Terms and Conditions 

• Type of contract: Permanent contract 

• Location: ENN’s office in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. ENN operates a hybrid model with most of our Operations Team working Mondays and Fridays from home and Tues/Weds/Thurs in the office. 

ENN will consider requests for further flexible working arrangements. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis, balancing ENN’s needs with the successful candidate’s other commitments. 

• Holidays: 25 days plus UK Public Holidays, increasing by one day per annum after two complete years of service to a maximum of 27 days per annum. ENN also provides additional paid office closure days between Christmas and New Year. Pro-rata for part-time staff. 

• Pension: Auto-Enrolment to ENN scheme with a generous Employer contribution of 5% 

• Salary: circa £45,000 per annum, full-time equivalent, dependent on experience

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Purpose of the Role 

The HR Manager plays a key leadership role, working on, and closely with, the management team to ensure effective HR support across the organisation. This role combines strategic HR advice with hands-on operational delivery, helping to shape a positive working culture and ensure compliance with employment law and best practice. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic HR Support 

• Advise the management team on HR strategy, policies and people matters 

• Help shape and promote a positive organisational culture and embed the organisation’s values 

• Identify and implement improvements to policies, structures, and staff processes 

• Produce quarterly HR reports and plan for the Board and Governance & People sub-committee meetings 

Compliance & Policy 

• Ensure HR policies and practices comply with UK and international employment law, as well as donor requirements 

• Keep policies up to date in collaboration with external HR support 

• Develop, monitor and maintain HR metrics and Management Information, preparing and presenting quarterly reports to Senior Management and Trustees. 

• Oversee mandatory training completion and procurement of training providers (e.g. safeguarding, data protection) 

• Act as the organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Officer and Data Protection Officer (training can be provided) 

People Practices & Support 

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for staff and consultants 

• Provide guidance to line managers on employee relations matters, performance management, and staff training and development 

• Oversee monthly payroll and pension processes

• Keep the organisation’s reward policy under review to help ensure fair and competitive compensation packages 

• Oversee that accurate and confidential HR records are maintained 

• Lead on staff engagement activities, surveys, and follow-up actions 

Learning & Development 

• Oversee professional development across the team through internal and external training 

• Work with managers to identify development needs and embed learning into performance appraisals 

Line Management & Coordination 

• Line manage the HR Advisor and Office Manager 

• Work with third-party providers such as benefit providers and Employers of Record for overseas staff to sustain cost-effective solutions whilst meeting compliance requirements 

Other Responsibilities 

• Due to relatively small size of organisation some critical roles/functions are shared between Management Team members. The HRM is the designated Safeguarding Officer and Data Protection Officer for which training can be given if required. The Management Team members rotate some other responsibilities

• Carry out other HR-related tasks as required by the management team 

Person Specification 

Essential 

• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience 

• Strong HR generalist knowledge and understanding of UK employment law 

• Experience advising senior leaders and managing employee relations issues 

• Proven experience of change management and nurturing a positive culture 

• Line management experience and ability to support a small, diverse team 

• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills 

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively 

• Commitment to the values and mission of the charity 

Desirable 

• HR experience in the charity or non-profit sector

Eligibility to work

This is a unique opportunity to lead the Lab’s operational heart; from finance and governance to people, culture, IT and compliance. This post is to manage and co-ordinate the smooth running of the finance department ensuring all processes and procedures are streamlined, efficient and produced in a timely manner. This will involve the management of daily financial matters and overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts for both the hospice and its commercial companies. The Diocese of Rochester is committed to equipping its churches and leaders for growth and transformation. As part of this, we are seeking a Missional Development Parishes (MDP) Project Manager to join our Programme Team based at the Diocesan Office in Rochester.

