The Opportunity
We’re seeking an energetic, commercially savvy Interim Commercial Director to join us for approximately nine months. You’ll provide strategic leadership to our Commercial Team, manage our thriving e-commerce operation (equivalent to a £30m etail business) and cultivate and deepen long-term partnerships with our FMCG and retail supporters, both new and those who have worked with us for many years. This is a unique chance to shape mutually beneficial relationships that fuel social impact across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Lead, coach and motivate the Commercial Partnerships team to deliver outstanding results, including achieving 2025 targets and deliverables
- As a key member of IKD’s senior Leadership Team, contribute to the operational and strategic direction of the organisation, and attend regular meetings of IKD’s Board of Trustees
- Provide dynamic day-to-day leadership presence, role-modelling IKD’s values and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and results-focus
Strategic Commercial Relations
- Accountable for IKD’s relationships with its major commercial partners, ensuring successful collaboration and delivery of mutually-agreed targets and plans.
- Work with the Heads of New Business and Partnerships to develop and implement Commercial Team plans, enabling the delivery of all commercial targets and success criteria
- Maintain a close watch on the needs of our charitable network, and identify a pipeline of current and new donated products in response
- Lead the Head of Partnerships and Head of New Business in building account plans for current and future product donors. Develop and drive trading strategy, including delivery of partnerships with affiliate schemes
- Ensure excellent customer service to maximise the potential for product donations, including the development of bespoke proposals, high-quality impact/progress reports and any other engagement collateral required
- Attend networking and other events relevant to IKD, building relationships with influencers and those able to support IKD
E-Commerce
- Accountable for delivering revenue targets through IKD’s e-commerce platform
- Work with the Operations Director and E-Commerce & Digital Marketing Manager to oversee the customer journey, aiming to increase conversion, retention and renewal
- Support the E-Commerce Manager to develop and deliver the workplan for all corporate sites
- Work with leadership team to deliver data-led analysis of our performance, both on commercial performance as well as marketing and business development
Marketing
- Support and guide the Marketing team, to ensure successful delivery of IKD’s calendar of high-impact marketing and advertising campaigns, including social media
- Oversee the internal and external use of branding guidelines – ensuring consistency in the look and feel of all collateral materials, events and campaigns – protecting IKD’s corporate identity and positioning
- Monitor the effectiveness of all marketing initiatives and activities, providing ROI and engagement measurements
- Lead the marketing team in developing ambitious plans to celebrate IKD’s 30th anniversary in 2026
Skills/experience you will bring:
- Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level, being able to see the bigger picture while also being comfortable with detail and data, and ‘getting things done’
- Demonstrable sales and business development experience, having held a lead role in growing commercial revenue
- Strong commercial acumen, with excellent numeracy, analytical and negotiating skills
- A passion for social impact - a storyteller, able to sell an inspiring vision
- Excellent ambassadorial, communication and relationship-building skills
- A very clear customer focus
- E-commerce experience

Community Project Lead

Do you have experience working with under-served communities and leading impactful outreach projects? Are you passionate about improving access to support for families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?
IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of SEND law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Project Lead to join our team and lead the development of our advice services for under-served communities. This two-year, fixed-term role is a key part of our strategy to reach groups who may not traditionally engage with IPSEA’s support - including children and families with English as an additional language, cared-for children (children in care), migrant children, detained children, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
The project builds on a detailed scoping exercise we’ve recently completed, which involved working closely with a wide range of charities and organisations that support these communities. The resulting report outlines the barriers they face, and will form the foundation for this project and directly inform the work you will lead.
What you’ll do

Role Purpose
The Head of Research, Policy and Insights will join the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) alongside the Head of Operations, Head of Programmes and Engagement and Head of Marketing and Communications. This role is pivotal in guiding OKRE’s strategic direction, leveraging research to inform programme and policy development, and advocacy efforts.
You will lead the expansion and application of OKRE’s distinctive research activities (see Playing with Videogame Culture, and Entertainment Industries Taskforce), developing and delivering an ambitious programme of work that helps transform understanding of entertainment media, its impacts, and the ways different communities work with it.
A key focus will be development of an “Entertainment Impact Index”, a key recommendation from OKRE’s report ‘Delivering social impact in entertainment content – priorities, approaches & challenges.’ This new framework will complement existing impact measurements, supporting cross-sector collaboration and shared learning.
Engaging with trends in entertainment, including technological developments such as AI and machine learning, and approaches to charity and social impact, your role will involve identifying challenges and opportunities. You’ll develop strategies to measure and assess the impact of OKRE’s work, ensuring data informs both annual planning and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy
- Work with fellow SLT members to develop and implement organisational strategies that embed a research and insights-led culture within the charity.
- Craft and execute strategies for OKRE’s research and policy work, broadening the organisation’s reach and impact.
- Lead OKRE’s work with research consultants and work with other senior team members to develop and support colleagues across our staff and associate team working on insights and policy activities.
- Keep abreast of developments in entertainment and media (including tv, film, video games, creator content) as well as social impact, behaviour change and narrative change sectors, to support the dissemination and use of that knowledge across the organisation and beyond.
Programme design and delivery
- Lead on the development and delivery of a high impact programme of research and policy projects, spearheading major initiatives, such as the Entertainment Impact Index, and running regular convenings with key industry figures to develop actionable tools.
- Manage research materials, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide quality assurance on research, data and insight-related work in service of the charity’s goals and objectives.
- Provide insights to the wider OKRE team on key sector trends and opportunities relevant to programmes such as the OKRE Summit and OKRE Fund.
- Evolve evaluation strategies and provide practical support to team members to assess OKRE’s work, understanding what difference the charity has made, and synthesise learning to inform future activity.
Communication and Impact:
- Commission research through internal panels or external agencies and produce tailored briefings and reports.
- Turn research findings into sharp insights, impactful policy narratives, guides, tools, and training resources for the sectors we work with.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, advocating on policy matters and advancing the organisation’s thought leadership.
Stakeholder Management
- Seek out, build and maintain strong relationships with key organisations, funders and partners working in entertainment, charity, research and policy fields.
- Be a passionate advocate for and support the whole team to adopt an insights and evidence-based approach to their work.
- Define and advance a clear learning agenda based on the needs of key stakeholders in the business.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in strategic planning and delivery within research and policy environments.
- Demonstrable success in identifying emerging policy opportunities and applying research-led approaches to boosting organisational influence.
- Senior level experience managing research and policy portfolios, with budget accountability in commercial or charity sectors.
- Expertise in deploying quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, tools, with a track record in informed policy advocacy.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
