Deputy Head of Youth Work

The Deputy Head of Youth Work (Targeted & Partnerships) is a crucial role sitting within the Youth Zone Delivery Team. Reporting to the Head of Youth Work, you will be responsible for closely supporting the co-ordination, planning and delivery of an exceptional seven day per week youth offer within a state-of-the-art multi-million-pound centre.

About the Role

Through line management of your team and in collaboration with partners, you will ensure that the Youth Zone is accessed by all young people who need it the most. You will oversee community engagement outreach as part of the delivery ensuring the organisation continues to have a strong reputation and there remains a good awareness of the offer.

You will also be accountable for ensuring strong evidence of effective performance in line with vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives and that the team are afforded continuing professional development opportunities. Key responsibilities include:

• Line management of Female Engagement, Employability, Inclusion Coordinator and Outreach

• Monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all sessions including restricted-funding projects 

• Ensure the quality of the youth work offer across all direct report areas meet the standards of the organisation 

• Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships

• Manage one off projects, events and promotional activities 

• Identify suitable restricted-funding projects 

• Support, and in some cases manage, targeted projects as and when they come up, including budget management, and ensuring full monitoring and evaluation compliance

• Ensure that overall programme participation targets are consistently met

• Oversee budget lines of direct reports

• Work with the Head of Youth Work to prepare rotas 

• Working alongside the Head of Youth Work to ensure programmes are structured effectively and safely

Key Responsibilities

· To act as the managerial point of contact between the Trust’s Grantees & the Trust ensuring programme materials up to date.

DFN Project SEARCH offer an evidence-based supported internship model which takes place entirely in the workplace.  The programmes provide continuous support to young adults with a learning disability, and autistic people who are aged between 16 – 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan, or equivalent, in their final year of education.

You will be required to identify opportunities to develop and grow DFN Project SEARCH programmes across a geographical area with the aim of supporting the organisation to ensure that as many people as need it have access to DFN Project SEARCH programmes.

We’re on the lookout for a Direct Marketing Executive to join our Individual Giving Team here at Prostate Cancer UK. This role focuses on acquiring new cash and regular givers across a range of channels including direct dialogue, direct mail, digital and telephone, helping fund research that will save and improve lives.

In this role you’ll be part of an exciting time at the charity, joining us as we roll out our new Fundraising strategy and continue investment in Acquisition. You’ll drive on campaigns across a broad range of channels, with the aim of recruiting new, and re-engaging, lapsed regular and cash supporters. With the end of bear bile farming in Vietnam now within reach, Animals Asia is entering an exciting new phase – expanding sanctuary capacity, entering new markets, and securing long-term care for every rescued bear.

Animals Asia has spent over 25 years working to end cruelty and restore respect for animals across Asia. With teams in Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, the UK, and beyond, they combine advocacy, direct rescue, and sanctuary care to create systemic change. Their mission to end bear bile farming – arguably the world’s cruelest form of animal abuse – is almost complete. In November 2023, they opened their third bear sanctuary which will enable them to bring home every last bear and achieve their founding goal in Vietnam by the end of 2026.

Their global fundraising and communications team is driven, well-structured, and rooted in the charity’s deeply held values. Income has been steadily rising since 2017 and they have the people, plans and investment to maintain this growth.

The Trusts and Foundations function has grown substantially since being unified globally in 2020. Income has more than doubled, donor relationships are well-managed, and new business is actively developed. With a 2024 target of $1.3m and strong pipeline visibility, this role focuses on securing and stewarding 5- and 6-figure multi-year partnerships, with particular scope for growth in the US and unrestricted giving.

As Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will:

• Manage and grow a global portfolio of 5- and 6-figure funders, including multi-year partnerships

●      Source enough mentors to ensure 1MM has an oversupply (c.15% higher than demand) of fully trained, location relevant mentors available

●      Build a sustainable growth engine that ensures the pipeline of mentors remains sufficient on an ongoing basis

●      Work with key stakeholders across the business to improve conversion rates by refining our onboarding process

●   Meeting all quality assurance KPIs

• Establishing employers, professional networks, community groups etc. as Volunteer Providers.

●   Ensure key partners are smoothly handed over to the relevant colleagues within the business at the appropriate time.

●   Provide regular reports on progress related to the role.

Remuneration and benefits: Salary bracket of £32,000 (pro rata) plus London weighting if successful candidate lives in London,, up to 6.5% employer pension contribution and 25 days holiday per year (pro rata).
