We are seeking a dynamic, experienced manager to manage our part in “On track for inclusive train travel”, a research, scoping and piloting project, aiming to make rail travel more accessible and inclusive for disabled people. This project is being delivered alongside RNIB as lead partner, and funded by Motability Foundation, working with our members Community Rail Lancashire (CRL) and Gloucestershire & Oxfordshire CRP (GOCRP) to engage disabled people and shine a light on lived experience.
You will work closely with RNIB and their project manager, forming part of a small project team to ensure the success of this exciting project. You will support CRL & GOCRP in their coordination of local engagement with disabled people, helping to facilitate a pan-disability, empowering approach that draws on and champions expertise by experience. Ensuring excellent collaboration with railway partners is also key to this role, enabling us to co-create an effective, adaptable model for training, learning and culture change that can be deployed across the railways as they are reformed and renationalised.

Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, 1,300 station friends volunteer groups, and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects with young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and marginalised groups, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail.
Our enthusiastic team of 23 works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. Responsibilities
Project and local engagement coordination

Work closely with the RNIB project manager and as part of the project team to help ensure effective planning, coordination, management, communication and the overall success of this project, in line with its purpose and aims;

Ensure excellent coordination and communication with the two community rail partnerships, supporting their delivery of empowering, high-quality engagement, in line with project plans, requirements and objectives;

Ensure CRL and GOCRP are enabled to play their part effectively, using their expertise and local relationships to bring the experiences, ideas and voices of disabled people to the fore, while engaging railway staff constructively, to research, develop and test our model, and forge ongoing dialogue and understanding between the disabled community and railway;

Take a particular lead in utilising and championing co-creation principles and empowering ways of working, across this project and its partners, and in building a legacy;

Coordinate closely with our core railway partners helping to develop and test our model, and work across the rail industry, including engaging existing inclusion and accessibility forums and networks, to support the research phase and generally build on community rail’s positive relationships and ability to support inclusive railway practices;

Manage Community Rail Network’s budget and monitor the CRPs’ budgets in partnership with their project leads, ensuring these are in line with agreed grant funding;

Maintain and uphold our partner agreements and MoU with RNIB.
Research, evaluation and reporting

Work as part of the project team to engage railway partners and jointly deliver effective research, to understand current practices and issues within the railway around accessibility and inclusion, and opportunities to improve this;

Support the CRPs and their interaction with RNIB’s research and innovation staff and our academic advisor, and involving the disabled community and railway staff members;

Support effective recording and evaluation by the CRPs, ensuring this is in line with project requirements, and serves our goals around legacy-building and empowering those involved;

Advise and feed into RNIB on the completion of grant reports and financial statements, including coordinating and reviewing input, data and reports from the CRPs;

Maintain strong relations with Motability, as part of the project team.
Legacy building, communications and influencing

Continually feed into our senior team and the project board on insights emerging from the programme to help us advocate for more inclusive, confident (rail) travel for disabled people;

Support and feed into Community Rail Network and RNIB’s strategic work engaging with rail reform and transformation, such as attending meetings and providing briefings, reports and recommendations, to help us seize opportunities to advocate for positive change;

Attend and speak at community rail and other relevant events to develop awareness of the project, share its lessons, and promote our model;

Work with Community Rail Network and RNIB’s communications teams, and other colleagues and partners, to promote the project and its achievements, and amplify the voices/views/needs of disabled people, across our networks and build a legacy.
General team working

Contribute to the wider objectives and development of Community Rail Network, especially by sharing project progress and learnings, and offering advice and input.

Help our member support & development team to embed lessons from the project on involving and empowering disabled people.

Skills and competencies
- A proven track record in project management, including coordinating between multiple delivery partners and ensuring project/funding requirements are met, and supporting/overseeing effective monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrable experience in supporting community engagement, ideally related to inclusion, disability and/or mobility, and a good understanding of and confidence using engagement, project planning, and evaluation techniques to develop and support such initiatives.
- The ability to collaborate and communicate with community groups and other local partners, draw on their views and expertise, and support them to build capacity and confidence.

