ROLE SUMMARY

This role will be pivotal in devising, executing, and evaluating impactful marketing and communication strategies that resonate with key audiences and advance upReach's mission of transforming social mobility in the UK. The successful candidate will split their time between PR and external affairs (50%) and marketing campaign development and delivery (50%), with flexibility to adjust based on organisational priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, and closely collaborating with the Junior Marketing and Communications Manager on specific projects, focussed on increasing press coverage, creating compelling marketing materials, and delivering impactful campaigns. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure all communications align with upReach’s brand, with the ultimate aim of championing upReach's mission to transform social mobility in the UK. You will also support upReach in fulfilling our 2024-27 strategic objectives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

PR, External Affairs & Policy:

• PR Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of a PR strategy to raise awareness of upReach and the cause of social mobility, secure new partners/funders, and attract student applicants. 

• Media Content: Create press releases, opinion pieces, blogs and research that reflect the charity’s policy positions on key social mobility issues, and keep upReach website up to date with the latest coverage and articles. 

• Impact Monitoring: Track and quality score incoming press coverage to analyse performance and adjust strategies based on incoming insights, pro-actively securing additional backlinks.

• External Stakeholder Management: Help respond to incoming media inquiries, ensuring timely responses and distribution of materials. Cultivate relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, other social mobility organisations, and other key stakeholders to expand upReach’s visibility, updating the CRM and journalist database accordingly.

• Media, Policy and Research Monitoring: Track and respond to relevant social mobility and education-related policy changes in the UK, ensuring upReach has an active voice in these discussions where appropriate and disseminating key updates to the wider team. 

• Award Submissions: Support the identification and submission of high-quality award entries to build upReach’s profile across key target sectors.

• Crisis Communications: Support in the preparation of responses to any external inquiries or crises, ensuring upReach’s reputation is protected.

• Patron and Ambassador Research: Assist in the research of potential high-profile ambassadors for upReach, ensuring they align with our mission and values.

Marketing Campaigns:

• Student Attraction: Support the delivery of upReach’s student attraction strategy to raise awareness of upReach amongst eligible undergraduate students.

• Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive engagement with beneficiaries, partners, donors, and funders.

• Content Creation: Work closely with the marketing team to produce compelling digital and print content, including case studies, social media posts/templates, blogs, email campaigns, videos and more.

• Brand Consistency: Assist in reviewing external-facing materials to ensure they align with upReach’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and key messages. Act in a consulting role to support the successful delivery of Associate-focussed communications. 

• Marketing Asset Management: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of marketing materials, ensuring resources remain up-to-date and relevant, while monitoring distribution amongst the team.

• Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in reporting on the success of campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.

• Collaborative Marketing: Collaborate with other charities, higher education institutions, and student societies, to develop co-marketing opportunities that expand programme reach among target student audiences.

Other responsibilities:

• Manage the External Affairs rotation to help one member of the Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP), upReach’s internal graduate scheme, to learn more about this area of the charity.

• Continue to develop skills, knowledge and best practice that will enable you to excel in the role, including training on pitching to the media, crafting compelling content and building press relationships.

• Undertake other marketing, communications or administrative tasks that are required within this role.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who is passionate about social mobility and believe that background should not be a barrier to graduate employment. 

To be successful, you would ideally have experience in marketing and communications, particularly in executing PR and policy strategies, facilitating media relations and/or running successful communications campaigns. While not required, experience within a charity, social impact or education-focused organisation would also be highly beneficial for this role.

Required skills:

• Written Communication: Ability to write in a clear and persuasive way that breaks down complex issues into digestible content (e.g. press releases, social media posts and newsletters). Excellent verbal communication for networking, media relations, and public speaking.

• Creativity and Storytelling: Strong creative flair to develop engaging content and narrative that resonate with different audiences across digital and traditional platforms.

• Media Knowledge: Good understanding of the media landscape, with experience in managing media contacts, securing coverage, and building relationships with the press.

• Attention-to-Detail: Strong eye for detail, including excellent proofreading and editing skills, to ensure high-quality, error-free content.

• Brand Awareness: Understanding of how to promote and protect upReach’s brand reputation and the importance of maintaining brand-compliant messaging across all platforms.

• Project Management: Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to quickly adapt to changing situations, including responding to media inquiries or handling unexpected challenges.

• Pro-activity: A proactive attitude and an ability to suggest, research and implement new ideas to achieve our organisational objectives. 

Desirable (Not Required) Experience:

• Hands-on experience with some or all of the following tools/software:

  • G-suite

  • Zoom

  • Canva or similar design software.

