VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time (14-21 hours per week). Additional hours may sometime be required, particularly for Trustee meetings, and can be taken as Time Off In Lieu.

The charity’s inaugural Volunteer Coordinator will lead on the charity’s existing and emerging volunteer activity, including recruitment, onboarding and management of volunteer groups. Volunteers will be key in the achievement of local impact, and the coordination of these vital roles will be equally as important.

The postholder will support managers in the creation and implementation of volunteering opportunities and ensure that the charity’s policies and procedures create a safe, supportive and effective environment in which volunteers can thrive.

We have an amazing opportunity to play a key role in shaping exceptional supporter experiences through the design and delivery of a bespoke portfolio of engagement events. No two days in the role will be the same as you will be working on a fun, fast-paced and varied programme of events – from virtual tours of our research labs to thought-provoking lectures and inspiring talks, and everything in between.

Working closely with our High Value fundraisers, you will ensure that events meet their engagement targets, while making current and future supporters feel valued, informed and inspired by their impact.

The role will be primarily responsible for supporting the delivery of virtual and face to face events for our Legacy supporters, as well as designing and delivering new Legacy events. You will also support the day to day running of our wider High Value events for major donors and senior representatives from corporates, trusts and foundations.

We are looking for an individual who is proactive, creative and highly organised. You will be comfortable working calmly to tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

You will have a real passion for events and be curious about external trends, including virtual and hybrid events. A confident and collaborative communicator, you will have strong internal relationship building skills, and be comfortable leading small project teams to shape individual event ideas, including leading ideation and innovation sessions.
 
Above all, you will be driven by a desire to provide excellent supporter experiences, and use this drive to keep elevating your events based on feedback and evidence.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE SLT

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time (21-28 hours per week). Additional hours may sometime be required, particularly for Trustee meetings, and can be taken as Time Off In Lieu.

The Executive Assistant (EA) to the SLT will facilitate all the charity’s governance requirements. Activities will primarily focus on Trustee meetings, Committees and Management team meetings, but will include policy administration and all other aspects of corporate governance and company secretariat. The post will also form part of newly-formed HR function within the charity.

The EA to the SLT will be a key role in giving the charity the capacity and expertise it needs to grow in a well-governed and responsible yet ambitious way.

In this role you will provide administrative support to the Volunteering and Community Networks Department and Head of Volunteering and Community Networks.

You’ll be proactive and highly motivated. Attention to detail is essential as is the ability to plan and manage a busy and varied workload to provide support on various tasks.

You will contribute to the smooth running of the department through managing diaries, booking meetings and being responsible for departmental invoice processing.

As a part of the Volunteer Support Admin Team you will provide high quality support to our Community Networks volunteers based across the UK.

You will ensure that all volunteer enquiries are resolved promptly, that information provided to volunteers is aligned to our organisational positions and standards that relevant information is recorded and appropriate follow-up actions are completed.

Your insight will help inform our wider Community Networks team on volunteer priorities and issues.

About the role

We require someone who is able to provide a range of business support functions to the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns Department (PPC), specifically the reporting and monitoring of grants-funded projects delivered within PPC and the administration of grants out to partners including use of our international programme management system.

The post holder will champion ways of working across the department that align with Christian Aid's strategy and systems and work closely with the Data Strategy and Transformation Lead and relevant teams to drive operational excellence and innovation that leads to smooth and effective business processes. This will include the coordination of a new PPC quarterly dashboard to track progress, improve decision making and assess impact.

The post holder may also be asked to coordinate and administrate discrete projects within the department as required such as refreshing the departmental intranet on SharePoint or work collaboratively with colleagues under the direction of a project manager within project teams. You will also be required to act as short-term cover for the Director's Executive Assistant during periods of absence and provide administrative advice for PPC staff.

About you

To thrive in this role, you will need to be comfortable with data and applying logical thinking to gathering and analysing information including the financial data required for monitoring and budgeting. You will have the ability to switch seamlessly between core tasks and project activities. You will bring your experience in creating and using spreadsheets for financial and information management, including use of web / intranet-based systems, databases, and good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. You will have a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification and motivation to work in the charity sector and international development.

ALDER HEY CHILDRENS CHARITY

Job title: Philanthropy Fundraiser

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children’s Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 450,000 patients and families we care for every year.

About this role:

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Philanthropy Fundraiser to join the Charity team here at Alder Hey, the UK’s busiest Children’s Hospital.

We’re looking for someone who loves building relationships and is passionate about high value fundraising. You will have relevant charity fundraising experience with exceptional writing skills to create compelling applications and proposals for funding. You’ll also be self-motivated, proactive and an excellent collaborator. If you’re excited by the sound of this, we’d love to hear from you!

In this role you will have a mixed portfolio of high value trusts, grantmakers and major donors, to support the implementation of the Philanthropy strategy to reach new audiences and increase sustainable income growth.  You will contribute to our capital fundraising campaigns and the development of ‘wow’/special? projects under our fundraising pillars: Magic, Equipment, Campus and Community, Research, Innovation and Education, and Advocacy.

You will also manage a wide variety of internal stakeholder relationships with senior colleagues in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.  

Key Responsibilities will include:

· Manage a diverse portfolio of existing and new major donors and funders, delivering excellence in relationship management to meet an individual fundraising target.

· Build, manage and maintain a full and consistent pipeline of prospects, ensuring timely progression through each stage from identification to stewardship.

· Frequent and regular contact with donors and funders by phone, video and in person.

· Identification, qualification and research of philanthropy prospects, both new and from other income streams.

· Work with colleagues and clinicians in the development of engaging and bespoke proposals.

· Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.

· Be a charity specialist in relationship management and maintain strong knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice.

· Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of trends and developments in the sector, through completing relevant training, reviewing relevant press and publications and keeping up to date with industry news.

· Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Charity’s work, priorities and future plans, and represent the Charity at functions and events, to promote the objectives of the Charity.

· Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.

· Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

The charity is currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four-day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four-day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30th September 2024 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time (25 hours per week), ideally 8:00am – 1:00pm every weekday. Additional hours may sometime be required and can be taken as Time Off In Lieu.

The Centre Administrator role at the Vassall Centre in our Oldbury Court Hub is a pivotal role in the provision of warm welcome and effective administration for our tenants, customers and community users. The postholder will be the face of the charity at the site and will lead on the provision of a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all users of the Vassall Centre site.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

The charity’s inaugural Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, comms and PR of our Community Hubs, with a focus on our Oldbury Court Hub. The role will drive enhancements to the charity’s engagement and impact which will secure further support and resources for its critical work.

The postholder will work with colleagues in delivering regular communications output, events and campaigns, and in building and managing networks of local stakeholders and partners.

School Improvement Officer (Curriculum)

35 hours per week
Salary £55,000.00 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for an educational professional to join our team to support the schools and colleges of the Archdiocese in its wider educational mission. You will be based within the Education Team at the St. Margaret Clitherow Centre with the post involving travel and direct work with our schools, colleges and academies.

As a department we are focused on improving the standards of education, thereby ensuring that all students have access to a high quality Catholic education.

The successful applicant will assist the Lead Officer in the development of a strategic vision for school improvement in collaboration with our schools and colleges. We are seeking an experienced professional who is passionate about school improvement and understands the benefits of networking and working collaboratively.