Other information
This post is home-based, but with travel (including occasional overnight stays) for project meetings, events and external meetings. Applicants will need local access to a train station to enable rail-based travel for work as needed.

The charity is rapidly scaling up, recently doubling its annual support to £6 million. Degrees has partnered with leading climate change funders and research partners including the Quadrature Climate Foundation, Open Philanthropy, Crankstart, Navigation Fund, Outlier Projects, LAD Climate Fund and UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA). Transparency of funding is essential to our work. We do not accept support from anonymous donors or funding from the fossil fuel industry. Fundraising for the organisation has been led by the Founder and CEO, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief of Staff, and the Chair of the Trustees with the support of an experienced Senior Philanthropy Advisor.
We now seek a full-time team member to build on this base. Reporting to the COO, and working closely with senior staff and the Chair, the Development Manager will support high‑performing fundraising that secures multi‑year, diversified funding. He / she will also introduce robust processes for pipeline management and donor stewardship and manage the complete donor lifecycle (from identification to cultivation to solicitation and stewardship) of a portfolio of top prospects. The post holder will receive initial onboarding support from the Senior Philanthropy Advisor. As fundraising grows, the team may expand in the future.

We seek a Finance Manager to lead the day to day running of the charity’s finances including overseeing the work of our outsourced financial provider. Working with the COO, you will undertake organisational financial planning, budgeting and forecasting so that the senior staff and trustees have comprehensive information for decision making. Responsibilities
As this is a new role, responsibilities are expected to evolve but some key items include:
- Financial Oversight: Overseeing the outsourced finance provider, ensuring service delivery meets organisational needs and deadlines. You will be the primary liaison between our financial services provider and the staff, ensuring that they make payments on behalf of the organisation, runs payroll, completes the bookkeeping via QuickBooks, the monthly management accounts, and the annual statutory accounts.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Preparing and monitoring annual organisational budgets including a mid-year adjustment, cash flow forecasts, financial models and annual accounts to support the annual business cycle and fundraising bids.
- Reporting: Finalising monthly management accounts prepared by outsourced financial provider, deliver financial reports for the COO, senior leadership, and trustees, and preparing donor financial reporting.
- Financial Strategy and Investment Oversight: Working with the COO to manage financial resources and reserves including developing the investment policy to support the long-term goals of the charity.
- Audit & Compliance: Leading on annual audits, maintain compliance with UK charity finance regulations, and ensure adherence to funder requirements.
- Programmatic financial support: Working closely with the programmes teams to ensure their payments processes run smoothly with the outsourced financial provider, and regularly reviewing their grant and event expenditure is in line with their own managed budgets.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices, such as working with Operations to improve payments & expenses software, opening new bank accounts, or finding new platforms to reduce international payment fees.

