing for the year-end audit and managing inquiries from auditors.

· Concluding the year-end report and submitting it to the Charity Commission.

General Duties

Personal Specification:

· Degree in Finance or Computing.

· Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA).

· Eight years of accounting experience, with at least two years specifically in Charity Finance.

· Experience in preparing and submitting annual accounts in SORP format.

· Excellent working knowledge of accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar software.

· Up-to-date understanding of relevant charity and financial legislation, bookkeeping practices, accounting conventions, and best practices.

· Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems.

· Strong numerical, analytical, and strategic skills, including database development and management.

· Meticulous attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills for presenting to various audiences, including non-financial specialists.

· Willingness to work variable hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.

Job Title: Finance Manager - Fostering

Salary: £37,539 - rising to £41,709 after 18 months in line with pay policy - plus £750 Home Working allowance  and London Weighting £4,082 (if applicable)

Hours & Contract: 35 Hours per week - Permanent Role

We are looking for a CCAB qualified finance person with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a charity or not-for-profit programme finance context. The role will work with the Chief Financial Officer and Programme Leads to manage our financial relationships with these funders and the end-to-end finance activities across our funders and programmes.

E3G currently has offices in London, Brussels, Berlin and Washington DC. Some European travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing monthly internal project reporting to project leads.
• Managing external funder reporting and project audits.
• Liasing with project leads and project management team to provide expert advice and ensure compliance with funder regulations across projects.

Who you are

Your day-to-day

You will support the execution of CDPs philanthropic fundraising strategy. 

You will manage a portfolio of strategic, high-value donors, building strong relationships and implementing creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income.

You will research, develop and secure funding from new donors, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give 7-8 figure grants. 

You will develop an excellent knowledge of CDP’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor. 

You will build excellent external working relationships at all levels with donors, their staff and networks in order to directly influence their decisions.

You will build excellent internal working relationships to engage staff at all levels in supporting donor stewardship to manage prospective and existing donors effectively.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Finance Business Partner will play a critical role in supporting ODI's strategic decision-making and financial management processes. The post holder will lead on partnering with programme managers to provide insights, analysis, and advice on financial performance and strategic opportunities.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will work closely with a Finance Business Partner in supporting half of ODI’s programmes. The other half of programmes will be supported by another Senior Finance Business Partner and Finance Business Partner pairing.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will deputise for the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis when needed.

This new role will work across varied charity management projects to help set up a new UK office for a fast growing medical INGO that has already treated over 13 million patients across Africa!

Role Context

ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable.  We need someone reliable who enjoys and has a proven track record of leading and delivering on operational projects for a business or charity while working with senior stakeholders. They should be a highly organised self-starter who is able to work autonomously and lead on projects as well as a great team player.

The role is varied and has a significant financial element, so strong numerical skills and good written communication skills are both important as well as a flexible, responsible approach. Ideally they will also have experience of, and good knowledge of, the charity sector in the UK.

This role is posted as a one year contract as the needs of the business are changing as the organisation develops. At the end of the year the needs of ALIMA will be reviewed and there may be scope to further shape the role, depending on the needs of the business and funding available at the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Driving and implementing a varied range of projects that support the smooth set-up of the UK charity, in collaboration with the UK Head of Development 
• Virtual Office Management, including organising cloud based filing systems, managing resources including IT, coordinating information collection 

 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Working with the Head of Development & Chair to create and develop new financial management systems for the charity
• Ongoing management of the financial systems of the charity including bookkeeping, invoice management and basic reporting
• Working with colleagues to produce financial reports for the Board, donors and others on request

EVENT & PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATION

Finance Manager

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations you will provide operational management of the finance department of the school, ensuring accurate financial reporting, appropriate financial controls are in place, that cash is managed prudently and that the department provides timely and relevant support to the business

Key Responsibilities include:

• Manage the finance team and the day to day running of the Finance Department to support the operation of the Prep and Senior School and subsidiary companies.
• Prepare management accounts, including balance sheet for the School and its subsidiaries each month showing the financial performance and position of each entity compared with budget, and produce a concise commentary on variances and other matters of significance and review with the DFO
• Providing information for the DFO and Finance and Council meetings as required
• With the DFO, prepare annual budgets for review
• Manage the annual audit and prepare audit files for submission by required date and manage the audit onsite field work team

Job Title: Senior Finance Coordinator

Salary: £37,500 plus Study Assistance

Job Purpose

To manage the day-to-day accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, and providing support in the preparation of financial reports. This includes processing of both purchase and sales invoices and the reconciliation of the books of prime entry. You will assist senior members of the finance team at month end and year end.

Main Duties

1. Go through relevant financial procedures as necessary with new staff.

2. Set up and train new starters on the purchase order system.

3. Review and post all monthly petty cash and prepaid card returns per the management accounts timetable.

4. Maintain the Purchase Ledger making any changes necessary such as name and bank details with the necessary correct documentation.

6. To clear accounts payable queries daily
