Are you a relationship-builder with a passion for making a difference? We’re looking for a Philanthropy Manager to lead our high-net-worth giving strategy, with a special focus on Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). In this role, you’ll build meaningful connections with Wealth Advisors and DAF Managers whose clients have the potential to give £100k or more—all in support of our mission to end animal cruelty.
You’ll work closely with our Senior Manager of Major Gifts and Senior Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Operations to launch and grow our DAF strategy in the UK. Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ongoing strategies for Humane World for Animals’ growth in private philanthropy amongst wealth advisors, individuals and DAF managers in the UK, ensuring a strong ROI and including setting appropriate KPIs to monitor progress and measure success.
- Align the UK DAF strategy with the broader high net worth engagement strategy , collaborating with colleagues to maximise impact.
- Build Humane World for Animals’ UK DAF portfolio: identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships and partnerships with wealth advisors and DAF managers.
- Conduct outreach to wealth advisors outside the Humane World for Animals network who may not yet be familiar with our work and raising our profile with this specific audience, including via networking and events opportunities.
- Formulate and implement individual strategies for developing key DAF partnerships and initiatives around programmatic priorities, mobilising necessary internal and external resources to ensure all partnerships are effectively executed and partners’ needs are fully met. Includes proposal development work.
- Act as an internal expert on the DAF landscape within the UK, bringing this to bear when developing proposals and ideas with programmatic staff.
- Contribute to internal collaboration on breakthrough solutions that can deliver social impact at scale for complex philanthropic relationships which span a variety of mechanisms of giving.
- Partner across revenue streams (including corporate partnerships, foundations, and major gifts) to maximise and leverage fundraising opportunities.
- Lead on our high net worth income from individuals; identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships.
- Develop working relationships with program staff in order to identify funding opportunities and access program information that can be used to cultivate and steward wealth advisors.
- Stay abreast of key issues and trends in the international aid and wealth advisor community.
- Use our CRM (ROI Solutions) to track all DAF activity and revenue and activity projection in line with our data protection and privacy policies.
- Effectively represent Humane World for Animals to external audiences for both fundraising and profile elevation.
- Identify opportunities to represent Humane World for Animals on panels and events of interest to wealth advisors, including strategising around Humane World for Animals specific-events to engage wealth advisors.
- Strategic engagement with senior stakeholders to support donor engagement.

About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Fundraising & Events to lead the development and growth of a high-performing department focused on generating income through national and international challenge events and corporate partnerships.

Purpose of the post
The Engagement and Involvement Lead will engage with young people, families, schools and other interest-holders in the process of designing, delivering and ensuring the best outputs from the Adolescent Health Study, and is critical for the success of the project. We are at the early stages of laying the foundations for this and in this new role we are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to co-ordinate and lead AHS’s cross-UK participant and public involvement and engagement activities.
This is a role that requires high levels of confidence, autonomy, enthusiasm and skill. The postholder will be responsible for delivering the project’s new Engagement and Involvement Strategy, including: establishing and coordinating a Young Persons’ Advisory Group for AHS; developing and delivering AHS public engagement and involvement activities; outsourcing and supervising engagement and involvement activities that are better provided by external partners; scoping and advising on which routes for involvement and engagement activities are best suited to different tasks.

The role
Sustrans is the UK’s leading active travel organisation, working to make it possible for people across society to walk, wheel and cycle. We have a new strategy for the next five years, a key strand of which is to unlock active travel in new housing developments, and we are recruiting a Head of New Developments to lead this work.
This is a new position in which you will draw on your experience in the housing delivery sector to grow Sustrans’ contribution to the creation of new communities that have active mobility at their heart. As well as leading our influencing work aimed at organisations in housing delivery, you will develop and promote an offer to partners, drawing on Sustrans’ existing infrastructure, behaviour change and advisory services. You will connect with, inform and inspire professionals and decision makers involved in delivering new homes to adopt the actions required to increase active travel in their developments. About you
You’ll have significant experience contributing to the delivery of new developments through work for or with organisations such as developers, housing providers, consultancies, local authorities or government. We’re looking for applicants with a professional network in housing delivery, and significant experience securing new commissions from and/or influencing organisations involved in delivering new developments. You’ll have a strong understanding of the development process, including the spatial planning system, and of the roles of the parties involved in delivering new developments, the power dynamics between them, and the opportunities and appetite each has for taking action to increase active travel. Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal works in partnership with Aardman to support Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We are seeking a talented individual to join our ambitious team to provide a welcoming environment for all visitors, ensuring excellent customer service as our front-of-house reception.
This is an exceptionally varied role, requiring a multi-skilled individual with good attention to detail and excellent customer service skills in face-to-face, telephone and email interactions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks including, front-of-house duties and the operation of our office-based shop.
You will also play an important role in helping the Operations and Services Team to deliver a wide range of support to the children’s hospital and NICU.
In addition, you will help to arrange the maintenance of our premises and provide support to the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the charity. You will also regularly interact with families, patients, donors and supporters of The Grand Appeal, as well as the public.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the principles, values, and objectives of The Grand Appeal and provide excellent and flexible support to the Operations and Services Team. As well as bringing enthusiasm and positivity to all elements of the role, using initiative and self-motivation to drive success.