Role Purpose:
The Clinical Director will provide strategic clinical leadership to the Restraint Reduction Network, ensuring that all initiatives, standards, and practices align with evidence-based approaches, human rights principles, and the goal of reducing restrictive practices across education health and social care settings. This role will champion best practice, influence policy, and support the implementation of RRN Training Standards nationally and internationally.
This role will also include delivering training, audits, working on projects that reflect areas of expertise and supporting organisations to restrictive practices through six core strategies.
Role Summary
· To be the clinical lead for RRN including leading our work supporting providers to improve via the six core strategies.
· To provide clinical leadership for the RRN Partners Programme through acting as lead RRN consultant and delivering programmes.
· Working with the Director of Organisational and Workforce development to ensure programmes are effective and contemporary and evolves as practice evolves and improves with feedback
· Providing collaborative leadership of RRN in leading a restraint reduction movement across the British Isles and leading our RRN members community.
· Work with members of RRN Senior leadership team and board of trustees to ensure RRN is both sustainable and impactful in line with charities purpose
· Support RRN manager and associates to develop a range of resources ensuring that all RRN resources are:
o evidence based (linking with academics and universities)
o co-produced (with people with lived experience of restraint)
o protects human rights (linking with human rights organisations)
· Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of the RRN training standards and RRN Practice Leadership Diploma
· Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the RRN, ensuring positive relationships with key stakeholders including charities, civil servants, professionals, academics and people with lived experience
· Ensure RRN develops its reputation as leaders in restraint reduction nationally and internationally and ensure internal culture reflects trauma informed practice we promote
· Work collaboratively with CEO to ensure clear strategy and internal culture reflects trauma informed practice we promote
· Ensure all resources and work undertaken by RRN reflect best practice in co-production with people with lived experience of restraint
· Supporting RRN associates with lived experience with clear expectations of their role and putting in person centred processes to minimise the impact of trauma through the direct work they do for RRN and the interaction with the organisation.
· Contribute to the development of a Community of Practice
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the clinical vision for restraint reduction across education, health and social care, ensuring alignment with RRN’s mission and values.
- Provide clinical leadership in ensuring all RRN activities are trauma informed and people with lived experience are provided with support then need to minimise risk of retraumatising.
Policy & Standards
- Ensure RRN Training Standards and resources are co-produced, remain current, evidence-based, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to national and international policy development on restraint reduction and restrictive practices.
Quality & Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including audits, research, and evaluation of restraint reduction strategies.
- Monitor and report on clinical outcomes and impact measures related to restraint reduction.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with NHS Trusts, social care providers, special schools, regulators, and self-advocacy groups.
- Promote co-production with people with lived experience of restraint and their families.
Education & Workforce Development
- Support the development and delivery of RRN Diploma
- Provide clinical leadership for webinars, conferences, and professional development initiatives.
Research & Evidence
- Collaborate with academic partners to advance research on restraint reduction and disseminate findings.
- Ensure all RRN resources are evidenced based reflecting best practice from both research and people with lived experience.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that strengthens the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that the Global South should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade, and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.
This is a unique opportunity to inform conversations on SRM in Africa. Rather than lobbying for outcomes, Degrees aims to support informed, independent policymaking by fostering connections between researchers and policymakers and strengthening institutional expertise. Degrees promotes regional research, creates spaces for policy-science dialogue, and supports the dissemination of Global South research.
Responsibilities
The Policy and Engagement Manager, Africa will strengthen the voice of the Global South in discussions and potential negotiations on SRM research and governance with relevance to Africa by connecting experts to policy processes. Accordingly, the successful candidate will:
- Identify and engage key policy actors (e.g. national delegates and legislators, scientific advisors, intergovernmental officials) in Africa, connecting them to local SRM experts and providing them with information, where appropriate, while remaining neutral regarding the potential use and governance of SRM;
- Work with SRM researchers from the region to support the ongoing development of a coordinated community of experts;
- Build informal and formal partnerships with like-minded organisations, helping to inform discussions and counter misinformation about climate and SRM.
- Share expertise and experience gained from Africa with staff and researchers and participate, as appropriate, in activities in Asia and the Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean to gain similar expertise;
- Identify the most impactful international forums and regional SRM discussions, and work to connect local experts into these;
- Identify a core group of researchers interested in policy engagement, and facilitate and join their participation in governance fora such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, UNFCCC COP, UN Environment Assembly, and meetings of the Convention on Biological Diversity;
- Support the execution and coordination of the Degrees policy engagement strategy in collaboration with other policy and programmatic staff;
- Contribute to budgeting and alignment with programmes;
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities by contributing to tracking, documentation, and reporting of policy engagement outcomes;
- In cooperation with the communications staff, ensure the development of clear, contextualised briefing materials for policy makers and other audiences.

Partnership Development - Team Purpose

Together with our Church partners, we deliver our life-changing services, firstly our core Debt Help service that is then supported by essential wrap-around resilience programs like Job Clubs, Life Skills, and Money Coaching. We are driven by a passion to see people not only find financial freedom, thriving in life, but also become followers of Jesus and find a true sense of belonging in a local church.

