Key Responsibilities - Drive Strategy and Deliver Impact

Fundraising Strategy and Pipeline Management: Contribute to the design of an ambitious global grant fundraising strategy and manage its implementation. You'll conduct market research, qualify new opportunities, and maintain a robust prospect pipeline to expand our existing funding base. This will involve the coordination and project management of outreach and engagement activities.

Proposal Development and Budgeting: Lead the creation of compelling, high-quality concept notes and multi-year funding proposals, aligned with funder priorities and including accurate, transparent budgets.

Who We're Looking For

Essential Expertise

Significant experience working in institutional fundraising or partnership management within the non-profit or development sector.

Knowledge of the climate-related trust and grants sector internationally and in the UK.

Demonstrable track record of successfully achieving income targets (minimum six-figure funds, including multi-year grants) from philanthropic foundations, institutional donors, trusts or statutory sources.

About the Role
This role will lead Media Trust’s climate work. As Senior Programme Manager, you will run our flagship Communicating Climate programme and lead Media Trust’s work on the Diverse Voices programme. You will help us further develop our climate work and ensure our existing programmes are cutting edge and meet the demands of this moment.
This role will directly manage our Communicating Climate programme. The Senior Programme Manager will build on the success of the past five years of the programme and further develop the programme content and structure to maximise impact for participating organisations. With support from a programme co-ordinator, you will ensure the smooth delivery of the programme, including recruiting and managing a cohort of climate organisations; overseeing the budget and timeline; managing our relationships with funders, trainers and partners; and impact evaluation and reporting.
You will also oversee our role in the Diverse Voices programme, which works to amplify the voices of people and communities most impacted by climate change. The programme is run by a consortium of organisations, including Race Equality Foundation, Turn2Us and Disability Rights UK. Media Trust is the media partner, delivering communications-related training and support to the participants.
Your line manager will be Media Trust’s Head of Charity Services and the role will sit within our charity services team. This Senior Programme Manager role does not currently have any direct line management responsibilities.
Please note that whilst this is a remote role, the Media Trust team meets in-person in London on a monthly basis and regular travel to London for meetings and events is required.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management of our climate programmes, including:

Lead our Communicating Climate programme, ensuring it is high quality, innovative and tailored to the needs and priorities of climate and environmental organisations

Recruit and build successive new cohorts of climate charities, user-led organisations and community groups, supporting them through the programme to ensure high levels of engagement and collaboration

Recruit and work with trainers and climate experts to develop engaging, practical and tailored training content, activities and resources

Plan and ensure the smooth delivery of all activities (including training, workshops, peer to peer networking sessions and other events), ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and lead to planned outcomes

Work with Media Trust’s media and creative industry partners to develop tailored training, mentoring and digital resources for the climate and environment sector

Manage the Advisory Group for Communicating Climate, which is comprised of leading media organisations, climate charities and sector experts, coordinating regular meetings, building relationships with members and facilitating opportunities for the Advisory Group to shape and input into the direction of the programme

Manage relationships with our key programme and sector partners including Climate Outreach, Heard and others, build relationships with a wide range of sector organisations

The Role
The role of a Senior Programme Coordinator is ensuring the smooth running of all programme related events and providing support services to Associate Fellows. This will include having a full understanding of all the SEO London programmes; understanding the relevant industry that the programme supports; how these fit into the SEO London organisation and using this knowledge to liaise with students, young professionals and client/partner firms to run, organise and market successful events.
In turn this role will be responsible for using data to run reports to show the impact of each programme. In coordination with the Programme Managers and other Senior Programme Coordinators, will make recommendations for possible changes and ideas to further support the student and young professional experience. The role will also ensure a seamless and professional level of customer care to all participants.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Programme Delivery and Logistics
· Responsibility for the scoping and delivery of key projects and events based on a strong understanding about the required outcomes from the partner firms and participants.
· Responsibility managing an end-to-end project, including managing to deadlines/time management/project mile-stones, along with resource planning and stakeholder as well as identifying and signing up volunteers, participants or partners for the events.
Participant Management and Marketing and Communication
· Responsible for finding and sourcing more participants via outreach lead, as well as having overall accountability for maintaining and developing strong participant relationships. Accountable for ensuring appropriate employability tools are delivered via the coordination teams.
· Responsible for using marketing techniques to adapt the relevant promotional outcomes needed for both participants and the sponsor firm, including being aware of the full range of channels available and to ensure that the marketing communications is targeted to the right audience, at the right time with the right message.
· The ability to create the right marketing and communication campaigns appropriate for the audience and to ensure it fit the purpose.

This is a varied role that will work as part of a small team to ensure we raise the funds needed to support the Peak District to be enjoyed by everyone, forever. You will help to raise funds to:
- Protect our peatlands. The Park contains some of the most degraded upland peatland anywhere in Europe. We’re working to restore Peak District blanket bogs and peatland back to health, conserving this vital carbon capturing habitat for the future.
- Restore habitats. Nature is in crisis even in our National Park. We’re working to create bigger, better and more joined up habitats across the Peak District, supporting biodiversity and providing essential corridors for wildlife.
- Connect people and communities to nature. The more people who are connected to nature, the more people will want to protect it. We are working to ensure people of all ages and backgrounds have opportunities to experience and care for our National Park.
- Ensure access for everyone. There are over 1,600 miles of paths within the National Park. We’re working to fund high quality path repair, improve access for people with disabilities and help more people enjoy their right to roam.
- Protect our cultural heritage. The Peak District landscape has been shaped by people. We’re working to protect and conserve these irreplaceable heritage sites, from historic buildings and industrial structures to pre-historic features.
