Executive and Finance Officer

We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Executive and Finance Officer to play a vital role in the operations of Centre for Mental Health.

This varied and interesting role supports our CEO and Board, managing day-to-day operations and taking on key finance and HR responsibilities. This will include financial support: reconciling accounts, processing invoices, supporting our Board by organising meetings and helping with many aspects of recruitment, onboarding and assisting our staff team. In this role, you will be at the heart of our team’s success.

You will need to bring outstanding organisational skills, strong IT ability, and experience in financial processes (with knowledge of Sage 50). Experience of working in a charity is desirable.

About the role:

The Deputy Director leads the strategic development and transformation of Family Action services across the Central region, and implements the organisation’s strategic plan and its 5 key objectives. The role focuses on stakeholder engagement, partnership, service development, and system leadership across sectors. It requires inclusive leadership and the effective line management of Operational Managers and one Assistant Director.

The role has responsibility for service delivery, risk management, performance, quality and practice, safeguarding, income generation and budgets across the region. The post holder drives accountable leadership, innovation, co-creation, and continuous improvement across all the Central region. The Deputy Director will be an excellent communicator, highly resilient, and a decision maker, while always championing Family Action’s values in delivering inclusive, outcome-focused support for children, families, young people and adults.

Main Responsibilities:

· Be accountable for service delivery across the region, contractual performance, safeguarding, quality assurance, risk management, ensuring services meet regulatory standards, delivering positive outcomes and embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do.

· Lead senior stakeholder engagement and foster strong cross-sector partnerships across the geographic area.

· Line manage Operational Managers, and an Assistant Director, oversee budgets to ensure efficient, cost-effective service delivery. Champion the sharing of learning, development of staff and volunteers and best practice across services to support continuous improvement and innovation.

· Strategic and accountable leadership, leading the region by motivating and galvanizing the team to achieve innovation, growth and quality services maximising outcomes for the people we support

· Working alongside the Business Development & Corporate and Marketing team, drive the region’s income generation through generating and responding to new opportunities, and by leading innovative service design and modelling.

· Be part of a dynamic and supportive team of other regional and national Deputy Directors, sharing and influencing cross-organisational decision making, resource allocation, strategy and organizational development and leadership.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be occasions when you will need to attend 2 directorate days and conferences/events. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at the office in Hatfield for its 'All Staff Together' days, at which attendance is mandatory.

Through their Global Fellowship, they work as equal partners across both supporting donor countries and implementing field countries, providing leadership, coordination and facilitation to achieve their transformational mission.

We are seeking a dedicated Global Human Resources Senior Officer who can speak English and French to join their team and play a vital role in strengthening HR operations across the Global Fellowship. You'll provide practical human resources support to members of the TLM Global Fellowship, facilitating the strengthening of HR operations, compliance and systems across members while delivering both direct hands-on and project-based HR support as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a truly international environment, supporting everything from recruitment and policy development to capacity building and cross-cultural collaboration. You'll help maintain HR systems, facilitate global HR network meetings, and contribute to projects that enhance HR processes across the charity. With approximately 30-50 days of overseas travel per year, you'll be supporting diverse countries representing a wide range of programme sizes, capacities and historical presence.

Working in a mission-focused Christian environment, you'll be part of ensuring TLMI can effectively serve those affected by leprosy through well-supported, motivated staff and robust HR practices that uphold the charities Christian values.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Fluent English and conversational French speaking skills (you'll communicate in English day-to-day, but need to chat with French-speaking team members)
• At least 4 years of experience in an HR role
• Experience across the full HR cycle including recruitment, talent management, performance management, policies & procedures, and staff engagement
• Willingness and ability to travel overseas (approximately 30 to 50 nights per annum)

You will be part of a charity that takes Christian commitment seriously, the role involves contributing to the rich spiritual life of the team, including team devotions, prayers and words of encouragement. You'll participate in regular meetings dedicated to prayer and help embed TLMI's Christian values through HR practices across the global fellowship.

This newly established role sits within the Talent and Learning team and reports into the Director, Talent and Learning. The Volunteer Manager role will be responsible for enhancing and expanding Provide's volunteering initiatives.

This includes significantly growing volunteer engagement, fostering strong relationships with staff, implementing strategic development plans and creating meaningful opportunities for volunteers and will play a crucial part in enriching the services we provide and enhancing the overall patient experience within our communities.

The main duties of the Volunteer Manager include:

• Developing a long-term vision for volunteer engagement across the organisation
• Contribute to and deliver the Volunteer Strategy
• Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies across the organisation
• Design and deliver induction, training and mentorship programs to maximise volunteer engagement
• Monitor volunteer attendance and maintain quality experiences
• Co-ordinate cross functional teams to optimise volunteer engagement
• Develop partnerships with external organisations and manage strategic relationships
• Manage volunteer budgets and expenses

This is an exciting time to join Liverpool Zoe’s Place and the Finance Manager is a new post for the organisation. The Baby Hospice transferred to the new charity on May 1st 2025 with great potential for commissioning, and with a healthy financial platform due to the generosity of businesses and the public in Liverpool. This is a new start for Liverpool Zoe’s Place and our plans for a brand new state of the art hospice are agreed and we will move into the new hospice by June 2026, with all the required funding in place.

This post is to manage and co-ordinate the smooth running of the finance department ensuring all processes and procedures are streamlined, efficient and produced in a timely manner. This will involve the management of daily financial matters and overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts for both the hospice and its commercial companies. The role will also involve ensuring good financial governance within the department and across the organisation ensuring charity compliance with financial regulations, and management of commissioning arrangements.
