WaterAid is exclusively partnering with Robertson Bell in their search for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis, in this newly revamped role. This role will be a key strategic advisor and responsible for high-level planning conversations to WaterAid UKs largest income generating Directorate: Communications and Fundraising. As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for helping shape the strategic direction of fundraising team. This is a high-profile role, enabling Water Aid UK’s senior leadership to deliver and support the delivery of WaterAid’s ambitious programmatic activity.

The key duties of the Senior Finance Business Partner are as follows:

• Owning relationships with key senior stakeholders within the Communications and Fundraising Directorate.
• Regularly engaging on strategic long-term decision making and providing relevant financial data to key decision makers.
• Work with the directorate to build realistic and detailed financial plans.
• Own directorate specific timelines for delivering financial forecasts and budgets.
• Work with Head of Management Accounting to build a consolidated picture for WaterAid UKs performance for the Executive Director Team.
• Collaborate on the building and maintenance of automated reporting for directorate on PowerBI.
• Regularly engage with budget holders to ensure that spending and income is on track against plans.
• Ensure CRM data is complete and accurately reflected in the month end close position.
• Oversee the monthly recording of both unrestricted and restricted income streams.

The successful candidate will have:

• Completed a professional accounting qualification or be part-qualified with relevant professional experience.
• Experience of strategic partnering senior stakeholders (ideally at Executive Director level) along with senior leadership teams.
• Ability to analyse large quantities of data with a view to identifying trends and key drivers.
• Adaptability to build effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues and work in a collaborative way.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience of managing finances within a fundraising directorate (Desirable).
• Knowledge of international development issues and the sector (Desirable).

About you

You will be a qualified accountant with proven track record of financial management awareness and a solid understanding of charity audits and statutory accounts preparation. You will have good ability to meet deadlines, be IT literate with an emphasis on financial systems, spreadsheets, Quickbooks and Excel. You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and be able to work with minimum supervision.

About the role

The role will involve the management of the day-to-day financial activities, VAT, gift aid, payroll and the monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation. The job holder will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Officer and volunteers within the team. There will be a requirement to work closely with the income generating staff, budget holders, auditors, banks and credit card providers on a regular basis. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance Officer and Finance volunteer.

Rainbow Migration is the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system and has been campaigning for their rights since 1993. The Senior Casework and Service Coordinator is a new role that will take on some of the responsibilities of the Support Services Manager, freeing the manager up to work on service development and strategic matters.

Role overview

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week). Working part-time (minimum 28 hours) will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £36,994 with potential annual step increases up to £41,315 (pro rata if working part time), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, we consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April.

Location: Rainbow Migration’s wheelchair accessible offices are based between Vauxhall and the Oval, London. This role will have an office-based contract but the postholder can choose to work from home for part of the week in agreement with their line manager as per our hybrid working policy. You must be available to work from our offices in London when necessary. The successful candidate would also be welcome to work from the office full-time if that is their preference. What the job involves

This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in driving impactful external communication strategies that support High Value, Philanthropy and Partnerships teams. As a key player in the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll enable the integration of high value fundraising activities into wider organisational communications, inspiring action to fund life-saving initiatives that help men navigate prostate cancer.

Supporting the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand and our senior Business Partner in embedding and developing our business partnering model. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of High Value Fundraising activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.

You’ll work closely with our Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships and Appeal teams to help plan and deliver inspiring communications that support our fundraising strategy. From pitching proposals and event promotion to major appeal campaigns, you’ll help build strong relationships with major donors and partners. You’ll also make sure high value fundraising activity is joined up with our wider communications and campaigns to grow fundraising revenue, support our community and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer.

As Senior Social Media Officer, you will promote greater public awareness and understanding of the British Red Cross using our social media channels – everything from Facebook to TikTok.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Marketing, Fundraising and Communications directorate to ensure integrated communications. You’ll work alongside colleagues across the communications, content and digital teams.

You’ll support the social media manager to plan and implement our social media strategy, innovate and make the British Red Cross an exemplar of social media storytelling.

What you’ll bring to the role…

• Expertise and know-how: you have an excellent understanding of social media, can use social media management and creative editing tools.
• Digital experience: you have significant experience of working in a digital environment in a social media, editorial, public relations, marketing or similar context.
• You have demonstrable examples of successful pieces of work and campaigns delivered, ideally in an NGO or aid agency context.
• Project Management - Lead on projects as the main social media representative. Managing multiple campaigns at once and coordinating work with other departments, regional and international colleagues. 
• Prioritisation: ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-changing environment, being reactive to news and emerging crises. 
• Tact and diplomacy: you can handle sensitive and confidential information and can use sound judgement about sensitive issues (often involving vulnerable people). 
• Network management: you must have experience of building and managing online communities, reputation management and extensive professional use of networking or content sharing sites.

Role Overview: In this new role as Fundraising Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of our fundraising strategy and manage our fundraising portfolio. This includes being responsible for securing the financial resources needed to bring positive, impactful change to every young person we work with. You will manage and grow our portfolio of grant funders, retain and deepen key relationships, and shape the next phase of our fundraising strategy.
 
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead Streets of Growth's 5-year Fundraising Strategy, this will include building a new programme for developing corporate partnerships
• Grow multi-year restricted and flexible income from existing and new donors
• In collaboration with the CEO, to set fundraising targets and forecast fundraising income
• Research and develop opportunities to diversify income streams, identify new supporters, manage the creation and submission of bids
• Develop and grow strong relationships with key funders and stakeholders
• Responsible for reporting on funding bids both internally and externally and managing the timeline of submission of bids and applications
• Represent Streets of Growth at external events, funder briefings or networking opportunities
• As a member of the Leadership Team, contribute to the strategic planning processes for the charity
 
Person Specification: The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Experience of leading or significantly contributing to development and/or delivery of a fundraising strategy
• Strong track record of fundraising, grant management and achieving funding awards for £50,000 and above
• Strong understanding of charity fundraising regulations, GDPR, and ethical fundraising practices
• Excellent writing skills with ability to produce clear, concise and engaging applications and funding reports