  • Mailchimp or similar email marketing software.

  • Website content management systems (CMS).

  • Bigin, Zoho or similar customer relationship management tools (CRMs).

  • Trello

• Knowledge of GDPR compliance.

• Knowledge of regulations around charity communications, including compliance with data protection laws and ethical storytelling.

COMPETENCIES

In general, Senior Officer level involves you demonstrating more leadership capabilities than in an entry-level position. This includes having ownership of a new area (press/PR), and demonstrating an ability to informally lead and have positive influence on the wider team. We will be looking for you to demonstrate that you can plan ahead, proactively anticipate upcoming projects or risks, and problem solve independently.

Job Purpose:

The Major Donor Officer is an integral part of the Philanthropy team, responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors, principally individuals, giving between £25k-£100k and ensuring their continued support of MSF. 

They are also responsible for seeking and securing new funding from prospective individual donors at the £25k-£100k level, typically via donor networks, and driving forward this new business objective within the team. At times, they will also be required to support the Philanthropy Manager and Head of Philanthropy with higher level relationships (£100k+). 

Their overall focus is on delivering new and increased income for MSF's work, and feeding into the Philanthropy team strategy around the retention and acquisition of individual major donors. 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Experience in major donor fundraising 
• Experience in relationship management, including with senior stakeholders 
• Experience in delivering against financial targets

About us

Join our team at the MPS Society, one of the leading rare genetic disease charities in the UK aiming to transform the lives of over 1500 individuals and their families UK-wide who are affected by MPS, Fabry and other related lysosomal diseases.

We are expanding our small, dedicated, Support team who raise awareness, provide information and practical guidance alongside support and advocacy relating to health and social care, housing, education, transition, independent living, palliative care, and bereavement.  This team also contribute to the development of our resources and facilitate project work such as youth engagement, advisory boards, and support groups.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham office each week. As part of the role, UK wide travel is necessary. which may on occasion include early morning and/or evening working and sometimes overnight stays.  You may also occasionally be required to attend evening or weekend conferences and events. We have policies in place to ensure that any unsociable hours worked are fairly compensated.

This is a full-time role (35 hrs per week) however part time hours may be considered for the right candidate.  Salary will be pro-rata for part-time.

Partnership Development - Team Purpose

Together with our Church partners, we deliver our life-changing services, firstly our core Debt Help service that is then supported by essential wrap-around resilience programs like Job Clubs, Life Skills, and Money Coaching. We are driven by a passion to see people not only find financial freedom, thriving in life, but also become followers of Jesus and find a true sense of belonging in a local church.

Our team

We're looking for a compassionate, self-starting individual who is tenacious, goal-oriented, and target-driven with a make it happen mentality, because they know the impact growing this movement will have on thousands of people's lives.

This role is part of the Partnership Development Team within the Mission & Movement Directorate. Reporting to the Head of Movement Development, you will be responsible for initiating and engaging with senior church leaders and wider networks to partner with CAP, primarily through our life-changing Debt Centre service.

As a Partnership Development Manager, you'll be a key driver of our mission. We're looking for a self-motivated, results-oriented, problem solving individual who can build and nurture relationships across diverse church networks and denominations.

You will be responsible for generating new partnership opportunities, inspiring church leaders and wider networks to engage with CAP's vision and partner with us. You'll need to be an entrepreneurial self-starter with a proven ability to build a robust pipeline and deliver on growth targets, specifically around Debt Centre growth motivated by our desire to help more people out of debt and poverty and see them become followers of Jesus.

Partnership Development Manager Scope

• The team is split between full time and part time PDMs. 
• Significant amount of travel with large regions to cover. 
• This role has no direct reports.
• In line with our expenses policy, all expenses (e.g. mileage costs) are claimed retrospectively via our CAP Expenses system. 

Role:

Accountabilities:

