The Royal Hospital Chelsea is looking for a skilled Marketing Officer to contribute to and deliver effective marketing campaigns to help meet the organisation's core strategic objectives. This is an exciting new role within the Marketing and Communications team and a fantastic opportunity to join an historic organisation, the home of the iconic Chelsea Pensioners since 1692.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience of delivering impactful multi-channel campaigns for a range of audiences, and ideally at a nationally recognised organisation within the military, charity, cultural or public sectors. You'll be responsible for marketing a wide range of projects including our recently launched, nationwide Veterans' Outreach programme, the Soane Stable Yard - which is open to the public 7 days a week, and our year-round events programme, as well as working with our partners to promote the Chelsea Heritage Quarter.

We are seeking a proactive marketeer, who is equally comfortable planning and implementing campaigns as well as creating compelling content, with excellent attention to detail and a good understanding of what drives public engagement and support for an organisation like the Royal Hospital.
The successful candidate will be:
· A skilled and confident executor, who is experienced in consumer marketing and promoting a wide range of projects including public events to the right audiences.
- Creative in crafting compelling marketing content to deliver effective, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Experience of working with a range of partners to help raise awareness and engagement, as well as suppliers such as designers and photographers.
- Relevant marketing experience in a military, charity, cultural or public organisation would be particularly advantageous.

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Exhibitions Officer to join their Archives, Heritage Library and Museum services (AMS) team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering exhibitions that explore the history and evolution of medicine, with a strong emphasis on audience engagement and accessibility. You will collaborate with the AMS team to create compelling exhibitions that resonate with a wide range of visitors.
Their collections, including archives, art and objects, books, and oral history recordings, offer a unique lens through which they can engage, inspire and entertain audiences. In London, their permanent displays and temporary exhibitions are viewed by over 32,000 visitors a year, with a further 400,000 visits to items on loan to museums and galleries around the world.
You’ll report to and work closely with the Senior Curator and hold a key role in a busy and experienced team of 9 heritage professionals.
Responsibilities
- plan and develop the content and delivery of a programme of changing exhibitions exploring themes from medicine past and present
- research and write interpretation for exhibitions and displays.
- collaborate with the AMS team to develop materials that enhance audience engagement and accessibility
- work with an advisory committee to ensure exhibitions reflect diverse perspectives
- manage the planning and logistics of all aspects of exhibition installation and de-installation, working collaboratively with other RCP departments and external contractors.
- contribute to AMS social media, history blog, exhibition webpages.
- deliver tours, talks and participate in our busy events programme
This role is a part time (14 hours), with a minimum of 7 hours per fortnight to be worked onsite. The remaining hours able to be worked flexibly across the week.
Experience
- You will have significant experience of developing and delivering exhibitions in a museum environment, including writing interpretation text.
- Your experience will also include managing loans in a museum environment, including legal and logistical requirements.
- You will be familiar with handling historic collections and with best practice guidelines like Spectrum.
- You will have a demonstrable interest in the history of medicine or a related subject.

The Digital Communications Officer is responsible for developing and delivering dynamic digital content to inform, engage, and motivate diverse audiences, helping to raise awareness of the charity's work and the support they offer to the advice sector. The role will ensure a consistent voice across social media, websites, and email communications to enhance visibility, strengthen member and stakeholder engagement, and market benefits, products and services to customers, members and potential new members.
Contract: Permanent role
Salary: £27,365 plus Regional Weighting (up to £4,677 in London). All staff also receive £600 per year work from home allowance
Location: Hybrid role which will be predominantly home-based with some travel and meetings in London

As Digital Communications Officer your core responsibilities will include:
- Creation of engaging, accessible and inclusive digital content to promote the charity's services and campaigns, upholding their brand identity across all digital channels.
- Filming, photographing, creating, and scheduling organic and paid digital media content.
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to tell impactful, human-centered stories from members and stakeholders.

- Maintaining, improving and optimising the charity's websites using WordPress, ensuring SEO optimisation and user-friendly design.
- Support on the delivery and tracking of the charity's annual communications plan across target audiences.

- Support with email communications including newsletters and email communications using tools like Bee Pro and Marketing Cloud.
- Identification and implementation of improvements to enhance marketing effectiveness; including staying up-to-date with the latest trends, innovations and practices in web design and digital communications.
- Provision of analysis and reporting to support decision-making, collaborating with colleagues to maintain data quality.
- Conducting market research and gathering member and customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies.
- Analysis of digital performance using tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite Meta Business Suite, and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement email reports to inform strategy.
We'd love to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Strong experience in a digital communications or marketing role, ideally in a similar sized organisation with a social purpose. Commercial B2B experience is desirable but not essential.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver digital campaigns across social media, websites, and email.
- Strong copywriting, editing and storytelling skills with a flair for creative communication.
- Experience creating a range of digital content including video, infographics and blogs.
- Confident using digital communications tools including Hootsuite, WordPress, Salesforce or other CRM, and ideally Marketing Cloud Account Management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decision making.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience.

- We’re open to how this contract is worked, our full time hours are 35 hours per week, but we are passionate about flexible working, and would support you to work part time, talk to us about your preferences.
