Prospectus is delighted to be working with an incredible charity that supports disabled children and their families, helping them to recruit for a Senior Finance Officer role.
 
This role is available on a permanent contract and part time basis (21-24 hours a week). The salary range is between £40,000-£45,000 FTE (pro-rata for 21-24 hours a week). This is a hybrid role, where you will attend the charity’s office in Redbridge (on the Essex/London border), with the opportunity to work from home 50% of the week.
 
Within this Senior Finance Officer role, you will oversee all aspects of the charity’s financial operations and support with strategic decision making.
 
This key role involves managing and maintaining all of the charity’s financial systems, including Sage. You will process income and expenditure, complete monthly bank reconciliations, and prepare monthly management accounts, alongside balance sheet, debtor and creditor reports. The role includes monitoring budgets and forecasts, overseeing the annual budgeting process, and supporting budget holders with financial planning. You will prepare financial reports for Senior Management and the Board of Trustees, attend Trustee meetings, and work closely with external auditors on the annual audit and year-end accounts.
 
In addition, you will support the administration and reporting of restricted funds and grants, work collaboratively with the Fundraising and Office Admin teams on payroll, grant reporting and financial analysis, and contribute to the review and improvement of financial processes while helping to reduce financial and compliance risks across the organisation.
 
To be successful in this role, you will either be fully qualified or working towards an AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent finance qualification. You will bring experience from a similar finance role, preferably within the charity or non-profit sector.
 
You will have an understanding of charity finance and experience supporting with financial reporting of externally funded projects and completing monthly payroll processes. You will have a good working knowledge of SORP and charity accounting standards. You will have strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software and Microsoft Excel. You will be confident in analysing and presenting financial data. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships. You will also be able to prioritise effectively and manage a busy workload.
 
Desirably, you have experience preparing charity accounts for external audit.
 
The role offers flexible working hours, with the 21–24 hours per week able to be arranged over three, four, or five days.

The Role

As one of two Finance Business Partners, the postholder is responsible for ensuring that Royal Museum Greenwich’s strategic ambitions are correctly planned for and that adequate financial resources are in place to achieve them.

Key elements of the role involve advising and supporting all staff with financial responsibilities to ensure that financial decisions are optimised and to keep relevant staff informed of key financial updates and changes, and to communicate any relevant changes to the rest of the Finance team.

Further core responsibilities include supporting assigned Heads of Departments and directors on all financial matters, advising on budgeting and forecasting, monitoring of actual results and ad hoc queries, and working as a team with the other Finance Business Partner, lead on the production of the monthly management accounts pack, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and incisive analysis and commentary.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with a demonstrable track record of working with non-finance managers to achieve high quality reporting, budgeting and forecasting, ideally within government bodies or heritage/cultural/charitable organisations. Excellent analytical skills, the ability to communicate financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders and solve problems are also essential.

This is a permanent full-time in Band 3 - Senior Management. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, working Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm, although due to the nature of the work, some flexibility may be required.

An established international development charity is seeking a Programme Finance Manager to lead financial oversight across a diverse portfolio of global programmes and grants. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to play a senior role in ensuring strong financial governance, donor compliance and effective programme delivery within a mission-led organisation.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations, the Programme Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial management, reporting and control of a substantial portfolio of grant-funded programmes. You will lead programme finance activity across budgeting, forecasting, grant accounting, cost recovery and compliance, working closely with programme and partnerships teams.
This is a highly visible role with responsibility for providing accurate and insightful financial reporting to senior management and governance committees, as well as ensuring that donor requirements are met across a wide range of institutional funders. Our partner is working towards a new strategy launching in 2027 and is seeking external support to review its business and operating model. The organisation is operating in a challenging funding environment, with volatile grant income and a concentrated, ageing donor base, and wants to ensure its future model is financially sustainable, affordable, and resilient.

The review will combine an assessment of income sustainability, cost recovery, and organisational structure. Alongside continued efforts to diversify donor income, they are exploring opportunities for growth and efficiency, including potential changes to their operating model and the feasibility of moving to a dual-entity structure. The consultancy will support senior leadership and trustees to make evidence-based decisions during this transition.

Indicative scope of support includes:

• Reviewing the organisation’s current business model, income profile and cost base, identifying gaps, risks and opportunities for improved financial sustainability.
• Assessing the potential of existing and emerging income streams, the investment required to grow them, and modelling future income scenarios over the medium term.
• Supporting improvements to cost recovery, including benchmarking against peer organisations, refreshing cost recovery policies, and considering adjustments to recovery rates while remaining competitive with donors.
• Reviewing the current organisational and operating structure to identify efficiencies and alternative ways of working, including consideration of a dual-entity or other revised operating models.
• Modelling the financial and operational implications of proposed changes and supporting senior leadership through facilitated discussions and decision-making.