• Responsible for expanding CAP's partnership network across your region alongside the Regional Director and Head of Movement Development, strategically prioritizing and developing relationships with church leaders and networks to establish new partnerships and services. You'll achieve this by collaborating with other teams, proactively networking with Christian organizations and denominational leaders (where appropriate), and representing CAP at various events, all with the goal of growing our influence and opening new services in every community.
• Proactive management of contacts as they progress through the pipeline, working alongside churches to identify if a CAP service supports their church vision, and if appropriate, manage them through the church journey and experience to open a new CAP service.
• To open new Debt Centre Partnerships as laid out in regional Development plans in target areas of deprivation and communities across the region. 
• To open resilience services (Job Clubs, Life skills & Money Coaching) with new and existing church partnerships.
• Alongside Regional Director to identify key areas from across the region to host and organize a targeted number of CAP Spotlight Events per term. These events are designed to gather church leaders around a table to have conversations around opening a multi Church Debt Centre. 
• To proactively build, manage and progress a self generated caseload of churches within your region, through cold calling, face to face meetings and all other appropriate forms of communication. This will include frequent travel across the region to meet with appropriate churches/ leaders.
• Refer potential new Debt Coaches or Churches that might want to work with an existing or expanding Church Partnership to the relevant Area Partnership Managers who are responsible for existing centre growth and sustainability.
• To work with Regional Leaders and Area Partnership Managers to deepen local knowledge and connections in order to deliver new church partnership opportunities. 
• To collaborate across departments where needed to support and engage with Church Events, Talks, Conferences, Festivals, Church Leaders Meetings and other relevant events within your region, working on exhibition stands (when necessary) to help generate enquiries.
• To work with local church teams to ensure appropriate candidates are identified and have a full understanding of the role and responsibilities involved, ensuring CAP¿s selection team receive the appropriate information in a timely manner. 
• To advocate and make introductions where appropriate for Church talks, CCT and fundraising opportunities.
• Where appropriate, to represent Partnership Development in additional projects which improve the delivery and content of CAP's products and services.

Measurable Outputs:

Are you passionate about bringing people together to support a great cause? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Community Fundraiser to join our team and help grow support for our vital work across the community.

Working closely with our Community Fundraising Manager, you’ll play a key role in inspiring individuals, schools, groups, and volunteers to get involved and give back. You’ll be proactive, creative, and confident in building strong relationships that boost both income and community engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Engaging with local groups, schools and individuals - whether by phone, in person, or at events to increase income
• Coordinate and grow our collection pot network, ensuring regular collections 
• Support our amazing fundraising groups and individual supporters, generating publicity for their activities to enhance visibility and engagement. 
• Manage Just Giving and other online giving platforms for community events, and ensuring that donors and participants are thanked in a timely and appropriate manner
• Organise and support volunteers for events and campaigns as needed, making sure they feel valued and ready to help
• Respond to general telephone and in-person enquiries about donations and fundraising

About you

• Proven experience in community fundraising and volunteer management
• A strong understanding of relational fundraising and how to grow supporter networks
• Ability to manage and update budget/financial information to achieve income and expenditure targets
• Effective project management experience to take ideas from planning through to successful delivery
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
• Strong writing skills to create clear, timely reports and communications
• Confidence in networking and representing the organisation at all levels

Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury. Our job is to support survivors and their families from the moment brain injury strikes – and to do that, we need your help and expertise!

We’re seeking a determined, values-driven Director of Fundraising to drive income generation across several different disciplines, helping to ensure we can continue delivering vital support to people affected by brain injury.

This role isn’t just about setting strategy; it’s about being actively involved in in a hands-on capacity as you build relationships and lead fundraising efforts across community, individual giving, corporate partnerships, events, legacies and trusts fundraising.

You will also oversee and support the Head of Retail, ensuring that income from our charity shops contributes effectively to the organisation’s overall financial sustainability and growth.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will also have the opportunity to shape Headway’s future and contribute to key decisions across the charity, including working with trustees and contributing to board meetings.

Key areas of accountability

• Develop, maintain, and evolve a multi‑year fundraising strategy (3‑5 years) aligned with Headway’s strategy, priorities, and risk appetite.
• Lead the development and delivery of income generation plans across all fundraising channels (retail, individual giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, events, legacies, and community fundraising), translating organisational objectives into clear annual targets, growth strategies, and actionable fundraising plans.
• Personally lead on key fundraising initiatives, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships while overseeing a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities.
• Use data-driven insights to evaluate performance, inform strategy, and identify opportunities for growth.
• Manage and inspire a fundraising team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional development.
• Oversee the Head of Retail and ensure the effective operation and strategic development of Headway’s charity shops.
• Monitor fundraising performance and report on progress to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees.
• Play an active role within the Senior Leadership Team, contributing insight and expertise on income generation, fundraising performance, risk, scenario planning, and resource allocation, while working closely with colleagues to support decision-making and drive organisational priorities.
• Act as a key ambassador for the organisation, representing its mission and values to external stakeholders, partners, and donors.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser who has performed at a director level or equivalent, ideally at a charity with a UK-wide reach.

You will be able to nurture and develop the fundraising team, building a strong culture in line with the organisation’s values, and motivating others to achieve shared goals by using your working knowledge of various fundraising disciplines.