The MDP Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of 15 strategically funded parish projects supported by the National Church. Working with the Head of Programmes, Diocesan colleagues, and parish representatives, the Project Manager will oversee planning, budgeting, governance, and reporting processes across the MDP project. You will have a good understanding of managing budgets and able to produce accurate monitoring/evaluation reports. Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As a team player, you will demonstrate a willingness to participate in the day-to-day activities of the team, have excellent staff management and development skills along with the confidence to motivate and inspire.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

1. About Chance to Shine

We are Chance to Shine: a children’s charity dedicated to harnessing the power of cricket to transform the life prospects of young people in the UK.

It is our mission that all young people have the opportunity to play, learn and develop through cricket. We want them to learn a love of the game and to find a sense of belonging through the sport, developing their wider wellbeing and life skills to help fulfil their potential.

Established in 2005, we have a long-term track record of delivery in state schools and under-served communities, bringing best-in-class cricket programmes to young people aged 5 to 24 who might not otherwise have the opportunity to play. All our programmes are completely free for everyone involved, from schools and community groups to young people and their families.

2. Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a full time (37.5hrs per week) Executive and Office Assistant to support the Finance and Resources team at Chance to Shine. The Finance and Resources team provide day to day support to all departments in the charity and trading subsidiary, Chance to Shine Enterprises Ltd, around finance, office, governance, HR and general administration. The role is expected to be largely in person in our central London office.

3. Key Responsibilities

The Executive and Office Assistant’s responsibilities are in three areas:

Office Administration:

· Act as ‘front of house’ for visitors and guests and be first point of contact for telephone enquiries and ensure the office space is fully operational.

· Monitor the charity inbox and respond to general enquiries.

· Oversee and monitor the Office and Administration budget.

· Liaise with the office landlord, regarding the general office space, car-parking, meeting rooms and staff access. 

· Help manage offsite storage space.

· Administer IT support processes, first point of contact for IT support issues and managing IT supplier contracts; and administering staff IT requirements.

· Maintain up to date shared document area on sharepoint.

· Act as Health and Safety Officer responsible for all Health and Safety matters, and attend training as necessary.

Executive Support

· Support the CEO and Senior Management Team (SMT) on organising and following up internal meetings, Board meetings and company wide initiatives.

· Provide governance support to the CEO, Director of Finance and Resources and Trustees.

· Take the minutes/key actions of Board and Committee meetings.

· Support on the onboarding and induction of new Trustees.

· Maintain Trustees’ register of interest.

· Deliver ad hoc administrative support for the CEO and Finance & Resources Department.

· Ad hoc support at Chance to Shine events, such as fundraisers, media events and competitions.

HR Support

· Administrative support to the HR Manager for HR processes, including drafting letters, maintaining employee records and recruitment processes.

· Support the induction of new employees to CTS.

· Support the HR Manager with administering staff benefits, organisational training and annual appraisal process.

We are seeking a faith filled, people focussed senior leader offering operational management for Christ our Hope Liverpool which includes

· Oversight of our Support Services Hub, small staff team and their spheres of work

· Strategic and efficient management of the operational, administrative, financial, HR, safeguarding and property functions of the parish.

Interim Head of Finance & Operations

Career Ready is a social mobility charity that believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to enjoy a rewarding future.

We were founded in 2002 by leading business figures with a mission: to boost social mobility by empowering young people and giving their talents a platform from which to flourish. Since then, we’ve grown in England and Scotland to support young people in areas of need.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, qualified Finance professional to lead our Finance & Operations function.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the Interim Head of Finance & Operations leads on and assumes day to day responsibility for providing high quality, strategic financial management for Career Ready.

You will lead on business operations to ensure the ongoing effective functioning of the charity and drive sustainable growth.

The Interim Head of Finance and Operations plays a key role in leading greater organisational efficiency and simplifying processes and will continue the delivery of a project plan reflecting the 2025-30 strategy.

You will play a critical role in driving the increased quality of Career Ready’s offer to our stakeholders in line with our strategy, vision and values.

