Ways of Working:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Digital Asset Management tool, ensuring timely updates of brand assets and guidance for staff and fellows.
• Conduct induction training on the Digital Asset Management tool and brand for new and existing staff members, maintaining a comprehensive training database.

This individual will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. They will be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.

We specialise in horticulture, retail and general employability. Our students undertake individualised learning programmes and supported internships that lead to vocational qualifications and achieving other aims. We support the wellbeing of our young people through providing mentoring, counselling, enrichment and other one-to-one support.

Our charity has two learning centres in Highgate and Hornsey. We also operate a gardening business and two charity shops, providing income for our charity, work experience placements for our students and employment for 14 young people. We work with local employers and partners to provide work experience and other opportunities for our students. 

The Role 

We’re looking for a senior fundraiser who is a skilled writer, a strong partnership builder and someone with a passion to improve the outcomes of young people with learning differences. This is a new post and you will have an opportunity to shape the role.

The person 

The role will suit someone who has had some prior experience in successfully raising funds ideally from trusts and foundations and/or from community fundraising. You are IT savvy and know how to use social media to grow an audience and design materials to effectively communicate a good cause. You are open to learning and to sharing your creativity and skills with others. 

Essential skills 

You will have:-

• 18-24 months of prior fundraising experience 

• Experience of successfully prospecting for, preparing and managing fundraising bids and stewarding funder/commissioner relationship 

• Knowledge of the charity sector, funders and funding environment 

• Excellent communication skills with an ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling narrative

Age UK is recruiting for a Data Privacy Manager to join our Information Protection and Compliance team to continue our great work to develop and manage the Age UK data protection privacy programme and to work on programmes of activity as defined by the ICO.

As Data Privacy Manager, you will review, update, and monitor the policies and procedures that are in place to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Regulation 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Regulation (PECR, 2003) laws, including managing internal data protection activities, advising on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), training staff, and conducting internal audits.
This role focuses on providing data protection advice to Age UK's various business units promoting a "privacy first" approach to design and development of products and services that involve the use of personal data and your primary aim will be to recommend and oversee measures to address any identified gaps in data protection and security.

The successful candidate will use their experience in data governance to undertake regular due diligence on the key elements of the Age UK data privacy framework, identifying and reporting any areas of practice and procedure that that require focus and remedy to ensure that there is no weakness across the charity and our commercial partners.

This role is offered on a Hybrid / London contract and currently the team meet in our London office once a week.

As a Supporter Development Manager, you’ll have a crucial role in engaging and developing our existing supporter-base through a range of activity. Understanding your budgets and campaign performance is also a vital part of this role as you’ll play an important part in budget development and management. Our programme is always focussed on further developing and growing our supporter engagement and financial support, so this role requires strong knowledge of audience segmentation, planning in a supporter-centric way and campaign KPIs. It’s also important to understand how we’re compliant and working within all regulations and as well as best practise processes.

Specialism: This role will primarily lead in our engagement and ongoing development of our regular giving programme. (This includes products like Poppy Supporter as well as other forms of regular donations.)

You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.

The main responsibilities of the Senior Finance Business Partner include:

• Consolidate and review financial data from various entities to prepare accurate and timely management accounts for presentation to the Head of Finance.
• Have line management responsibilities over a small team, including multiple Finance Business Partners and Management Accountants.
• Work closely with heads of entities to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that align with strategic objectives.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
• Continuously conduct comprehensive reviews of current management accounting and reporting processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with the Senior Managers to gather up to date information in order to maintain the integrity of the complex financial models, identifying changes in assumptions and further consequences.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a fully qualified ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or CIMA Accountant

• Be an excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability liaise effectively with stakeholders.

We have three great Senior Individual Giving Executive roles at Great Ormond’s Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSHCC), in their individual giving fundraising team. The extraordinary Great Ormond Street Hospital sees 750 seriously ill children and young people from across the UK and this is your chance to make a difference for them. The purpose of the roles is to lead on the day-to-day campaign management as well as explore new digital channels to develop and improve supporter journeys and maximise donor lifetime value.

If you have experience managing campaigns end to end, are analytical and creative, this could be a wonderful opportunity to progress your fundraising career or use your transferable skills to get into the charity sector.

To be a successful Senior Individual Giving Executive, you'll need:

• Experience of individual giving campaign management or clear transferable project management and fundraising skills
• Excellent project management and communication skills, including in developing and delivering multiple marketing campaigns and working with external agencies
• Experience of writing campaign briefs and using data analysis to in inform decision making on supporter or customer contact strategies

ABOUT BLACK ROOTZ

Black Rootz is a multigenerational growing project providing opportunities for Black and racially minoritised people to grow food for themselves, their families and their communities. Black Rootz was established in 2019 by a collective of Black growers in Haringey who recognised the need to organise to challenge the deep inequalities in the growing and food systems. Over the past 5 years, Black Rootz has developed a holistic practice for Black and racially minoritised communities incorporating intergenerational knowledge transfer, increased access to land and food sovereignty, regenerative environmental practices and reduced food inequality.

Black Rootz has been incubated as a project within The Ubele Initiative since 2019. As an established name in the growing community, it is now building towards an independent future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is a new role that will provide hands on management capacity to Black Rootz. The role will bring experience and energy to support the delivery and continued development of the project’s core activities; the Community Growing Programme and a new workshop series. The Project Manager will take on a management position and, with support from Ubele, help the project to navigate decisions that will enable Black Rootz to achieve its overall social, environmental, and operational ambitions. 

The successful candidate will be central in Black Rootz’ journey towards a more independent and sustainable future. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the complexity andholistic nature of Black Rootz and will be committed to its values. As a small team, the Project Manager will be as comfortable making plans and big decisions as they are rolling their sleeves up and being hands on to support the team. While this is a fixed-term contract, we expect the role to be extended and grow over time.