Requirements

• A senior finance leader (preferably qualified accountant) with expereince supporting a complex international charity through a period of transition, including reviewing and redesigning operating models.
• Experience in multi-year financial planning, scenario modelling, cost reduction and cash management. 
• Experience of ideveloping commercial business models and raising investment is strongly desirable.

About the team

This position sits within the UK Finance team, specifically within the Management Accounting team based in London. The Management Accounting team is responsible for providing robust reporting and analysis across the organisation, to ensure that WaterAid UK makes effective financial decisions and long term plans aligned with the 10 year strategy.

About the role 

As our Finance Business Partner you will regularly support and advise UK team leaders and senior managers to review financial aspects of their financial performance and plans, working closely with People, Finance & IT, Policy and Campaigns, and parts of the international programmes directorates. 

• Regularly advise UK team leaders and senior manager to review financial aspects of their operational plans.

• Continue to develop the systematic forecasting process for departments and ensure robust 3 year financial plans are implemented 

• Support strategic decision making on long term financial plans and modelling, supporting WAUKs 10 year strategy 

• Develop enhanced self-service reporting relevant at budget holder and department level that supports optimal decision-making 

• Create efficient finance processes that best deliver the needs of the organisation 

• Provide training and advice to build the financial management competencies of budget holders 

• Work closely with the wider finance and IS team on delivering the organisational priorities 

Requirements

To be successful, you will need: 

• Completed a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA). 

• Experience of formulating, overseeing and reporting on operational plans, including KPIs. 

• Demonstrable innovative ability; using data and insight to inform recommendations for improvements to products, processes or activities. 

• Proven experience of using insight and analysis to provide trends, inform and drive business decisions. 

• Keen interest in information systems, ability to learn new systems quickly. 

• Experience of accounting for restricted funds, preferably in an international organisation. 

• Adaptability to build effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues and work in a collaborative way. 

• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple tasks and confident to work independently. 

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have: 

• Working knowledge of a budgeting and forecasting system. 

• Experience of using Power BI. 

• Working knowledge of SUN Vision Excel, or a similar multi-dimensional accounting system.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Director of Finance to provide strategic leadership of all financial functions of the FMDM Foundation CIO and the wider Congregation.

Reporting to the General Bursar and working closely with the Congregational Leadership Team (CLT) and Trustees, this is a senior and influential role with responsibility for ensuring long-term financial sustainability, robust governance, and compliance with Canon Law, Charity Law, and financial best practice.

The post-holder will play a vital role in enabling the Congregation’s mission and global activities to flourish through sound financial stewardship, effective risk management, and collaborative leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and operational leadership of finance and business administration
• Oversee budgets, management accounts, audits, payroll, and statutory reporting
• Advise Trustees and CLT on financial viability, risk, and forward planning
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission requirements, SORP, Canon Law, Charity Law and Civil Law
• Lead and inspire the Finance Team, supporting professional development and change
• Manage property, assets, investments, and external professional relationships
• Work collaboratively with international FMDM leaders and bursars

About You

You will be a senior finance professional who combines technical excellence with integrity, discretion, and a collaborative leadership style. Essential requirements include:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) qualification

Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) was founded in 2004 and is a charity that fights malaria in a highly effective, accountable and transparent way.

We do this by purchasing and distributing multiple millions of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) at a time in nationwide universal coverage campaigns. This is the most cost-effective way of preventing malaria. AMF receives donations from the public and in the last financial year received US$147 million and, in our history, now over US$780 million. AMF is particularly data-focused and monitors and reports on net use and drives and supports innovation to improve the effectiveness of malaria programmes.

AMF is the world’s third largest funder of nets.

AMF has been rated a top charity for all of the last 16 years by independent charity evaluators GiveWell, Giving What We Can and The Life You Can Save who focus on impact and cost-effectiveness.

We are a team of 15 highly motivated individuals with different skills and experience. Each person has an important role to play. All team members work remotely with constant communication between them. While the team is small, the impact is big - our net distributions protect millions of people. Our largest programme is in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where we are funding 52 million nets to protect 94 million people for distribution during 2025 to 2027. We have ongoing multi-million net programmes in other countries including Chad, Guinea, Nigeria, South Sudan, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.