Member of our SMT, comprising of the CEO, Director for Scotland, Director of Programme and Partnerships and Heads of functions.

This is an interim role to cover a period of maternity leave.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities

· Lead, direct and manage the finance and operations functions, overseeing two direct reports, ensuring they deliver a high-quality service to all internal and external stakeholders and are seen as adding value, in enabling Career Ready to achieve its vision and strategic objectives through its people. 

· Continue the delivery of a project plan reflecting the 2025-30 strategy, ensuring that activities happen at pace, are deadline-driven and achieve a high level of impact.

· Assume overall responsibility for the financial management of Career Ready, working with the SMT to ensure high quality and effective use of charitable funds.

· Input into and review the financial elements of funding applications and ensure that fund accounting processes align with funders’ requirements for project reporting.

· Produce financial reports for various stakeholders, as well as leading on financial modelling.

· Have oversight of all financial and accountancy matters including month end reports, management accounts, cash flow management, compliance, tax liability, presentation of management information and KPIs. Ensure that the CEO and Trustees are provided with accurate, timely information and analysis. 

· Oversee and coordinate the fully managed payroll services with the external bureau for all Career Ready employees and for some internship students (Jun to Aug during the Summer)

· Administration of the Staff Opt-In Pension Scheme, including onboarding new staff (Royal London)

· Act as a role model in our ‘one team’ culture. Lead in the development of efficient working practices across the charity, creating momentum and supporting motivation within the charity. 

· Lead risk management strategies and internal control procedures to minimise the risk of loss, or damage to, Career Ready’s assets. 

· Prepare and submit annual operational budgets and annual accounts to the CEO for review and approval.

· Draft and deliver papers for Trustees and Finance and Fundraising Committee (F&FC) meetings. 

· Attend Board and F&FC meetings to present papers and answer questions related to areas of expertise. 

· Provide day to day line management of the Senior Finance Officers and support their ongoing growth and development.

· Management of organisational governance and compliance activities, including policy management.

· Oversee and manage the organisation’s risk management register and process, with input from SMT.

· Oversee reviews and renewals of all insurance policies that affect the organisation.

· Lead on the compliance of statutory and charity regulatory reporting, giving guidance to colleagues where required.

· Ensure any changes to processes and procedures across the function are clearly documented.

Person Specification

Essential skills and experience

•  Belief and commitment to Career Ready’s mission and values
• Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT) accountant with at least 5 years’ experience in financial management including budgeting, preferably in the charity sector.
• Significant experience in producing management and financial accounts
• Skilled in financial reporting and producing VAT returns
• Preparing for and ensuring a successful year-end audit, and demonstrable knowledge of UK Charities SORP and other reporting standards

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £52,000 to £54,000 FTE (salary will be pro-rata for part time hours)

28-35 hours per week.  Career Ready is committed to supporting condensed/flexible working patterns.

Regional Youth and Community Director
OASIS UK – Youth and Community (OCP)

Permanent, full-time post, 40 hours per week, inclusive of breaks 

Salary: £51,959 per annum (£54,669 p.a. London Weighting for London based staff)

At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for Youth and Community Directors to join our team supporting Oasis’ youth and community work in neighbourhoods in the following regions;

- London and South East (North, Central and South London and Kent - five local Oasis charities)

- North West (Greater Manchester – two local charities, and two regionwide youth violence contracts)

- North East (NE Lincs, Humber, Bradford and Sheffield – four local charities)

With accountability to the Oasis CEO for Youth and Community the role of the regional Youth and Community Director will have three main functions:

1 Strategic management oversight of local Youth and Community teams

2 Regional development, working alongside other functions within the Oasis family

3 Being part of the national Youth and Community leadership team

The Youth and Community Director will have strategic management oversight of local Youth and Community teams in the region, providing accountability and support to the local leaders and charity boards. This responsibility area falls into two categories; those the Director is directly responsible for, and those they are responsible for ensuring are carried out by those within their region.
