Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Life After Stroke Service based across North, Mid and Central Hampshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11304 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Hampshire, specifically North, Mid and Central Hampshire (Basingstoke/Winchester area) However, Frequent travel will be required as part of this role (to include team meetings or other work related meetings)

Salary: Circa £18,812 per annum (FTE circa £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026. Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

The Role

The service aims to identify and provide key worker support to meet the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway. Providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

The Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
• Provide personalised information, advice and support.
• Support stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.

About You

The Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

Job Purpose

As BSR’s Head of Policy,  you will lead a portfolio of work that truly supports our members’ priorities and works towards creating the conditions that will enable rheumatology care across the UK to thrive and flourish. 

To excel in this role you will need to be comfortable working both at a strategic level and with detail and data. You will ensure BSR understands and responds to current and emerging needs in rheumatology practice, identifying gaps in quality, policy and research. You will develop BSR’s evidence and intelligence base about our members’ priorities, the state of rheumatology care across the UK and the challenges and opportunities in rheumatology. Through collaborating with colleagues you’ll help us ensure this insight informs our policy agenda, our strategic planning and operational decision making, ultimately achieving maximum possible impact in our work to drive-up standards in the delivery of rheumatology services and to inspire and activate changes that improve lives.

What you'll do:

- Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers

This role exists to promote and support DAHA Accreditation among housing providers and local authorities, ensuring they embed effective and survivor-centred responses to domestic abuse. Its main goal is to drive system and culture change in the housing sector, improving safety, support, and outcomes for survivors of domestic abuse through the implementation of DAHA's nationally recognised standards.
 
The role directly contributes to Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse's mission by embedding domestic abuse best practice into housing systems at both strategic and operational levels. By building partnerships, delivering training, supporting accreditation, and influencing policy, the role ensures the housing sector plays a proactive part in a coordinated community response—ultimately helping prevent abuse, safeguard survivors, and strengthen institutional accountability.
 
This role addresses the critical gap in how housing providers respond to domestic abuse. It helps standardise and raise the quality of responses, ensures survivors receive safe and appropriate support, and builds capacity across housing systems to prevent harm and hold perpetrators accountable. Here at the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health, for more than 20 years we have developed an international reputation for producing evidence-based guidance, evaluation and policy.

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Researcher to join the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health to provide maternity leave cover for 11 months in the first instance.

You will lead in the development of competence frameworks, systematic reviews, evaluations, research reports and articles for peer-reviewed publication, as well as other research tasks. The Senior Researcher will be expected to supervise the research team in searching for literature, sifting articles, data extraction, data synthesis and quality appraisal and lead the writing of reviews. Importantly, you will be expected to manage the components of complex projects and deliver high quality outputs on time. 

We are seeking an individual with a background in mental health services, competence frameworks or systematic reviewing, who has a PhD in a related field (e.g. psychology, systematic reviewing, mental health, healthcare management), and has experience of managing or leading research projects. 

You will also have a proven ability to communicate and present information in a clear and concise fashion and be able to manage a small team.