We're looking for a compassionate, self-starting individual who is tenacious, goal-oriented, and target-driven with a make it happen mentality, because they know the impact growing this movement will have on thousands of people's lives.
This role is part of the Partnership Development Team within the Mission & Movement Directorate. Reporting to the Head of Movement Development, you will be responsible for initiating and engaging with senior church leaders and wider networks to partner with CAP, primarily through our life-changing Debt Centre service.
As a Partnership Development Manager, you'll be a key driver of our mission. We're looking for a self-motivated, results-oriented, problem solving individual who can build and nurture relationships across diverse church networks and denominations.
You will be responsible for generating new partnership opportunities, inspiring church leaders and wider networks to engage with CAP's vision and partner with us. You'll need to be an entrepreneurial self-starter with a proven ability to build a robust pipeline and deliver on growth targets, specifically around Debt Centre growth motivated by our desire to help more people out of debt and poverty and see them become followers of Jesus.
Partnership Development Manager Scope
- The team is split between full time and part time PDMs.
- Significant amount of travel with large regions to cover.
- This role has no direct reports.
- In line with our expenses policy, all expenses (e.g. mileage costs) are claimed retrospectively via our CAP Expenses system.
Role:
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for expanding CAP's partnership network across your region alongside the Regional Director and Head of Movement Development, strategically prioritizing and developing relationships with church leaders and networks to establish new partnerships and services. You'll achieve this by collaborating with other teams, proactively networking with Christian organizations and denominational leaders (where appropriate), and representing CAP at various events, all with the goal of growing our influence and opening new services in every community.
- Proactive management of contacts as they progress through the pipeline, working alongside churches to identify if a CAP service supports their church vision, and if appropriate, manage them through the church journey and experience to open a new CAP service.
- To open new Debt Centre Partnerships as laid out in regional Development plans in target areas of deprivation and communities across the region.
- To open resilience services (Job Clubs, Life skills & Money Coaching) with new and existing church partnerships.
- Alongside Regional Director to identify key areas from across the region to host and organize a targeted number of CAP Spotlight Events per term. These events are designed to gather church leaders around a table to have conversations around opening a multi Church Debt Centre.
- To proactively build, manage and progress a self generated caseload of churches within your region, through cold calling, face to face meetings and all other appropriate forms of communication. This will include frequent travel across the region to meet with appropriate churches/ leaders.
- Refer potential new Debt Coaches or Churches that might want to work with an existing or expanding Church Partnership to the relevant Area Partnership Managers who are responsible for existing centre growth and sustainability.
- To work with Regional Leaders and Area Partnership Managers to deepen local knowledge and connections in order to deliver new church partnership opportunities.
- To collaborate across departments where needed to support and engage with Church Events, Talks, Conferences, Festivals, Church Leaders Meetings and other relevant events within your region, working on exhibition stands (when necessary) to help generate enquiries.
- To work with local church teams to ensure appropriate candidates are identified and have a full understanding of the role and responsibilities involved, ensuring CAP¿s selection team receive the appropriate information in a timely manner.
- To advocate and make introductions where appropriate for Church talks, CCT and fundraising opportunities.
- Where appropriate, to represent Partnership Development in additional projects which improve the delivery and content of CAP's products and services.
Measurable Outputs:

We are seeking a proactive and creative Senior Events Fundraising Officer to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about events fundraising and eager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio. You’ll play a key role in developing new fundraising events, supporting and inspiring colleagues, and delivering excellent supporter experiences that maximise income and impact.
The role will involve:
- Leading on a portfolio of owned and third-party fundraising events, including feasibility research, planning, marketing, participant recruitment, logistics, budgeting, and evaluation.
- Taking a lead role in the development of new fundraising events in collaboration with the Innovation Team, from research and proposals through to approval, delivery and evaluation.
- Providing first-class supporter care, ensuring participants feel valued and engaged, and that income and expenditure targets are met or exceeded.
- Working closely with marketing, press and PR colleagues to create and implement event promotion and communications plans, across both traditional and digital channels.
- Line managing and supporting Events Officers where appropriate, and deputising for the Events Fundraising Manager when required.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and event providers to ensure effective delivery and the best possible experience for supporters.
- Overseeing volunteer recruitment and stewardship plans to increase engagement and retention.