You will be a skilled communicator, able to build relationships with and instil confidence in internal and external stakeholders including donors, supporters, and colleagues.

You will be confident and proficient in using CRM systems and fundraising platforms to manage supporter data, analyse performance and support donor engagement with data-informed decision making.

And you will be able to combine a strategic and analytic mindset with proactive, hands-on fundraising.

Benefits

• You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension. This is based on your contribution of 5% and with Headway UK contributing 3%. For every 1% you increase above this, Headway UK will increase its contributions by 1% up to a total maximum of 6%.

We are a small but growing team of lawyers, communications experts, and campaigners. Our work is global, and we work in partnership with lawyers, civil society, unions, and people impacted by Big Tech.

The role

As Head of Operations, you will lead all operational functions of Foxglove. You will ensure that our finance, HR, legal compliance, fundraising, systems and internal processes enable the organisation to carry out its mission effectively. You’ll work across Foxglove and closely with leadership, as well as with external partners to build a resilient and well-governed organisation, able to manage growth and complexity while staying mission driven. This role manages one member of staff and multiple consultants. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Management & Accounting

1.Oversee financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, expenditure controls, financial reporting, payroll.

2.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements and donor / funder financial reporting obligations.

3.Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, banks, and financial service providers.

4.Ensure appropriate and best practice financial policies and controls are in place. 

5.Ensure financial risk is identified and managed appropriately.

Fundraising & Development

1.Contribute to the organisation’s fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Co-Executive Directors and Head of Strategy.

2.Ensure systems are in place to track and manage grants, philanthropic donations, and other income streams.

3.Support the preparation of funding proposals and reports and ensure accurate and timely reporting to funders.

4.Support relationship management with key donors, foundations and partners.

Operational Systems & Processes

1.Develop and maintain efficient operational processes and systems (e.g. finance, HR, IT, data protection, office management).

2.Ensure proper policies and procedures are in place for procurement, vendor management, travel & expenses, and record-keeping.

3.Oversee the infrastructure that supports remote / hybrid working, ensuring tools and systems support collaboration, security, and productivity.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

1.Lead on organisational compliance: legal, regulatory, health & safety, data protection / GDPR, employment law.

2.Ensure the organisation’s policies and procedures are best practice, legally compliant and up to date.

3.Establish and monitor risk management frameworks and our risk register.

4.Support governance structures (internal reporting, director meetings etc.), ensuring decisions are well informed and documented.

Human Resources & People Operations

1.Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development.

Person specification

Below are the essential and desirable criteria for a successful candidate.

Essential

·Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with proven experience in financial oversight and reporting 

·Minimum of 5-7 years of senior operations / finance / business operations experience, including line management 

·Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting, audit & financial compliance 

·Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, able to bridge between high-level strategy and operational detail 

·Strong risk-management and governance experience; familiarity with compliance, data protection / GDPR, employment law etc. 

·Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities; excellent time-management skills 

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex operational, financial or legal information clearly 

·Strong collaboration skills; ability to work across teams; good leadership and people management skills

Desirable

·Experience of operating in non-profit / mission-driven / legal organisations

The Operations Officer plays a vital role in keeping STOP THE TRAFFIK’s day-to-day operations running efficiently. Working closely with the Finance & HR Manager and Executive Team, this role supports organisational systems, finance processes, and internal communications — helping our global anti-trafficking work stay coordinated, compliant, and effective.

This position suits a highly organised, proactive individual who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and supporting others to perform at their best. You’ll be at the heart of the organisation — connecting teams, managing key administrative systems, and ensuring smooth operations across all areas.

This role will be responsible for:

Team & Office Environment

· Monitor STOP THE TRAFFIK’s phone and general ‘info’ inbox, directing messages to the appropriate team members.

· Support the upkeep of the office environment, ensuring facilities are well maintained and team members take shared ownership of the space.

· Coordinate team days and team-building activities, in collaboration with the Team Building Champion.

· Lead onboarding for new staff alongside line managers to ensure a smooth induction experience.

Executive Support Functions

· Provide administrative support to members of the Executive Team.

· Take minutes and capture action points in Senior Leadership Team meetings.

· Prepare briefing notes for key meetings with the Senior Leadership Team.

Finance

· Support the Finance & HR Manager by reconciling transactions on Xero, producing invoices, processing payments, and assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting.

Operations

· Develop and maintain effective internal systems that improve organisational efficiency and automation.

· Maintain key organisational records (e.g. contracts, insurance, supplier information) and handle confidential information appropriately.