Role Description

Our activities and commitments are steadily increasing, with 2026 a particularly busy year with over 60 million nets planned for distribution to protect more than 110 million people, and the next few years will be similarly busy. In light of this, AMF is recruiting a Junior Operations Manager to join the operations team and to play an important role in ensuring the success of the net distributions. We are looking for someone with strong quantitative and analytical skills who enjoys working with data. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner with scientific or numbers-oriented mindset, comfortable performing quick, high-quality analyses and communicating findings clearly.

The role will include involvement in all stages of a distribution campaign (pre-agreement, net procurement, post-agreement, during distribution, and post distribution) with a focus on two areas:

1. Data analysis - reviewing and analysing distribution, monitoring and malaria data to support decision-making
2. Operational work to support programmes, in particular across independent monitoring, net accounting and keeping internal systems up to date

Further information

Across the life of each distribution, AMF collects large amounts of data: household registration and distribution data, net transportation information, data from independent monitoring partners both during distributions and after distributions through post-distribution monitoring surveys conducted at 0, 9, 18, and 27 months. We also receive and analyse external data including population estimates and malaria burden data. These data are central to how AMF operates - it informs operational decisions, ensures we can track every net accountably from manufacturing site to household, and it also enables us to report to donors with confidence on where their nets went.

We are looking for a junior operations manager to support in two main areas:

1. Data analysis

This includes:

• Analysing distribution and independent monitoring data to:
  • Ensure data is sufficiently high quality
  • Work with monitoring partners to take quick action if operational adjustments are needed
• Working with the team to build systems enabling process automation such as data quality monitoring
• Providing ad-hoc analyses to support data driven operational decisions
• Maintaining an overview of results across countries to inform benchmarks and interpret new data
• Contributing to how we present and communicate our data, both internally and publicly. This includes summarising findings clearly and appropriately for different audiences.

2. Operational work to support programmes

This includes supporting the operations team through the stages of AMF’s programmes:

Independent monitoring

Tendering and contracting

• Sending documentation to bidding partners and receiving proposals
• Supporting budget comparisons and proposal review
• Drafting agreement documents and processing payments

Project management

• Supporting operations team and partners during data collection, drawing on the data analysis above to troubleshoot issues as they arise

Closeout

• Ensuring all reporting has been delivered (narrative and financial)
• Reviewing reporting, analysing final results and putting them in context of AMF's wider programme
• Analysing project spend against budget, proposing closeout payments and processing them

Net accounting

• Reviewing evidence of net deliveries and arrivals from in-country partners
• Checking nets were sent to locations in the quantities agreed
• Working with ops team members to flag discrepancies and support communications with partners
• After distribution, verifying and documenting nets distributed, leftover, lost or damaged Internal systems
• Keeping AMF's internal systems up to date
• Inputting and processing payments
• Ensuring distribution and project dates are up to date
• Updating the latest status for the nets for each distribution (in production, en-route to country, etc.)

There will be other significant work related to AMF Group Operations, dependent on the candidate’s skill set, such as assisting with documentation for tax deductibility, new AMF entities, and updating our website with blogposts.

Characteristics of the successful candidate

We are looking for someone who has strong intellectual and analytical skills, is a fast learner and who relishes the opportunity to develop their abilities. They will work collaboratively, building strong relationships with the AMF team and in-country partners. The ideal candidate will be motivated to help improve the lives of those affected by the wider impacts of malaria.

Required

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets, identify patterns, and present findings succinctly. Comfort with statistical concepts (e.g. sampling, variability, precision)
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Highly confident in Excel
  • Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis is a plus
• A self-starter who is highly organised with the ability to work independently and manage working time effectively
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills
• Comfort in dealing with and learning about financial matters, willing to examine and compare budgets in detail
• An interest in driving down malaria rates through procedure changes and the use of technology
• Fluent English

Of interest (but not required)

• French language ability
• Experience with data analysis tools beyond Excel (Python, SQL)
• Background in a quantitative field (statistics, economics, science, engineering)
• Previous experience working with survey data or monitoring & evaluation
• Comfortable experimenting with AI tools as part of their workflow

This would be an excellent first job for someone just out of university or someone moving after their first job. All candidates will be evaluated in the same way, based on the characteristics outlined above.

Reporting to a senior member of the operations team.

Location: Remote working (all the AMF team work remotely) within UK/Europe time zones.

The cost of any co-working office space will be covered by AMF. If not a UK resident, part of the first three months may be spent in the UK working with the Operations team.

Initial salary: £28,000 to £35,000
